Yeah this could be the case, you would have to be pretty desperate for wheels to send such bulky things via EMS anyway since it costs a fortune. Although i just received a 132cm long item via EMS the other day.

18 inch price of those is: 26,250 yen per wheel RRP. They are a cast aluminium wheel so the weight is probably going to be over 11kg per wheel at 18x9 offset. So say 12kg per rim. Wheels: 26250x4 = 105,000 yen EMS: 17300x4 = 69,200 yen Duty: 10% x ((105000+69200)/85) = $204AUD GST: 10% x (10% x ((105000+69200)/85)) = $225AUD Customs agent: $70AUD Fees, comission, other: $100 - $200AUD Total via EMS: $2650 - $2750 Total via SEA: $2108 - $2208 Exxy for cast wheels tho they look nice.

Shipping bulk items in a container is always going to land them cheaper then sending 1 set via EMS or sea freight.

You can freight wheels via EMS as long as they are relatively close to 10-11kilos each which is about the weight of a standard 33 GTR wheel. Each wheel is shipped individually or if they are light enough (<10kilos each - not real likely), in pairs. See freight is significantly cheaper though. Duty is 10% of the wheel cost + freight cost GST is 10% of the wheel cost + freight cost + duty So by air, at say 11kilos each EMS will cost you 16,200 yen per wheel or 64,800 yen for all four. Add the 21,000 yen per wheel (for example) so 64,800 + 84,000 Add duty of 10% of that (14,880) Add GST on top of all that (16,368) Total = 180,048 yen At todays exchange rate of 87 yen per 1AUD you will realistically see 85yen exchange rate from banks so landed you're looking at $2120AUD. At this cost you are looking at customs issues and you are going to have to use a customs agent to get the items out of customs. Add another $70 for a customs agent to handle that for you. If you look at the same example posting by sea (7,450 per wheel) the total comes to $1620 before customs agent fees. Bit of a wait but a good saving.
  5. Nice I like what you've done there with the front end. I have what you're looking for side skirt wise I just got them fitted to my GTR this week after having them in the garage for about 10 months and i wet myself when I saw them. They came from Japan and cost a packet (mostly in shipping costs) but theyre worth it. I'll get some photos tommorrow and show you.
  6. OK mate... What is your 15k project car was once someones pride and joy and if the price is 24k the price is 24k +/- a couple of grand. Just suck it up and move to the next car you can afford and dont waste your and everyone's time with lowball offers that just insult the owner. If you offer 15k and don't get a reply dont get all pussy hurt over it and cry on the general forums just move along to the commodore forums and enjoy.
  7. Pathetic time wasters are whats wrong with forum car sales, and guess what kind of person PM's a lowball offer. Bingo, timewasters like you. If you are genuinely interested you call and make a time to go and see the car in person before making a serious offer.
  8. Couldn't find the VIN number? Double check it - if it's right give me the model code as well and i'll try and track it down.
  9. I think you are misrepresenting what your selling mate. The picture of the car is clearly not the same as the front bar you are selling...
  10. I just checked. Osaka Airport to Tokyo Shinkansen fares are around 15,000 Yen one way and it takes 3hrs 25minutes from Osaka Airport to Tokyo. It's a bus for 25mins and a train for 2hrs 50mins with a bit of waiting in between. So yeah, not such a bargain flight really when you have to factor in Shinkansen fares, 30k yen return (about $340AUD at todays rate.... eek). Oh and the fact that you add 3.5hrs on top of your travel time which is already pretty long.
  11. Yes FAST catalogues all part numbers. You need a VIN number to start with and then you look through the part indexes from there. I searched for OIL PRESSURE and found this:
  12. Doesn't seem to be valid. Get the model code and VIN number again maybe?

  14. You should definately be revving it to the limiter in every gear every time you drive. In fact that's why brotech released their new electronic throttle controller (B-ETC) for RB25. Here's a pic of the B-ETC kit: Enjoy.
  15. 98 R34 GTR? I dont think so mate.
