  1. Granted that its impossible to moderate every post that is made, and I think that all of the moderators and admins need to get a big pat on the back for doing this mostly thankless job out of their own personal time. I wasnt trying to attack anyone (especially the moderators/admins) - just wanted to get my thoughts across on the loss of the regional forums. Which i believe I have. Once again, thanks to the mods and admins who take time out of their lives to run and maintain this forum which is loved by all of its users.
  2. No, ive never been into the "whoretown" threads as i have never had an interest in them. Its not my place to make the decisions of who is abusing and who isnt, thats for the moderators and the administrators to do. Likewise, I dont think that its their job to wade through all of the posts and make judgements. Sure, if a complaint is made my someone, they should react, I just think that a blanket banning of all other threads (that werent "involved" to my knowledge) is a little unfair. Forgive me if im whining, but really the only threads I bothered to keep up with on here were the Newcastle thread, sometimes the Central Coast thread, and the occasional For sale and DIY thread, so banning the two topics that were the only real reason I came on here at all for something that wasnt done in those topics seems a little harsh.
  3. Punish the guilty, not the masses?
  4. Maybe I didnt communicate what I meant very well, but the above two posters have done so. Removing the local threads removes the "community" feel of the boards. Will there be any thought into providing a similar feature on SAU itself, or should we just kiss it goodbye? As a side note: If you're from Newcastle - hit me with a PM so i can add you to friends
  5. I agree, there are far more appropriate methods of talking to friends all day long, but in my experience (which is mainly the Newcastle thread) the members using it were more using it as a bulletin board rather than pages and pages of random chatter. Will there be any system implemented to replace these threads? Perhaps a "one post per time limit" sort of deal (i know it would be a pain in the butt to implement, but it would be nice to get the community feel back). And I do understand why they were banned and can accept and support the decision to stop them for the reasons the admins have mentioned above, but as Tinks said...what about the rest of us who werent abusing the service or others?
  6. Lifes not fair Tinks =( Hopefully this will be a temporary thing and soon we can get our forums back, but if its permanent its kind of removing the reason I joined SAU, to chat with and organise meets with others from Newcastle (and the surrounding areas).
  7. Wow!! They look fantastic mate. Awesome job!
  8. Hope it all turns out for the best mate, but I hope you know that deposits of over a certain limit ($15K-$20K i think) automatically flag your bank account as "suspicious" with the Australian Federal Police.
  9. Hey guys! Count me in for that cruise, I drive a silver R33 GTSt. Im looking forward to meeting you all!
