  1. That car ruins my underwear
  2. ^^^ What he said. Mine did (more due to unsecured speaker) and it dead shorted the battery. I had just come to a stop on a 100km/h highway at a red light. In the Right lane... with no hazards.. no tail lights... no brake lights... at 10.30pm.. Very scary.
  3. Its still bolted down in exactly the same way. It just has a washer or two. I hear it has a negative effect anyway. Better off with a reverse vent like the evo's.
  4. I just dont understand why nothing is being done about it by the cops! Clearly this guys got a screw loose. After how far hes gone im not sure its would be even wise to go after him! Might take it too far...
  5. I always thought rolled guards like this look like shit.
  6. I would have thought an "8L" sump would hold.. 8 litres? Or why have it? As far as im aware the stock sump capacity is about 4.5 - 4.7l. Well, when i do an oil change im always putting in 4.5 minimum
  7. Seems like alot of people have had a similar noise and it was the timing belt or accessories related to it. I will keep my fingers crossed.
  8. Yep it makes your life ALOT easier if you remove the washer bottle, and at a pinch undo the bolts holding the fuesbox. Theres a funny little flap covering it i think, cut with an "X" kinda. I did mine by grabbing it with some needle nose pliers. Its almost impossible to do it by hand! I cant even fit two fingers in there... *giggle*
  9. Man it gets old reading the threads that just say "get a PFC" Id say the reason hes asking is because he doesnt want to spend alot of money. SAFC2 can be had for $2-300. And a tune wont take anymore than 1 hour. MUCH cheaper bang for buck than a full ECU/Chip and tune on stock turbo. I would go SAFC2 as it has knock readings. The NEO doesnt. The neo tends to be alot more and its really just prettier. Of course, IF you have plans further down the line of turbo upgrades, then just stay stock ECU and wait it out.
  10. I had Yokohama S-Drive all round on my R33, and have gone to Potenza RE001. The Bridgestones are a far better tire. Depends on the cost and what you want to spend of course though
  11. Yeah, it scares me too. But at this time of year its a bit of a struggle to get anything done. Funny though, iv had the car coming up two years and its done it since day one that i can recall. I will get the parts i have swapped over etc and will report back as soon as i do. Hopefully with good news Was there anything else i should change that COULD be causing the then noise while im at it? Currently have Waterpump Tensioners All Belts Seals I guess before i start i could try whipping the belts of temporarily too, just incase its some random pulley.
  12. They look like old coolant lines that arent used anymore since the conversion. Id say if they arent used now, then leave it. And, its PLENUM
  13. For the price of the Blitz CS, i wouldnt even look at the JJR one.
  14. Infact i just read the installation for them, and they are even worse for cutting/smashing/bending than any other japanese or chonese kit i have ever seen lol
  15. I dont see anywhere there that it says no cutting required? Or did i miss it? All the Japanese and Chinese kits are "Bolt on", but the bits around them dont bolt back on without a trim here and there... If you do it very carefully you can do it to such tight clearances that if you get it all filed back nice and painted, its hard to spot. You can also paint the core black so its not noticed either.
  16. i wouldnt play around with it at all without a wideband. And not having RB20 literate folk shouldnt really matter, an AFR is an AFR AFAIK (lol)
  17. Yeah i have a kit, have had for a while, just finding the time to get it in I bought the car at 48,000km, so at a guess its the original one.
  18. Im still stumped. Noise is still there at the same interval, Cold start, around 1500rpm. And still stops as soon as it starts to warm. Car still makes fantastic power, and is regularly tracked/drag raced. Drives perfectly... Switched to Royal Purple Oil/filter's last change and no effect. Still have my stock pile of waterpump/belts/ tensioners etc. Just havnt got around to getting it done yet ha. Fingers crossed its still one of these. If not... i guess one day it will go boom.
  19. For what car? Apexi shop?
  20. "Right Click - Save Image As" This ones going straight to the Trophy room!
  21. That, was f'ing brilliant! Perfect example.
  22. I would say its just because the cars sitting with no flow. All the heat in the block is being absorbed by the water. So when you start it up for the 1st time the sensor will be hotter because of it. Then once your driving it will drop because the thermostat is wide open anyway.
  23. It will be fine. Just start it. The oil will drain just as much in a weekend as it will in 2 months. Mine was garaged for over 3 months under a cover. I started it up and the oil light was out as fast as it always is. The filter will have anti drain back so it doesnt need to fill up 1st. But i agree, just take it easy on the 1st tank just incase.
  24. Your a legend. I actually never thought of that! Iv been running Mobil 98 with 10% Ethanol in my R33 GTSt for a far while now. Seems to like it. Plus i like the smell.. haha. Didnt notice a difference really in power. Maybe just slightly worse economy when carrying 4 people long distance. But its hard to tell for sure. The fuel filter idea is actually quite smart. I got a large surge the other day, like the car lost everything. bout 3000rpm in 2nd, off boost. I wonder if the fuel got temporarily snagged.. Has happened 2-3 times in the 12 or so months i been using Mobil 98 10%. Worth a shot changing it i guess.
  25. Id say its because theres more load on it in higher gears, requiring more torque. And its the torque that'd make it slip.
