This usually means the cabin temp sensor has failed or been disconnected or the climate control computer is broken. Check the sensor located behind the gear stick surround make sure it is plugged in. If it is, try cleaning any dust or othe garbage off it. There is an aircon diagnostic you can perform , do a search for the instructions.

Dodgy Things You Have Done To Your Cars
sewid replied to rgr34's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I snapped a valve spring in a 1982 Mazda 626 once and the resulting bits of metal chewed the head up pretty good. Instead of doing much about it I just replaced the valve spring with a new one without removing the head for $5 and drove the car for ages. Still went like a beauty! -
Fresh from Japan pics

Arrghh!! Can't believe you still take cars to Crystal in Chatswood. Don't get me wrong though - if I wanted more scratches in my paint from dirty old rags that's my number 1 destination. -
Well in my opinion, "usual supporting mods" means you can supply enough fuel to safely make the power you're aiming at without it spontaneously leaning out and popping your motor. Also in the same basket on an R32 is a full exhaust from the turbos back but you listed that already. In your situation you're gonna need to replace the fuel pump and think about injectors to be honest. Mainly due to the age factor of those parts in an R32. Personally I would go Nismo fuel pump and Nismo or SARD injectors. I wouldn't go any larger than 650cc injectors since you're not going for massive power and keeping the bottom end stock. Also I would steer well clear of manual boost controllers as a long term solution for a GTR and stick to a well known jap EBC like the Blitz, HKS or even Greddy. To make it more reliable get it tuned properly and cross your fingers. It is an old motor with an unknown history after all.

Sorry missed where it went off in that tangent! :sorcerer:

Considering they didn't begin producing the R33 GTR until 1995 i'd say an 1993 R33 GTR would have quite a few things wrong with it......... maybe a little creative badge engineering from a GTS-t owner..

Yes the R33 does have a stronger motor over say an early R32. For a start the need to fix the crank collar issue is gone in the R33 and secondly it's a newer motor. In my opinion the R33 GTR is a superior car in terms of everything than the R32 and R34 GT-t except maybe personal preference for looks. I personally think a clean series 3 R33 GTR is a far better car in every respect to an R32 or R34 GT-t but that is personal taste.

R34 Xenon Lights/ And Annoyinmg Reverse Beep
sewid replied to vic_sky33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Can't simply change back in most cases they cut the wires out making it impossible to fix. Need new headlights basically. Also they usually take the ballasts. -
SuperAutobacs is pretty easy to get to at Tokyo Bay. There's a train station right next door. Let me try dig up the name of the station as it's slipped my mind. You probably aren't going to buy anything at Autobacs but it's cool to see anyway.

Chiba UpGarage is fun to see. Definately worth a visit. This is how I get there: - Take the JR to Chiba - Switch to the local line and take the train to Chiba-Chuo station. It's the first stop. *** Alternatively these days i just walk from Chiba to Chiba-chuo it takes about 10minutes and theres a load of shops on the way but for the first time taking the train is easiest. - Get out of Chiba-chuo station and walk till you see a kind of median strip park thing. The park is called Shinjuku park but there's not a lot of signage. It's basically a long strip of "grass" and dirt in the middle of two streets that goes for a KM or two thru suburban Chiba. There's a lot of kids swings on it and such so if you see that kind of thing you're going in the right direction. - Walk along the park until you see a pedestrian bridge in the distance. Walk to the bridge. - Dont cross the bridge though. Up garage is on the main road that the bridge crosses over. Walk to the right of the bridge till you hit the road then take a right. - You should by this stage already see UpGarage Heres some pics of the way: This is what the park looks like. This is the bridge right near UpGarage.

Crystal is easiest to get to from Chiba on the Chiba urban monorail. Get out of either Chiba or Chiba-minato station (depending on which line you took to get there) and go up the escalators to the monorail. - Take the monorail to "Sports Center" station i think it costs 130yen. From Chiba monorail stn it's in the opposite direction to Chiba-minato. - Get off on the main road side and walk in the right direction (towards the stadium basically). - Walk till you hit the footbridge and cross over. - Walk past McDonalds (dont eat there you're in Japan eat better food!) and crystal is on the left cant miss it. From Crystal if anyone happens to speak english in the office today (try upstairs counter first usually someone there can) or if you happen to speak Japanese then ask how to get to top secret. They can usually help you out with something to tell a cab driver at least.

Don't buy an R32 with non-working aircon. Chances are it has the early model compressor which is impossible to find in working order and $1200 new from Nissan (if they even sell it anymore since it's R12 equipment I don't know if they can). Changing the compressor itself is not expensive it's finding the parts. I tried everyone in the country once with no luck and finally ended up importing a used one from Japan at great expense (very heavy). If however you can look down at the aircon compressor (or up from underneath) and see a sticker marked "Calsonic" on the compressor then it's not too bad. Calsonic compressors are far more common to find second hand.

Dan an ECU and a tune will not get rid of this problem. WRXhoon's white M-Spec gets the yellowing on the rear too and it is tuned well. I guess use a very mild polish every few months to clear it off but other than that you might just have to deal with it.

R33 Air Condition Condenser & Radiator
sewid replied to Pac's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Justjap probably have something for you. -
12 psi is safe. 15psi would probably go ok for a while but on an older turbo like yours you're likely to see your exhaust wheel explode eventually and end up either inside your cat or as dust inside your engine. End result is you need at least new turbo(s) or a complete rebuild.

Yeah pretty much this exactly. Take Yamanote line to Shinagawa. Switch to/follow the signs to the Keikyu line, buy a ticket at the window to Omorikaigan station I think its 160yen from Shinagawa. Its the first platform you see when you go thru the ticket gates. Wait for a local train. If you accidently get the express it takes you 4 stops past Omorikaigan and you have to get off and backtrack. Done this when in a hurry before its a royal pain in the ass. Get off the train at Omorikaigan, go outside the station and take the pedestrian footbridge to the other side of the road. Go down to your left and walk for 5-10 minutes till you hit Nismo. Cross your fingers that they bothered to open up the shop today because half the times i've gone they've been closed for random reasons. Easiest place to get to tho.

This would have been news if it was 1950.

Not sure if it's been there the whole time but there's a video link now. Good story and good work to Jerry and Mik beating these fines.

I've bought off Kparts before and his stuff is great quality.

Seal kits for the brembos are suprisingly cheap. I picked one up from Japan for less than $50

The R34 had a different key to the R32. You would need to change ignition barrel, door locks and boot lock for it to physically fit.
