Nope, lent the car to Mrs to pick up dinner

Yeah, I paid for that hard

She now puts the Bogan Cruise Ship in the ssme boat as the R33 GTST boat. i.e. she called the R33 a sometimes car, because sometimes it worked, she now calls the Dunnydoor a sometimes car

She hates the car hard now

It will take time, and gifts of shiny things, but she will come around, eventually.....

    Sorry to hear.

    Post pics of shiny things.

  2. Welcome.

Thanks for the pics, we all love pictures around here.

Also glad you made an account.

Hopefully you will love this place as much as the test of us.

I also live near snow, and the locals love their Subaru's, but I definitely haven't had any luck with them.

Audi quattro gets the job done for me.

Don't drive it too much, will be $100k soon

    Lol.

    Needs paint.

Tried selling recently, kept getting offers for 25k

    Had 35k as price.

Similar with good paint were 45k.

    Paint is approx 10k.

    So, I figured, 45-10=35.

    Apparently not.

People kept saying 35-10 for paint, so 25.

We will see what happens down the track.

Really depends on personal preference but I think they are reliable enough to daily after owning a 2x Evo 8 GSRs, 2x Evo 9 GSRs, a X GSR and a X MR. The cars drive really well stock and with bolt ons can make 330-350 to the wheel with a good tune. Personally the X MR was really nice in traffic, had a lot of room inside/comfy, and was sneaky fast. However, it did feel a bit bulky compared to the 8 and 9. If you want something a bit more agile I’d lean towards a IX GSR. Although interior changes were minimal, I did like the extra comfort stock (leather seats) compared to the 8.

And I believe the 9 had mivec too?

Have heard this helps dramatically when tuning.

Haven't driven any other evos(apart from X mr's) but can imagine they would definitely feel bulkier, as they are much bigger in general.

  5. Welcome.

Diving deep into the mechanicals happens VERY quick.

The power bug bites hard and doesn't let go.

The wrx would definitely handle better than the gtr, but as a cruiser and straight line bruiser, gtr are phenomenal.

As Duncan has expressed, please post pics when you get a chance.

I though I would like it, but, I hated my 2015 STI, it just did not inspire me, even after some parts and tuning to get about 220 kwatw from it (only tuned up enough to not worry the glass ringlands), stock it made 145 kwatw on the Pulse dyno

I know no one who made over 250 kwatw reliability from one with a stock engine

I fell for the WRC fan boy marketing

I was comfortable though, and cabin noise was minimal, so it technically was a OK daily, fuel consumption wasn't good for a true daily if that's a thing you look at though

    images.jpeg-22.jpg

    That's a shame.

The new sti are a gorgeous looking car.

Shame amd surprising they cant cope with even 250 on stock internals.

Haven't had the chance to drive long term, let alone own, but I found them OK in the stints I drove used ones when getting them ready for sale.

2015+ FA20DIT CVT WRX better than all the above in the real world, and faster point to point on the street.

How was the cvt with cruise control?

Have found some wring themselves when going uphill. Take cruise off  and can maintain a much lower rpm by yourself for the same climb.

Wasn't that the point of them? Especially the 'auto' version? I remember reading about WRX vs. Evo and the Subaru interior/daily drive-ability was praised compared to Evo.

Wrx should be compared to the ralliart lancer.

The evo should be compared to the sti.

Having driven both(of the same era) the sti and evo really are much of a muchness.

But, only driven the sti in a manual, and the evo in the sst("auto").

Man, iso is tough when everyone and everything else is pretty much back to normal. I went through it recently and it felt like a being a proper convict.

It would be a serious drive for you to come up from the Snowys though for the aqua golf?

    Meh, only about 5hrs.

And I'm pretty much a home body, so wouldn't affect my normal life too much.

It sounds fun! Someone at work mentioned this place just the other week.

Jen and I will be there.

I'm pretty sure I have played golf on the Nintendo Wii once so I feel well prepared. Going to aim for nothing less than the $500 cash price.

    It's awesome fun.

I would like to be there, but iso and all that crap.

    Maybe next time?

You telling me there's no reason to have a 5 star head, and 6 point torx will suffice?

Or having different Phillips head screws other than JIS?

Basically they call if for "security", so people dont work on cars that dont know how.

I just believe in a big conspiracy.
