  1. Hi to all this has been a great thread i have read through alot of pages not all, i own a 340Rwkw R32 GTR with -9 garret turbos on 98 ron fuel with a PFC Ecu and all supporting mods blah blah blah. Basically not to get of topic Im interested in running a WMI to see if i can get a little more grunt mid range grunt with more safe boost, as my turbos run out of puff on 18Psi up around 7200-7500rpm. Can any kind member be able to recommend a reputable work shop in Sydney NSW that can install this kit for me as Im not interested in DIY rather pay for the peace of mind ive spent enough on my re build already dont need to risk another haha. This has been such an interesting read and id rather like to try this than go the expensive route of E85 fuel. cheers, Dave
  2. Hi there has anyone had any experience with using water methanol injection setup. I have heard some great power gains with these kits but I'm after hard evidence before I consider installing one to my GTR. I'm running -9s on 98 Ron making 340RWKW. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Dave.
  3. looks very nice i sent rips an email ill wait and see what he says. cheers, Dave
  4. Hi im after a quality BAFFLED oil catch can can anyone help me with where i can buy one please i know i can get JJR and other cheap items that dont do there job i want a proper baffled can those that know the difference please any links, numbers or names to buy is much appreciated. cheers, Dave
  5. who knows probably not i guess the standard GTR coolers are good for at least 300rwkw ive been told but but unless you are able to meter it like dyno runs repeatadly and check intake temp readings and change who knows mine was coincidence as i bought the JJR cooler just because i had already upgraded everything else so this seemed logical to do. Just so happened that the whole hot intake charge episode happened to me so i addressed this and lucky enough and more money later got it re tuned and Wallaa!!!, i was in the business car tuned and intake temps beautiful. id say for power under this the JJR cooler should be fine no probs at all. cheers, Dave
  6. I bought a JJR tube and fin cooler for my R32 Gtr built motor etc and up when i was getting it tuned when we reached the 300rwkw range with upgraded turbos -9 twins, ecu, cams, exhaust ALL the bolt on mods it started getting inefficient on the dyno couldnt take the repeated dyno runs and cool properly anymore. i changed to a Trust tube and fin core design ive got photos of these side by side with the JJR and DAMN the end tank swept design, angles everything the way it carries the air into the cooler also looked at it with a led light the internal fin design totally different the Trust had so much more tech inside the JJR looked like a water radiator internal design the air would just pass straight through quickly instead of maybe slightly slowing down that touch to cool or what not im not sure the fins had extra bits on them like extra heat sinks to carry heat away etc etc. The Trust was so much more superior in all these aspects just looked like that it had the R&D and i gladly had paid for money for this. Well back on the dyno getting it re tuned with the new cooler straight of the bat the car intake temps were completely different when repeatedly being pushed hard on the dyno. This time i max the turbos out not the cooler efficiency. Im no hardcore mechanic ive built a tough 362rwkw GTR slowly and ive tried my fair share of chinse parts. All i can say what ive said above is true i witnessed it and it may not be the case with someone else but god damn it cools way better and has been since the last 3 yrs. Im not saying JJR coolers are bad in anyway this is my experience i had and i WILL stand by the jap products and this is also with any suspension components as well this is another story and boy the difference their is noticable as well. All the best guys what ever works for you is great but i love the quality of the jap products and i didnt build my GTR with the scope of scimping on the parts that really count and cooling is major so i addressed it as best i thought possible. cheers, Dave
  7. Yeah boost drops of i am running an eboost 2 what would i need to do to hold the boost better change EBC which i dont want to do they are sp damn expensive. Well i hope this backs up my experiences with the -9s they are awesome, next time round its head work and some -5s been told with some minor head porting and good cams they to hopefully wont be to laggy. But thats a while away for now ill stick with the sharp response of what ive got. cheers, Dave
  8. I have found my dyno graph and wsid docket grant will post these up some time when he gets them from me im hopeless at uploading pics etc haha, I defeinately have -9s R31 Nismoid checked my purchase docket as i purchased these through just jap and they are 320hp rated from Garrett. Slightly slower Mph than i stated as it was a while ago but not far of i got a a 121.64Mph or 196Klms still good for 11 flat if i learn how to launch and go there with good tyres not crap lol. cheers, Dave
  9. yeah you have a point i might add its a rebuilt motor freshened up with forged Mahle pistons and bearings pretty much a nissan engine with all the bolt on goodies to boot. The -5s are they not a 350hp rated turbo i cant remember i just payed the bill and went by what i was told was the next size up. From what i have seen and heard the -5 seem alot laggier than how my gtr responds and from arond 2 yrs ago when i did it all the -9 where the imbetween of the -7 and -5 . Unless the slight increase in cubic capacity has hit that figure easier then that may be the casw due to the slight hone and bore when the engine was rebuilt i dont know just a gtr lover who has spent shit loads on my prized possesion. cheers, Dave
  10. Lookguys i didnt post to brag my figures just my experience of what i got on the rollers now i know different dynos can cheat but but ill dig up my dyno chart and dig up the WSID docket and the Mph is there. 98 ron thats it like i said no pro an amatuer but times and Mph doesnt lie i dont want to get into a big debate alot of guys bulls*** about figures im just a normal bloke relaying what i have seen and done dont mean to offend anyone but if its going to get bitchy ill just keep to myself and keep on enjoying reading the great info on this forum. cheers, Dave
  11. Yes i do grant but im hopless at putting up images on this forum if you happy with an iphone pic glady sent it to you quickly send me you number, might i add i also ran quarter mile time of a lazy 11.6 at 123Mph i went there with near bald tyres stupid me but the Mph indicates im making the power for a low 11sec. If i wasnt making decent power i doubt i could run that speed, im no pro an amatuer but thet all say your Mph dictates real power of engine so she must be whats my dyno print out is i guess. cheers, Dave
  12. I have the -9s in my R32 gtr with all supporting mods fuel, exhaust, adj cam wheels, pfc, no head work, cooler, split fire for ignition, etc on 18psi i made 362rwkw max out the turbos. Response is fantastic it might not be as quick as the -7s but all there by 3600rpm and holds hard all the way to 7200rpm. minor lag but mid and top no sacrifice or drop of. Really for the street i agree these are the ultimate and nothing better when a wrx driver leaps ahead thinking hes got you and your -9s kick in a moment later and all he remembers is my beautiful big red dinner plate rear lights pulling away into the distance. i had the -7s originally and they responded quickly but ran out of puff to early and thats where i wanted them to pull hard to redline but they drop of leaving a sour taste in your mouth of disappointment, everybody has their opinions i not saying mine is the correct but having had both -9s all the way if i had done some head work the -5s i would consider but these are alot laggier for the street so the -9s will suit light track work better i gather as well. Hope this helps anyone trying to choose which avenue to go. cheers, Dave
  13. Sorry which one was that? Cheers, Dave
  14. Bump anyone not interested in a cooler kit with pipework just need the TUBE & FIN cooler only not a bar and plate guys please know the difference because there is haha so many with bar and plate but I advertised tube and fin. Cheers, Dave
