  1. Hey guys in a bit of a pickle with my skyline at the moment. Whenever you start it after it has been sitting for more than a few hours it coughs and splutters apon starting until you give it some revs and it comes good. I have done the following things to try to fix it... - Spark pkugs -Coil packs got coated in high temp silicon to prevent them arcing out - Cleaned out my AAC valve thoroughly Now it seems the top of piston 2 is wet and it isnt water or oil, so im guessing my injector is leaking. But I have had them all rebuilt about 8 months ago and the car has been off the road so lucky to have had 2 hours of running time since then. Now my second issue is when you rev the car to about 3,000 rpm and hold it there it coughs and splutters but anything over or under by about 500rpm it doesnt happen. Then it has a rough idle for about 10 seconds after it returns back down to 900rpm (idle) Do you think injector could cause both of these, or ecu issues? Also randomly at Idle the car will turn itself off without any signs of stalling etc. Has a brand new battery. Im thinking it has something to do with my turbo timer as sometimes it wont shut my car off, you hear the relay click in the dash, and nothing happens. Any ideas would be really good.
  2. I had planned to do it this week but have not got round to it. Will get the bleed done in correct order and report back
  3. Hey all, I have a 33 gtst skyline in which has just had the engine put back into it. I replaced the clutch, had the flywheel machined and replaced the spigot bush and throwout bearing. I double and triple checked everything, or so I thought? Once I had the engine started and running, Whenever the clutch was depressed I would get a horrible whine which I believe is a distinct throwout bearing noise. I had greased the imput shaft and made sure it was sliding fine before the engine went back in and bolted up. I went for a few drives and it seemed to go away at times, and sometimes the noise was there. But on the way back home I felt a vibe through the pedal and only had half my clutch distance in the pedal. For this reason I couldnt get any gears and the noise had returned. I pushed the car back home and parked up for the night. I couldnt get gears when the car is off or on, I still only had half my pedal, and cant select gears without using the clutch either. The fork on the slave cylinder seems to be pressed right against the bellhousing, as in, the slave rod is pushed right out, which I dont think it should be with no pressure on the clutch pedal. Now over the past week ive been doing a little reading and ive come across a few possible issues including the obvious things like master cyl and slave cyl and things like broken pivot point, slave rod too short etc. I decided my car was nearing 16 years old now so I would treat it with a new master and slave combo and hopefully in the process it might fix my issue. Apparently not.... Now with the new slave and master on the car, I can not for the life of me get any feeling or resistance in my clutch pedal. I can however select gears again without using the clutch. But Ive tried adjusting the pedal right out, I even turned up a longer slave rod.....no feeling in the clutch.....So the obvious thing was to bleed it again, and again and again. That done and 500ml or more of brake fluid used, nothing has changed. Now ive just come across a bleeding guide in one of the forums which I will try to follow step by step tomorrow to see if that makes any difference which im hoping it will. Im also hoping that was my problem all along, which I have a sneaky idea that it wont be Im thinking maybe I might have to drop the box out and inspect further, possibly a broken fork pivot point (BUT THE FORK MOVEMENT SEEMS FINE!) im so stumped its not funny and would love any help anyone has to offer. I will continue to search forums and try to find something in the meantime, cheers in advance Jamie

  7. Ok thanks for your help guys Il tell him not to worry.... Appreciate it. And visually the 2876r is not small
  8. Ive only ever seen GTR ones too. I daresay they would be quite different? Not too sure.
  9. Hey guys got a good opportunity to swap my highflow 25 turbo for a garrett gt 28/76r as my mate wants a smaller turbo for his 4cyl. Now this poses the question on how to go about mounting it on my rb25. This turbo has an sr20 flange on it (T2??) so its gonna have to have the flange on the manifold changed. Im guessing its gonna have to go highmount and just get the exhaust shop to change the flange for me? Any ideas guys?? Let me know. Also cant remember if the turbo is oil and water cooled, so how would I go about the different lines? Braided is obviously the right way to go. Any help would be great
  10. Yeah I've bought hundreds of things off ebay before and this was my first real scare. I think from now on, its worth asking for more pictures and really looking into the product before you make your bid. And alternatively use paypal as it has buyer protection, in the case of something like this, they give you your money back then chase down the culprits themselves. Haha its all a bit of a learning curve. If anyone is buying HKS cams off ebay in the near future, ask if they are stamped
  11. Unless he has another set for sale no, as I bought these ones.
  12. He told me he bought them second hand under the impression they were the early model, non stamped HKS cams. But never got them fitted to his car so didnt know. Honest bloke or decent liar, who would know ???
