Ceramic. All R34 GTR factory turbos are. wrxhoon has an series 2 M-Spec and pulled the turbos off and they are indeed ceramic. They are still good turbos but not good for much more than 1.1bar really.

As said, 1) look at all the regular things - you may want to get a mechanic to inspect it for you. 2) Easy 200,000 kms before major failures if left standard but be careful since most imports will have their odometers wound back in Japan. 3) 10psi is the maximum you would be able to run with the standard cooler. Better to run standard boost until you upgrade to a better cooler. A GTT cooler will bolt straight on and let you run 10psi safely for real cheap. A front mount would probably let you run 12psi on the stock turbo. I wouldn't push it further than that. 4) dont bother, its more trouble than its worth, just buy the car you want from the start. same goes for auto/manual and turbo/na. Dont kid yourself into thinking that itll be cheaper to "do a conversion" cuz it isnt.

No offense to apexi lovers but their panel filters are horrible. They are just paper nissan panel filters with Apexi sprayed on them. K&N items are miles better. Nismo is the same - a lot of money for a paper filter. Just get a K&N. Sit them side by side next to each other and you will see what i mean.

I would get in on the SydneyKid whiteline group buy. That setup is for street and comes with quality components setup properly. It's unlikely but possible. Most series 1's do not have ABS as it was optional not standard.

I have doubts about my own cat after the weekend and will be sourcing one of those phat Catco ones which look like Magic cats from Batmbl i think.

He's right about that plastic being difficult to clean it takes hours of cleaning and rubbing with various chemicals to take the factory rubber finish off. Keep that in mind when you're ordering. I'd say its worth the extra $50 if he removes it for you for sure.

I want to get my wiring harness protector plastic bit dipped in carbon fibre but it sits right next to the rocker covers and would get quite warm. Maybe the fuse box cover too. I also want to get my fuel rail and regulator painted but i have no idea what finish or colour im after yet...

They do bolt up directly to the R33 and its not much work.

Yeah im going to get some bits done. I wonder if it's heat resistant for engine bay parts.
