2x from the north..
Random fact Re Sheep,
7x Sheep per person in NZ, we all know that, hence the awesome jokes that never change.
14x Sheep per person in AUS....
4,000,000 people in NZ
21,500,000 people in Australia.
You do the math
LOL i remember reading this when it appeared too..
Dam those people that ask for advice then never come back to let everyone know their level of awesomeness from e-mechanics.
Haha
Just been browsing RHDJapan.. wtf is up with their shipping costs?
Trying to buy an HKS Hi Power Silent for a friends Evo 8, and they want over $1000 to ship it. Same for an R33 item.
I got my HKS exhaust from Nengun, and it only cost $100 to ship :s wtf is their game?
And a cusco master cylinder brace, they want $140 to ship that, the brace itself is only $119.
Hey dude,
Check in the boot and see if the HICAS ECU is still there and plugged in.
Fitting mine the steering didnt change at all. But i hear that if you remove the ECU, then it will go heavy.
Awesome thanks. Might get a local dude to make some up as i dont think getting them posted to NZ would be worth it..
OP? What do you think? Price for a pair to NZ?
Is your PCV blocked by chance?
I had a smoke issue with my RB25 when i had it set up with a blocked PCV valve catch can setup.
Put the stock PCV valve back in, and it went away and never came back.
Only issue is being at idle i can occasionally get rev fluctuation due to the atmo venting breathers.
(because the pvc is connected and gets a bit of un AFM'd air via the breathers )
How exactly do you get the stock breathers out? I was going to try change the exhaust side for an intake side, but couldnt get the buggers out. Whats the secret?
Think i will just go these kind of fittings now too..
I used to keep a sock in my glovebox in my ITR, just for putting over the stock titanium knob when it was parked in the sun. Black + titanium = burn hand.
I have an ugly Nismo butt plug. I want a stock GTSt gear knob. Anyone want to sell me one?
Stop worrying about the hot air its sucking in. What im getting at is that your FMIC will have more than enough capacity to cool the air that it sucking in.
Its the compromise for using the stock piping route. You get away with not cutting the hole for the return pipe, but dont get to use the spare hole for a cold air feed.
The only way around it is to either:
A) Use the factory airbox
or
B) Create a heat diversion box like pictured and use the factory snorkle as the cold air feed.
The problem with the JJR ones is that they arent designed for use with stock piping, only hybrid intercoolers not retaining the stock pipe route. So it will need modding to actually fit. Not a huge deal if you are a little bit handy.
Doesnt help at all when there is no cold air feed, it will just be inhaling warm air fro around the edges defeating the purpose
+1 for stock airbox, or dont worry about it. Your FMIC will do the trick.
Drink more Spill more secrets.
My insurance broker even said that Insurance companies dont have the right to decline you a new policy insurance based on age/vehicle/past etc etc... but thats another story.
You can get at it with the intercooler piping on.. at a pinch.
Take the circplip off the end of the rod that connects to the wastegate flapper, pull of the VAC line, then remove the two bolts holding the actuator to the turbo.
Reverse to put the R32 on But, only running a single vac line from the intercooler piping to the actuator. Blocking off the hose that went to the intake tube. And removing the boost solenoid.
I know hed be farked in NZ with bald tires.
The insurance company will do everything they can to prove they were the cause of the accident.
Not sure how you Aussie do it, but if the tires were "ok" at the last inspection/Warrant of Fittness etc, that generally means they will be 'ok' for at least the duration of the next inspection under normal conditions.
Its pretty hard to make a tire go bald in 6 months unless your doing stupid things. And it pretty general knowledge that fronts wear out alot quicker as they do all the work. Unless.. your doing skids
And people like us, ALWAYS know the condition of their tires.
It will still fail.
And its alot easier to spot a giant fold covered in tape than it is to see one thats been neatly trimmed flat and painted to match.
No you dont need to touch the chassy rails. You do need to trim the bumper though.
I used an angle grinder.

Just take your time.
It doesnt go off straight away after you shut the door. Takes 4-5 seconds, or, if you turn the key to ignition, or if you lock the car with your alarm remote.
They have been around for a while, just Nengun didnt have them on the website, and they used to be quite hard to come by.
Wish id gotten one. My loom is haaaacckckkkkkkhhhhd!
No problems though, i am confident in my re-wiring and tidyness skillz
