the difference is that it it won't plug into your original wiring loom. what I was going to do was make an adaptor loom. I took the original plug out of a spare computer and matched the pins to the wires on wolf loom. it's exactly what wolf does but doesn't come with a $300 price tag.

I have for sale a wolf 3d v400 ecu. comes with all new gear. wiring harnesses, sensors, hand controller etc. was bought from a friend who had bought the unit a while ago and never had a chance to install. sourced a second hand but virtually brand new hand controller to suit. also bought the proper download cable and have just spent $200 getting the v400 software and having the unit tested while it was there just incase. perfect for any car. computer also has boost control etc and comes with manuals and new plugs, connectors to suit. price now $1000 firm. you cannot buy these new anymore, retail price on ecu and handcontroller was $1500 when sold and did not include cable or software. here are some pics:
