lol, you've got me there mate. nothing like a fridge to keep the beer cold and aircon to keep me cold. do what we did with spencers navara STR. we just wound up the boost and chipped the ecu. made some good gains and the extra torque is nice when towing something heavy. but man they can burn the diesel with a big load on... actually you guys have a petrol one don't you? maybe just trade the navara in on a hummer. not the new pussy ones though. one of the old proper hard core ones. like that:

yep, nice. like the wheels too. I have some as 'road' wheels on my grey 32. -
R32 Gtr Brake Upgrade Advice
Beer Baron replied to LotusGTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
troy I think you'll find they are 17X9 +20, not +22. as far as I can see all the GTR offset TC05s are 17X9 +20. mine are +20. like these bad boys. -
R32 Gtr Brake Upgrade Advice
Beer Baron replied to LotusGTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeah I think the weds we have troy are the TC05. not the 005. these are the 005s. (i like them too. weds are the goods. all of them! just a shame not all of them are forged, like the XD9s etc, look nice but cast...). -
yeah you can live without the cams, and if you decide you want them later they can easily be fitted in the car. so no need to buy them now. I would get the dumps. whilst everything is out and your doing the turbos give them the best breathing you can. the tomei dumps are good and match well with the big boy twin 75mm HKS front pipes. afms, well same as the cams. you don't HAVE to get them now, and if you find out you do need them they are only a 30 min job to fit down the track. you probably will though. I was regularly hitting 5.115v on mine stock GTR AFMS at only 276rwkw. sure you can still get quite a good tune even with maxed afms, but it's nice to have more scope for more airflow to be measured there. whilst your engine is out also consider doing sump baffles or a sump extension. good idea if you plan on any track use in the future. and impossible to do with engine in the car.

don't bother modding the trailer russ. just give it to me for my 32. that thing fits a 32 in perfectly. and it's got aircon! lol, you pansy.

what engine?

it would be super responsive. maybe swap for the 10cm housing if possible. I have the T518Z 8cm on my SR and it's a great turb for an SR. mines putting out 230kw at the wheels with plenty more boost to run (only running about 17psi from memory). if you strapped it onto yout 25 and run 20psi it could get you over 250 I reckon. but by the time you get the right dump and front pipe, and mod the mani or get adapter and adapt the intake it's probably better to just sell it and buy an RB25 bolt on option like a GT-RS or similar. althought I guess the t518Z is about GT-RS size so they should work similarly.

Single Turbo Upgrade To ~300awkw
Beer Baron replied to __PhaseShiftDown's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
fark since i'm nice here it is. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ur-t139923.html started nearly 2 years ago, but ran for a year. in the end I went silly and have ended up with: tomei manifolds HKS GT-SS tomei dumps HKS twin 75mm front pipes into single 4inch greddy full suction kit greddy hard pipe kit ARC intercooler single definitely would have been cheaper. I could get rid of the tomei mani's (~$1K), GT-SS (~$3K), tomei dumps ($700), Greddy suction kit ($1K), HKS front pipes ($700). that would leave $6400 to spend on a single set up (gate, mani, turbo, intake pipe, dump, front pipe, turbo to cooler pipe). -
Single Turbo Upgrade To ~300awkw
Beer Baron replied to __PhaseShiftDown's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
do a search in this forum for small single turbo or SST there was a big thread on this topic (started by me) in the last year or so. I had a similar thought, why not try a mid sized single to aim for just 300-350rwkw. lots of good responses in there. -
I don't think it let go last time due to cam cap stud failure though.... still if you want it, buy it. but we did try to tell you!

yep, you picked it mate. he has definitely lost some of that focus and his race results have suffered for it. but I really don't think he lacks the pace. he can still turn it on when needed. I would love to see seto and skaife pair up for bathurst. they both started out around the same time as 2 young guns in the late 80s/early 90s. and both had enough pace and professionalism to shake up the old crowd. it would be nice to see them team up for a win.

Show Me Your Racing Machines
Beer Baron replied to screamin''s topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
yep, RS are the step up from the RAs. same specs but with canisters and the 4 way adjustment instead of 2 way. I don't know if they still make either of the RA or RS any more sadly. -
Show Me Your Racing Machines
Beer Baron replied to screamin''s topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
fatz would know. he drives like his momma so he's often stuck behind people gazing at their behinds.. mmm some slicks would be nice though. but I think for the 285s i'd need to take a slide hammer to my guards! -
How Fast Is Your Stagea (really)?
Beer Baron replied to KiwiRS4T's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
well I drove a rapid stagea last night. 350awkw. RB26 and manual conversion, twin highmounts (look like 2530s or GT-RS maybe), power FC DJETRO, lots of other gear. pretty scary on standard suspension. not very quick under 5,000 but holy shit from 6,000-8,000 i thought it was trying to kill me! I reckon the 350kw feels about as quick as 320 or so in a 32 GTR so should be good for 11s I guess. this thing: -
R32 Gtr Brake Upgrade Advice
Beer Baron replied to LotusGTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
copy cat. pics big boy. now all you need is a GTR to go with them. there are plenty of dirt cheap ones at the moment. also, I want some AP's with this slot design...lol. -
I feel the same way mate. I grew as a teen in the 90s watching him race and loved every minute.

yep it was a sad day when sakifey announced it. at least he showed the haters he is human after all and had a few tears. his whole life has been motorsport and a good portion of it touring cars in one form or another so it must be hard to say goodbye. I'll certainly trek out to oran park to see him race one last time (if I'm in the country.). good by skaifey. i'll miss you mate.

R32 Gtr Brake Upgrade Advice
Beer Baron replied to LotusGTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeah there is no doubting that, but I would say the template may be a little on the safe side as is the 5mm radial clearance. -
R32 Gtr Brake Upgrade Advice
Beer Baron replied to LotusGTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
well I have definitely seen AP 6 pots and the like with 355mm rotors under 17inch TE's. haven't tried it myself personally so definately measure up first. I'm not sure that you'll realy need 416ID though. check the templates and measure up a rim too. from memory my enkei NT03s are over 400mm ID and the Weds TC-05s are too. the BBS LMs I have were under 400 as they step down a fair way. it may be worth getting a AP 6 piston kit with 343X32mm rotors so you can pick from a wide range of 17inch wheels as they will fit under heaps of different 17s. the 355s should fit under the 17inch TEs though. A mate of mine (giant on the forum) was able to fit his 18inch TE37s over his 380mm R35 GTR Brembo set-up and they have pretty big calipers. -
yep, the HKS kit used to be top value as it includes all the gaskets you need (good qual multi-layer metal ones) and turbos with the heavy duty adjustable actuators pre-fitted and set at 1bar. and all the other little nuts and studs you need and inlet gaskets etc. but sadly it's just gone up a fair bit due to the AUD weakness, but if you can find a kit here you can possible still get it at a competetive price. plus you get the HKS turbos too which are nice.

i keep seeing a nice white R8 near my apartment in the city. it's always parked on pitt st outside world tower. seen it there 3 times in the last few weeks. they look great in white with the big carbon panels as contrast. such a cool car. have to say audi did a great job with the R8, it's a really cool car.
-
yeah it's easy to go nuts on the parts. i'm guilty of a lot of crap i probably don't need but is 'nice' to have. yep, I reckon anythnig under 400rwkw head studs aren't really a neccesity, cam cap studs, well as long as they are good or new, and are installed and torqued in the correct order then there is little chance of anything going wrong with them. the only times i've seen dramas with them is when they are being installed or removed improperly. i've also seen dramas with people installing head studs then having problems due to them not being installed correctly, with studs bottoming out etc. which is why I wouldn't go there unless there is going to be some really serious power and boost to come. over the years as prices on gear came down I guess people just were inclined to fit more serious stuff 'just in case'...

Space Saver Spare
Beer Baron replied to LotusGTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeah 60psi is right for the spave savers. wear goggles when inflating! haha. also when your ap's brakes are on you'll need to toss the space saver in the bin and pray you never get a puncture. -
R32 Gtr Brake Upgrade Advice
Beer Baron replied to LotusGTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
there is an easy answer to that. TE-37s. 17X9.5 with the right offset will clear (i think the 17X9.5 TEs come in +25 and +12 but 9.5 with +12 offset will sit just outside the guards). even the 17X9 +20 will be perfect and give you the guard clearance you need and can take a semislick anywhere from 235 to 255 comfortably. that would be my choice.
