The VLT (RB30ET) doesn't run oil squirters...... I'd say 400rwhp is pushing near the limits of any RB. The Rb30's tend to have issues with much over 450rwhp, all though they have been known to hold together under street driven conditions at close to 500rwhp. They do run less rod angle than the rb25/26's so this may have some thing to do with it.

lmao... thats funny as.. .

Ezekial is on the ball.. Ignore the 5psi max comment its pure speculation. The static comp ratio is one very small part of the equation.

It definitely gets me why fuel consumption vary's so much between the models. Its 100% not the displacement as my fuel consumption hardly changed going from the 2ltr to the 3ltr. Normal driving (no open road or peak hour, just local short trips with a 50-80km/h speed limit) with the odd squirt see's on average 11L/100km's, dipping to 10.5ish if i'm really cruisy for the whole tank. Last tank of juice I drove it hard, every set of lights was up on boost in every gear, usually i short shift around at max 2000-2500rpm with almost zero vac and get it in top gear asap and keep it in decel fuel cut for as long as possible. But yes.. this tank, many hills squirts, reminded me why I bought the car in the first place and suprised me how well they really do handle. But yer.. last tank... Bumped up marginally to 12L/100km's. Or.. 430km's to 52litres. The cars running clean injectors and the o2 sensor has been replaced with a genuine item. I replaced the o2 sensor when fuel economy dipped to 350km/s per 50litres. It made no difference, replaced injectors (larger items and trimmed fuel in pfc). Fuel economy instantly back. I doubt this is every ones problem but it was mine. Maybe the R33/R34's VCT actually hurts economy.

Spotted a really nice looking dark blue R33 On Marion Road heading up flaggy hill...... behind me. @ at around 8:40 tonight. Slowed to have a quick chat, couldn't really hear though. It had a set of white deep dish wheels, unsure of make. Looked awesome.

Elevated Idle Problem After Injector Change
Cubes replied to Dale FZ1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Dale, When I dropped my larger injectors in I initially had a few issues with idle. I'm thinking I stuffed up the learnt values within the pfc upon the initial start as I forgot to connect the carbon canistors vacuum feed, resulting in a high idle. Once connected the idle was all over the place and wasn't going to settle down, init and idle reset was the only thing that fixed it. The ONLY solution in my case, get the pfc to relearn idle: Disconnect the aac plug and reset idle to as close but not over the target set within the pfc, I then had to init the pfc and let it do its idle thing. My PFC won't do the idle relearn if I disconnect the battery etc, it's still niggly with the high idle etc, but once done the above it was perfectly fine. At a later date my carbon canistor crapped it, I could hear an ever so slight whistle from the carbon canistor, upon replacement it once again stuffed the idle required an idle reset. If left untouched it does idle ok and learns a little but still has the odd high idle and hunt which gets under myskin, once an idle reset (manual adjustment + init then learn) it idles 100% perfect all the time) -
Its illegal to drive a GTT in melbourne at 18yrs old? Here in SA there's no restrictions.

Replacement / Repair Of Vspec Diff
Cubes replied to paulr33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If its a visc. lsd then its just worn and really not much you can do to repair it. If its a mech clutch type lsd then the clutchs are worn. If a gear was busted it would be clunk, clunk, clunk. I don't know what the idea behind the active lsd's are, is it a form of traction control or does it lock the diff upon acceleration? EDIT: All I could find was... # Active LSD system splits the torque between the rear wheels. -
I've had a car in the past where I swear other cars are magnetically attracted to it. I really felt as if I was going to be in a serious accident, the last straw was after some on ran a red light I swerved, the redlighter hit the car next to me his arse end was swinging towards me, I swerved again on to the opposite side of the road and then swerved again to get back in to my side of the road nearly cleaning up the traffic light. Pulled over, the redlighter stopped, we discussed what happened, he was clearly pissed, he then said, its time for me to go, jumped back in the car and off he went. The car then soon went up for sale and shortly after the Skyline was bought, owned for 4.5years and I almost never have issues with other cars being magnetically attracted to it. If that were to happen again *driver attempts to take off* I would do everything in my power to grab their keys, I have no problems handling my self so if push came to shove I would defend myself. These drivers need to face up to the mistakes they have made and not run; weak pieces of crap.

Replacement / Repair Of Vspec Diff

Its easy enough for them to rip the center out and check if its visc or mech. Another option if your not so keen on a clunking and bucking mech. (subjective) is a s/h GTR center, they are a mech clutch lsd but not as harsh as an aftermarket lsd, if I were to go down this route I would have it shimmed lightly to ensure its relatively tight. -
I just had a little play on mine, it still doesn't appear to fully support the AP Engineering PFC. Give it a shot on the newer pfc's as they use a different read/write method. The advantage of FC-Tune is its ability to provide higher resolution logs, as many of you may know who have had a fiddle with the datalogit is its logging ability is a tad slooow.. From memory it was just under 2samples per second.

Maybe your part numbers over there are different to that of Australia's, Hence the AU on the end of the part number of the filter I was supplied.

I think some ppls need to do a little reading up on oil. www.bobistheoilguy.com

Rb20det With Garett Gt2871r To Laggy?
Cubes replied to ZILR-34's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
lol.. yes.. Easy to confuse it with the power curve. -
A bit like the do an oil change and it feels faster or smoother syndrome.

Offers still up. All though I've started to experience the odd pop myself. Its fairly random but sounds very much like the start of a coil problem. Give it a bit of stick through second one time its fine, the other i get a bit of pop pop pop pop...

Yes first impression was it was high quality. I buy from Grand Nissan. http://www.grandnissan.com.au/ Good blokes down that way and know how to use a computer to track down what parts are required.
-
Busky2k, Head down to nissan they are around $8.98 or soemthing from memory, thats what my last one set me back. I grabbed one to check it out, they do look very good quality and have a strange lip type seal. However, I will be going back to the pureone filters.

Damn I'm blind.. I can see marks on the gyprock but they don't look like glue marks... Well nothing like the glue marks that I'm used to seeing. In the past when I've slapped up gyprock with my old man then once had to remove it the glue ripped great big holes in the gyprock.

here here... Hell you can run 30psi through a 15:1 comp ratio providing the fuel is up to the task.

Do some googling and read up on the theory behind it your self, much more rewarding. Yes Roy is on the ball... Just get the correct items from the word go. By the time you by a set of gtr injectors then have them cleaned... Your only a few hundred off a set of nice shinny new items from nengun. EDIT: Ok I've done a quick google. Explains all you need to know. Scroll to just past half way. http://www.megamanual.com/v22manual/minj.htm For your own curiosity type in the gtr injector specs... And take very close note of what ohm resistors they recommend you use.... Nissan got it spot on from factory, well close enough. Which is why you don't use 10ohm resistors; its not as simple as high imp resistance - low imp resistance = the resistors to use. Don't stuff around, use what or damn close to what Nissan use, they are not silly people they know what they are doing, stick to the ~5.8 resistors, 6.3ohms from the r30 is bugger all and works perfectly fine on mine and many others. If Nissan thought it was sufficient to use crappy little 10w resistors I'm damn sure they would have done so instead of using the bulky big arsed resistors they do.

lmao, Oosh... Post it for all us to see... I want to see this lmao sultry look.

Guilt-Toy, Your running 6's with 260rwkw? Have you had a good look at your plugs after wot to see if they are running too hot?
