  1. The GT2535's on the rb25's tend to make 240rwkw so I think it will be half decent. It won't hold much power over 5500-6000rpm as to do so the rb30's really need a nice exhaust manifold. But it will be awesome to drive none the less, instead of selecting second to accelerate hard out of a corner you will be selecting third.
  2. I was attempting to illustrate the rate of which technology is moving. A vid card that is current now is not going to hold up too well in 6-8years. I've had my 9700pro for 3.5years and its only JUST holding on to the latest games now, in another 1year I don't think it will be much cop at all. :S
  3. Don't forget Moores Law ppls, its held true so far.
  4. What colour is the R32? THere's a few around there now. Baby Blue, Nice looking white one with a gtr bonnet, and 2 stock looking black ones.
  5. I'll list my system specs... I bought a system some where around 3.5years ago. Its been good, rock solid overclocked @ 3200+ speeds since day 1. ABIT NF7-S OCZ PC3500 EL DualChannel 512mb AMDXP B 2100+ overclocked @ 3200+ (200x11.5) 1.85v (Running the good old SLK800 HSF with a Thermal Take Smart Fan II using the temp sensor attached to the core) HIS ATI 9700pro, shim removed, old intel hsf of some sort attached via cable ties. It runs overclocked at Core 357mhz, mem 695mhz. I hardly play games these days so its back at its stock clock. Unsure what it gets in the latest madonion benchmarks, in 2001se it used to grab mid 18000 or there abouts. Liteon 167T DVD Reader LG 4167B DVD Burner Seagate 120GB 7200.8 (I used to be WD fanboy until I had multiple drives die on me, I assume they can't handle non aircon rooms on those hot summer days running often 24hrs a day) The seagate item has been rock solid. Antec Sonata Case I've always liked ATI, they release new drivers to address any game issues every month, plus the good old www.rage3d.com forum where the catalyst team used to participate in discussions, unsure if they still do as I haven't been on there for a good 2years. Either way, when I upgrade I will buy what offers the best performance for the money I am willing to spend.
  6. I know from logging mine on the dyno via datalogit, airflow (afm volts) increase with rpm when at max boost. As rpm increases so does airflow, its well know. Plotting your engines airflow at various rpm's on a compressor map illustrates this. On the topic of map sensors... How does it tell really how much air the motor is swallowing? For example, 1/4 throttle i'm up on 13psi, mash the throttle the boost is still on 13psi yet it pulls so much harder. Obviously there is much more airflow=power due to open throttle. Running map I would think this part throttle 13psi boost area would be running the same ign and fuel values as if it was receiving full throttle @ 13psi, as a result it will be rich and not running as much ign as it could, economy and part throttle acceleration would no doubt suffer? Does that sound right? I have had sfa experience with map.
  7. The std R32 plenum has been proven to be fine for 300rwkw. I didn't have issues with running pipeing through the engine bay as I run an fmic that has the in/out positioned towards the center of the core. I use the stock ic piping route then have the hot pipe out of the turbo running behind and slightly lower than the core, it throws a 180degree turn in to the fmic, the cool pipe has a nice short route out of the fmic that uses the stock piping route. One added bonus is I can't be defected on for cutting holes for the fmic piping.
  8. Lol... They don't call it U-Steal It for nothing. (U-Pull it) http://www.upullit.com.au/
  9. Definitely hanging out for this one. I can't wait to see an incar vid of the boost gauge and tacho/speed. You are going to take one?????????
  10. Everyone drop him a message telling him the rb20/25's don't have inlet temp sensors. Possibly point him in the direction of this thread. I did a while back, it may have been this bloke, the web page sure looks the same. He wrote back telling me he has a work shop and I don't know what I'm talking about and that the rb20/25's do indeed have an inlet air temp sensor.. lol
  11. Undertoe, its always a good idea to get the car on the dyno for a power run at least every 6months to a year to check afr's IF its running a nice turbo. Fuel pumps/injectors can and do get tired/clagged. Back to the origional question....... This would be the plan of action if it was mine... 1. Fuel pump 2. Cat converter sorted 3. Fuel pressure reg 4. Adj. cam gears to help spool 5. PowerFC (Possibly including the pfc boost control kit if the current setup has issues holding boost) 6. Tune it and wind the boost up until she doesn't make anymore power or if injectors are limited which should be with a bit of fuel pressure some where around 200-220.
  12. There's a wiring up guide done by ROY in the tutorial section, I dropped in new injector plugs/boots (To suit VL, VL inj. plugs are the same as GTR inj. plugs, 6 inj plugs/boots cost me ~$53) while I was there as it was a real pain in the arse to trim up all the injectors so the plugs were suitable. With regards to making a resistor pack. Buying the high quality resistors that it requires will cost you all up around $100. You are better off simply buying a second hand gtr resistor pack for the same/similiar price. OR... Do what I did and used an Aussy R30 Skyline resistor pack, R30's are everywhere at the old car wreckers. I've seen them go anywhere from $5 right up to a whopping ~$15.
  13. Just jap special or one of those hybrid fmic kits will do the trick nicely. Which Uni? I'm guessing Flinders?
  14. Grab a decent sized screw driver and shove it hard up against your ear while you listen around, injectors various parts of the head etc. It may be worth while ripping the coil cover off so you can get in there and have a good listen exactly where the noise is coming from. Good luck. I had a strange rattle noise coming from the front of my motor recently, had a listen around, tightened up the fan belt and discovered my alt bearings are on their way out It was a relief to know it was only the alt.
  15. Jazza08, This is a rb26dett thread. Unless that is you run an rb26dett under the bonnet.
  16. yer I reworded the post.. it didn't make sense.. lol I've heard of a couple cars being impounded, one on nissan silvia I believe and also one skyline here in sa. I don't know the circumstances behind those incidents. Read page 4 http://www.sa.alp.org.au/download/now/street_crime.pdf Police now have the authority to immediately impound vehicles for up to 48hours IF SUSPECTED of being used for hoon driving. The above vague statement is what I disagree with. There's also this.... http://www.ministers.sa.gov.au/minister.as...7&s=Hoon%20laws
  17. lol funny thing was I or sky30 never indicated we hoon. For christ sake I haven't even been on any recent cruises for this very reason. I really can't be frigged having to speed around just to keep up. I simply don't approve of the way hooning is allowed to be subjective.
  18. PimpnQ45, Hooning is extremely subjective, this subjectivity needs to be weeded out with added measures put in place that requires say for example another motorist as witness. I am all for some sort of hoon law but one that requires just that little more proof rather than 'just' mr. police man pulling you over because he thought you were hooning when really he is having a bad friggin day and he doesn't like your car. It happens, sure occasionally well maybe every blue moon, don't tell me it doesn't. The hellicopter with a high rez vid is by all means an excellent idea, if you do the crime you do the time. The video is there for proof. My comment on hunting one down and pulling/bending one over was written in jest. You sure do have a short term memory. 'He who posts up vids in the forced induction section of his self flying around the back streets of Morphett Vale. (Elizabeth road to name one). Just to show others in this forum what a hippacrit you are.... See this thead... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...opic=107208&hl= And mr Pimpn's thrash vid around the back streets. What is the famous quote 'GOOD ONE NANNA' as you have to lay off the gas for a second as she crosses the road, as pass her you boot it screaming off down the street, mean while she is still only half way across the road might I add. Then finally left off Lambert on to Elizabeth Rd for one final boot. http://www.ozzie.q45.org/Cars/New%20Q%20video.wmv I have a copy if others wish to pm me for it as no doubt this dodo will soon pull it down. I too have a little 13month old son, NO I don't fly around, sure i give it a little poke here and there but never silly and NEVER over the speed limit. In 10years of driving my only traffic offences are 2 speeding fines. The first, I was 19 overtaking a car on the open road, I was clocked at 131 in a 110km/h zone, the second was shortly after, I was done doing 71 in a 60 down a hill early in the morning no one on the road not completely paying attention. So get your hand of it preacher.
  19. The whiteline versions are not complete bush replacements. They are pineapples that simply compress the old bush to help stiffen up the std bush. These bushes are 'stiff' as standard, you can then use the pineapples to angle the cradle down to help with traction.
  20. I based my vote on which party would best benefit the states economy.
  21. lol.. Funny thing was I cursed labour that exact same thought as I voted. I hear there's a helicopter with a highrez camera and radio to take footage of hoon activities that instantly is reported to police where they hunt you down on the road pull/bend you over.
  22. Take note of any fuel economy improvement and report back. Care to share any pics? What I plan to do is use the std lower rad temp switch as the high speed setting for the thermo's, 94degree's is a little high though hrmmm.. I'll most likely drop a slightly cooler one in say 90degree's, really depends whats available. I'll then possibly use the jaycar setup as the low trigger.
  23. I need to make it clear. I ran the R33 S1 AFM. Not the Series 2 pink sticker. So I have no idea if its output voltage is different.
  24. I have strong feelings against gays adopting kids and or using IVF. Its just not on. IVF should only be used for those that really need it, i.e medical problems. If a couple are unable to have a child (bar medical problems preventing so) then its not meant to be. Thats my view. ----- Myself, I look at the party's and consider what they offer to improve SA economically. I prefer to skimp now to be better off later on. I don't have much of an idea when it comes to politics. I can only go off what little I feel bothered to read up on. Which is 'little' as I dislike all politics.
  25. I don't care about the smaller party's, make a choice of either libs or labour, as lets be frank, the others won't be getting in. Libs Labour
