  3. I got this same problem, my speedo and ODO dont work, but everything else does, so im assuming its my speedo sensor in the gearbox (which im a bout to go down and inspect). I have an Apexi PFC with hand controller, I used to get accurate speed readings on that before, but the speed readings are on 0 constantly now, so i assume that the speedo sensor (gearbox) gives the cluster (dash) and ECU the readings. In regards to the posts above, I dont think that the ECU gets readings from wheel sensors (on R33s).

  7. Autotech recently done a really poor job on my car... Took them literally 3 months to finish my car (simple turbo installation) in which I was told it would only take a week and after all that time, the final tune was really poor, on cold starts my car rev surges on its own and is running heaps rich.. These guys were pretty highly recommended on here, and I have had done business with them before with no problems, but this time round I was really upset with the job and the price I had to pay at the end. I also hate it when ppl quote a job and then decide to throw an extra thousand $ on top out just cause they think they can.. I dont think I will ever be taking my car there again.. On the recommendations side, Trojan and ESP have done good by me, and have been honest with time, money and work so far.
  8. IMO you'll probably end up spending more in the long run if u buy the smaller mods first. I had bought a smaller turbo (HKS 2530kai) with a SAFC II + tune and was happy with that setup for about a year before getting power hungry and spending another $3K ontop of the $3K i had already spent, and got a bigger turbo and PFC. What I'm trying to say is that, your better of getting a full ECU if your going to be spending any cash at all.. And if you dont have the funding right now, then try and save it, cause in the long run you will spend less and get more out of your car.
  9. When I got mine installed a while back, i made 230rwkw with stock injectors(90% duty), fuel pump, HKS 2530kai turbo and other supporting mods. Dont expect too much from it, if u want real gains and no high boost engine cut outs, get a PFC with a Z32 afm.
  10. Hey guys thanks for the replies. I have a stock cat, and he actually though that might be one of the reasons for the knocking, he did ask me to get a highflow and take it back for a re-tune at no extra cost. R31Nismoid, I got a 38mm external gate setup (Tial gate) and the 3037 has a 0.63rear avo rear housing, and I'm hoping that the cat is the problem behind the knocking, but as for the cold start, I'm hoping he will give it another go and fix that problem too. The other thing I just remembered is that I dont have an oil catch can, they plumed it back, would this cause any knocking? It probably wont show much but I added a pic below of the setup.

Ok, so I got my R33 RB25DET back from the tuner with a new turbo installation with the following: Mods: Garrett 3037 turbo Top mount manifold SARD 550cc Injectors Bosch 023 Fuel Pump Plazmaman intake plenum FMIC Profec B Spec II BC PFC and more supporting mods... Although they done a good job with the turbo/piping installation, the tune im not too happy with and need some advice on. Problems: When my car is cold, the revs surge from around 1300 to 1800rpm (this goes away when the car warms up), the tuner said he had no idea why this is happening and mentioned that the PFC doesnt have a cold start tuning option (if this makes any sense)? The other thing he said was at high revs it knocked too much, so he reduced the timing right down to around 15deg IGN timing and now its very sluggish. He said that getting a high flow cat might fix this problem? Anyone had any similar problems? Cheers. PS. I just checked the Injector latencies on PaulR33s PFC docs, and im not sure if the tuner set mine correctly, they read 70% and -1.30ms, souldnt they be 67% and +0.052 for SARD 550cc in RB25DET?
