I had a similiar issue once. Was a bad connector on the afm signal wire. I previously had a safc in the car; removed the bullet connector soldered the wire and all good. I found the problem by using the pfc's graph signal trace type option. I could see the afm signal dropping to 0v occasionally; that confirmed the problem.

I haven't been able to get in to bf2142. Still prefer bf2.

On the open road I nudge close to 600km's to a tank. R32 RB30DET POWA!!

Have another read of it... Note the apparently. I've known for some time the above is untrue... I guess its time to update the guide. lol. I don't think I mentioned the R34 Heads are solid either.. I have a few more pics and a few other bits and pieces to drop in it. Just a matter of motivation and a little time.

Kralster.. Yours was near stock. When they are modified they have a habbit of munching third gear without warning, breaking ring lands etc etc. S3girl (Darrens) R31 470rwkw monster, interstate at the drags, alternator failed, fuel pump received low voltage as a result big lean out and BANG no ring lands. The joys. Mine for example.. Slowly cruising, changed in to third started to accelerate at a normal pace and BANG. clunk clunk clunk. Yes it was my fault for running a gearbox that couldn't handle the torque. lol All though that was the only major failure thats caused problems getting home within almost 6 years and ~170,000km's travelled.

Nissan have been using the VNT/VGT turbo's for ages on their diesels. The 100series Landcruiser Diesel with its auto trans is a very pleasant drive. Goes extremely well.

I've ordered a heap of parts in the past.. Never issues. Just this one little order system hiccup.

Got a laugh out of me.. Even though I shouldn't have laughed.. Then a read it was a joke. LMAO

I ordered an RB26 PFC back on the 17th of April. The order was completed and 'shipped' on the 5th of May. Days went past so I shot an email off to nengun, they replied with they are waiting on stock. So why state the order is complete and has been shipped?!?! They must have had issues with their order system. Apparently they are receiving the next batch of PFC's at the end of May and start of June so I 'should' receive it soon.

R34 Gtt Rims Wont Fit R32
Cubes replied to DjeMz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
When I fitted a set up I had near new pads. They felt as if they bolted up but the calliper was slightly scraping when I spun the wheel. So very very very close. -
What did u pick the cooler up for?

Why not a bit of both? Ignore the 'speco' boost guage. lol It was running 9pounds. Oh and the feet. lmao RB30/25 <-- Gotta love the sound

Track or drag day may result in breakages. At least if I break something at Mallala I can grab the Landcruiser, hire a car trailer and tow the car back. It would be awesome though and I still may look in to it in the future. I'd love to hoon around the track sitting up Brisby's (Troy alias Roy) arse to zip past on the straights. lol Brisby (Roy) has some good experience under his belt; I doubt I'd keep up with him.

Marco, When you consider the Skyline weighs less, has shorter diff gears and the RB30DET rev's harder it evens its self out fairly well. However off idle acceleration the 4ltr turbo still has it over the rb30det running a gt35r .82. But by much less than you'd think. Up and rolling.. The 2 cars making the same power but one weighing a 2-3 hundred kg's less (gts4) the skyline runs away like the ford is standing still. Thats to be expected, power to weight comes in to play. Now throw a smaller turbo on the 3ltr so that it spools earlier making 200-210rwkw and it walks all over the 270kw XR6T, off idle, up and rolling its close. Now compare the rb30det 200-210rwkw against an rb25 making the same power, off idle and up and rolling in gear acceleration there simply no competition. Some of you rb25 blokes might not like that but until you've sat side by side with an rb30det making the same power you can't comment. The greater mid range power makes a MASSIVE difference to off idle and in gear acceleration. Thats my experience anyway. No speculation of any sort. It will because its 4wd. Drop it in rwd and see how it performs off idle etc.. Thats essentially what I believe Marco is attempting to compare. All round average performance of the 'package' without high rpm boy racer launches. A little off topic but myself.. I'm interested in all round performance; corner exit acceleration, in gear rolling acceleration etc. From what I've observed (both driving and driving with) a lot of the big turbo'd small cubic capacity motors tend to not get up and go in the lower gears. They beg you to click third and hold it down... Which becomes a little tiring when its a daily and definitely not good for your license.

Very Clean well maintained NOT thrashed car. Can vouch for it.. If its not already sold. All the best Chris. Do you still have the datalogit?

Ok So Here Is A Log Of My Surging Issue And Cold Start
Cubes replied to WogsRus's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Goign by Newkleers xls graph... What confuses me is the injector duty cycle drop and increase ign. timing with steady airflow and tps values. What else is taken in to consideration when determining load? Ignition timing increase and duty cycle decrease is similiar to what would happen if it were using a lesser load point. -
Definitely lock nuts are easy as to remove.. All the more reason to buy an alarm with a knock sensor. I've set mine fairly sensitive; a cat jumping on the car, a flick of the door handle or a light fist in to the window is enough to set it off. Also lets me know with the number of disarm beeps what sensor has been triggered while I've been away.

What Diffs Will Fit What?

The longer diff'd car would. For me it was bout the driving experience and how I drive. You are correct about the longer diff'd car surging ahead when the short diff'd car changes gear but what about when the longer diff'd car changes gear? The shorter diff'd car then surges ahead, and on it goes.. The problem is its much harder to catch and pass a car once its already pulled its speed up. -

Bob, Ever played with ratio's? I'm assuming not otherwise you wouldn't have made the above post. I've played with ratio's in a TE cortina (first car) and my last a VS 5ltr 5speed. Both had improved pickup/response in gear acceleration with a lower (numberically higher) diff ratio. There's no difference here. There's a VERY good reason a lot of the on the ball GTR owners snap up the GTS4 4.375:1 final ratio's given half a chance. The reason I tried a longer ratio is to help control wheel spin through first gear and make it usable; as it is even with a good diff if I plant it I hardly move; it instantly boosts and hits the limiter. The longer ratio was absolutely perfect in first gear but I didn't like the 'seat of the pants feel' in second and third gear. It just wasn't as punchy. It wasn't all 'seat of the pants' either. A good mate of mine that I've had plenty of rolling accelerations against had a bit of a play with the new ratio. I knew it 'felt' slower but to my surprise I no longer had that instant lunge away when putting the foot down. Prior I would lunge away hard and then slowly walk away. With the longer diff it only started slowly walking away towards the end of the gear. Corner exit sitting behind him it really felt as if I had to give it a hell of a lot more to stick up behind him. Prior it felt effortless and allowed slight short shifting. Needless to say the diff was out the next day and the 4.3 thrown back in. With regards to the increased lag... There was no increased in lag vs rpm but it gave the feeling of increased lag as when accelerating at very low rpm it didn't accelerate as quick (even if it was only slightly) through the rpm where it makes little boost. The theory behind it.... piston speed vs road speed. Its all relative. Drop a longer ratio in and at any given speed in any gear compared to the higher diff piston speed is less. As a result so is torque and power, for that road speed. Hope that makes sense. I'm not the only one with this opinion. When I mentioned dropping a taller ratio in to the R32 RB30DET Sydneykid essentially stated.... Your silly, I've been there done that and always stepped back to the 4.3:1 ratio. So on the cards.. Better tyres and smoother boost curve in first gear. -
and all with if not better than, stock response spool lol.

Thats right.. No PCOTY plates. I had issues when I sold my VS 5speed 5ltr. I had nothing but young kids wanting to test drive. I ended up saying lay a deposit for a test drive; if it drives bad or what ever which it doesn't you can have your deposit back. No one was keen apart from an older couple that bought it anyway. I really got sick of time wasters when trying to sell that car.

Andrew.. I spotted your old S15 a few weeks back; the new owner was giving it a bit of stick. lol.

Bugger... On the upside there's not too many commodores getting around with that description

Definitely not the case.
