the law works differently for v8s and turbos for a v8 a p plater isnt allowed more tha 125rwkw per ton of vehicle. for a turbo car it works in literage of the eninges capacity as the kw's can easily be adjusted by boost. u are allowed 2.5liter per ton of vehicle. i was told this by a victorian tmu officer when he was defecting my car! matty

well im guessing the more pressure u drop the wider ur tyre spreads on the tarmac, thus increasing traction, i suppose for a standard car like mine the gain couldnt be so great... cheers,matty

thanks for the response fellas! i was hoping nething better than a 14.5 nething less and i would be extactic! my tyres are kumo silica's 225 with a 50 wall, i think 20psi would be alrite... ive read of skylines like mine doing high 13second passes, i doubt i'd be pulling them off... hopefully this is the first run of many and i suppose each time can only get better and better... if anyone else is in melbourne you should come down to calder for the night, it would be good to see afew skylines running. once again thanks heaps for the advice and i'll post my timeslips asoon as i get home friday nite! cheers! matty

G'day people, this friday is going to be my first 1/4mile run. im posting to see what people might have to say concering my preperation, it would be much appriciated to see what people have to say... also if anyone could give me a time i could expect to run? my car is a 96 series 2 GTST 3inch cat back exhaust hi flow cat type2 bov k & n pod filter stock boost, stock everything my tyres are 225/50 on the standard rim... im thinking of dropping the psi to about 20??? ive taken all my stereo gear out and all the loose bits n pieces... if any one has any advice it would be much appriciated... cheers!matty

i dont know this for a fact but i heard that heating up street tyres does more harm then good, they are designed to operate best at average temps as felt on a normal road, thus doing a massive stand still before you run down the 1/4 could actually cause you to loose traction... can anyone add to this, i would like to know forsure as i am going to take my skyline down the 1/4 this friday... thanks! matty

some1's going to be admitted into hospital with a nice shrapnel wound the shape of a GTR badge in there head soon...lol...what happened to good ol common sense and being happy with what your car is! i still dont know y people try mock things up...it destroys the good name of the cars they mock up...
