  1. bedding an engine in on the dyno is very common. saves allot of F**king around on the street.
  2. they are the pistons i was referring too before. which cp pistons would you go with? i take it 9 1 compression is ok judging by your build. what turbo are you running? i was thinking of gt35r from what i'v read. or a t04z
  3. i'm no eert but i think 9 7 is getting pretty high. sure someone with a bit of knowledge will shed some light anyway.
  4. would running a gt35r @ 9 compression ratio be safe? or would 8 5 be better?
  5. what did you do to it? forgies, rods? what comp did you go for.
  6. all seems clear now! thanks for the info
  7. how do yu know if your rb30e block is short or long? is there an easy way to tell?
  8. which pistons allow the 9.1 ratio? are they aftermarket items and forged or is it out of a 25na or 25t? wasn't gonna bother with touching the bottom but i will if i have to. 8.3 comp means i have too....
  9. imo this car looks nice and all. may or may not hold the nurberg record for 'production' cars. but at the end of the day weight is the major factor. this car will have lots of power and performance for a 'production' car. what interests me more is how this engine will fare for aftermarket upgrades - will it even be able to hold the same hp as the old RB???? really not so sure on that one. will look and feel great but wont ever be the toughest street or track car out there from the range currently available. plus imo, you can't beat manual. 1/2 a second quicker changes????? a lazy man changing gear maybe? if you want no stall then you don't need your clutch and you can't beat the selection from a manual- unles thisnew gearbox has some really fancy shit and knows what corner lies ahead before you get there...
  10. citrus cleaner followed by penetrant oil to make sure it don't rust while you have things in the open.
  11. umn so how do i get a compression ratio of 9 instead of 8.3...... i'm sure it's in there but i stopped reading at page 23... i read that using the N/A head will give me compression of 9? how is that so? the n/a head gasket????? much appreciated. i'v got an rb30 with only 105,000k's and intend to drop a 25 straight on. looking for about 500hp. if it blows up il put another bottom on!
  12. always premium. although this week i happened to get some AVGAS for free... about 25l. lol. so that went in my tank which mixed with 10litres of premium. better stuff
  13. if there was no smoke then there is no worries! it's when smoke pours out the back with the same characteristics as what you described becomes a problem.... new turbo gasket then.
