  1. I have managed to find a place in the UK who can repair the crack, as if it wasnt there. So needless to say I am a bit releived.
  2. Your all absolutely correct, I took the head to another shop who took one look at it and simply said "no problems, leave it with us" so it just goes to show what one would class as unrepairable another can correct the crack as good as new. Always worth getting a second opinion
  3. I will get some photos as soon as I can, the car will be coming back home this week and with any luck you may look at it and say thats its ok to be tig welded. Unfortunately I dont know how it cracked, plenty of coolant in there. Fingers crossed all will be well.
  4. I am in a bit of a position at the moment as I need a complete replacement r34 GTT NEO cylinder head, I have tried all over the UK to obtain one but all I can get my hands on are standard RB25DET ones. So does anyone have a R34 NEO head for sale? Must be complete and in good working condition. If you do can you please either PM me or send an email to [email protected] with cost inc shipping to the UK and if possible pictures of the head. Many thanks in advance Andy
  5. Thanks for the advice, I can easily trailer the car home, as the garage isn't too far from me. I will put up a wanted thread in the right place for a R34 GTT neo head. Thanks all
  6. As I say, I am a bit stuffed at the moment as I need to come up with a workable solution to my problem of not being able to get a NEO head and as the garage is charging me per day (as whilst my car is in they are loosing money due to my car taking up space) I guess I could put a R33 GTST head on, swap the internals (other than the lifters) and change the wiring on the cas. But I am just lost and have no idea what to do
  7. I have had the block bored to 87mm and now have Tomei forged pistons and Eagle rods, the pistons have been machined to account for the valve pockets and the compression is good. I am just curious to hear if anyone has done such a thing with the head, as I am a bit stuck. I suppose I could get the head tig welded and run it for a while until a neo head comes available.
  8. Hello all I wont go into too much detail, as its a boring story, but unfortunately I have a crack in my R34 GTT NEO head that cant be repaired. My issue is this, I simply cannot get hold of a replacement anywhere in the UK. So this has got me thinking about the standard RB25DET head, will it fit and work? I know that the neo has VVT and therefore revs higher than the standard head and that the cas wiring is different. But other than that will it work? Thanks in advance
  9. Now that is interesting, I think we may have found where the controller came from. I have looked at the picture closely and it would appear that you are right, the dimensions do seem to match with what I have been sent. At least I have some idea as to which model 34 it came from, that way I can maybe ebay it and recover some of the money I paid for it. I will take a pic of the build plate and send it to you Chris as soon as I can, as I still need the correct one to replace the damaged one. Thanks all
  10. Bit more info for you Chris... The chassis number of the car is ER34-001572. The item I bought is not as long as the original its about 1cm shorter on each side. Quite puzzled as to which car it came from as its clearly not for my 34
  11. Heres a picture for you from the top and if you can make it out this was the unit that was in the car before the damage, you will hopefully see that it has no plastic lip
  12. Hi all, Due to some clown attempting to steel my stereo I have had to replace a few parts and I am having serious trouble with one bit. Basically I have ordered a replacement air con control unit and the one that was sent to me differs from the one in the car, although the part number is the same. The only difference is that the new part has a raised plastic lip towards the top of the plastic front cover, so really can anyone help me identify which model R34 it came from? Here are some pics of the item and a close one of the lip. Thanks
  13. I have another head and associated bits and bobs, it was the block I wasnt sure about. Many thanks for your reply though, I will get one on order and crack on with my build
  14. Might be a strange one but is there any difference between the R33 GTST engine block and the R34 GTT one? Just talking purely block not head or anything. Reason, I am building a second engine for my Rb25DET (neo) and I have the chance of an GTST block at a reasonable price and although I have good mechanical knowledge, I have no idea if there are any differences between the 2 that I should be worried about.
