  2. No it has a GT30 flange, hence the talk about modification to a cheap manifold (correct me if I'm wrong). Either way... it's well worth it and you'll soon thank yourself

    My Rb26 engine

Is that a clear cover with slots for easy access to the gears??? damn smart idea... and EXTREMLY nice looking... well done mate... looking forward to seeing the results. Cheers, SXTACY
  4. This is an awesome turbo setup at a very good price! I know when I bought my turbo, the RRP was near 4.5 - 5k from HKS Australia (BD4s)!!! Don't forget it's a HKS unit not a Garret, which makes this turbo even better. Whoever buys this will not be disappointed, good luck with the sale!!! Free bump
  5. If you look at the papers and even online like seek.com.au, you will find it is quite common to outline the job description before mentioning the employer. This is what agencies do all the time. Anyways, a person who is interested in mechanics, has the time and finds the location suitable will apply and be told the whole story. Cheers, SXTACY
  6. Shows how much I missed out in the original post. Sorry! Okay, the position is FULL TIME and the workshop will be advised to serious applicants only (upon receipt of resume). Cheers, SXTACY
  7. Hi Dave, Doesn't have to be fully qualified but must have good knowledge of automotive concepts and be able to work unsupervised. He doesn't mind if the person is fully qualified or not, as long as the person can do the job. Good point abut the Vic section, mods, can you please move as you see fit. Cheers, SXTACY
  8. Hi Guys, Not sure which area this should be in so mods, please feel free to move as required. A mate of mine has a FULL TIME mechanic position in a busy performance workshop in Northern suburbs (Melbourne). I guess the duties would be the same as any other mechanic, except you'd have exposure to the performance side of things as well. If you know anyone interested, please PM me and I will forward you the details. Cheers, SXTACY
  9. PM down my way too please, so Revhead's not constantly sending PMs, can someone who has received it, please forward and reply to this thread with who you have forwarded it to. ADVThanksANCE (who can work this out? hehehe) SXTACY (Vic)
  10. Sorry SOLD. Mods, please feel free to close thread. Cheers, SXTACY
  11. Hi All, I have a friend who wants to sell the turbo and manifold off his S15. * Turbo - Done 8,000 k's. - Never boosted, no shaft play and in perfect condition. - Looking for offers above $700 * Manifold - Steam pipe - Used for only 1,000 k's before upgrading to high mount setup - Only recently HPC coated (less than 3 weeks ago) - Paid $900, looking for offers around $500 - $600 This combo would be a great upgrade for an S13 or S14. All enquiries, please email me on [email protected] Kind Regards, SXTACY P.S Located in Melbourne
  12. Hey kwazza11, mate I don't mean to argue (coz I'm new to this forum) but the idea of such a forum is so people can openly ask questions and learn a little from those who know. We were all at a point where we didn't know what a gallery was... However, having said that, yes, if you don't know what an oil gallery is, please don't try to do the conversion yourself as there is a steep learning curve you still have. But ask as many questions you want, that's what this forum's here for - discussion Cheers, SXTACY
  13. Hey Leewah, I sent you an email regarding the kits, still haven't received a reply. Sent from [email protected] Oh well...
  14. Hey Leewah, Sent you an email, very interested in the titanium kit. Cheers, SXTACY [email protected]
  15. Hey 93: Here is the link for that PDF: http://home.iprimus.com.au/mawler/RB30DET.pdf Posted by Joel. On the VCT topic, 25t posted this: "To solve the VCT oil feed problem I removed the Vct solinoid and drilled straight down the vvt oil feed galery through a brass plug and into the cavity which houses the VCT solinoid. " Regarding my engine... it won't be completed anytime soon (like maybe at the end of the year). I was doing the project as a sideline because my main project is my S15 which has a HKS 3037 and full engine rebuild and a host of other goodies that I'm trying to finish With the RB30/26, I was going to drop it into something crazy like an S13 or I may lose the plot and put it into my S15... now that would be different Cheers, SXTACY
  16. Hey Sumo, That's a great thread, read it again, I'm sure you'll learn a few extra things the second time round (I did). Anyways... there is a PDF file posted in that thread which specifically outlines how to get VVT working. I can't remember 100% but something like you use the oil feed from the block to operate the solenoid for the VVT in the head. Check the thread again and look for the PDF. Cheers, SXTACY
  17. Thanks Dennis. The current issue of High Performance Imports (HPI) has an S13 with an RB25DET in it and it said that it was as simple as locating the right skyline mount and dropping it in so I wonder if the RB30DETT might just need some modifed mounts? If someone could help anwer the questions in my first post I'd really appreciate the help Thanks.
  18. Wow! I have just spent the last hour or so reading through 14 pages of posts and would have to say this is by far the best post of all time. The amount of information, co-operativeness and tracking sets this post in a league of its own! Now I have a question... please excuse me if I should be posting it somewhere else: I am starting a RB30DETT conversion. The main reason is I have bought 2 x 2530 HKS turbos with wastegates which I think would really get up and go with the 3.0 litre capacity. From the posts, I image this is what I'd use: Block: RB30 N/A Series 1 Head: RB26 Head Gasket: RB30 (?) Pistons: RB30 (forgies) to equal CR of 8.3:1 Rods: RB30 Oil/Water Pumps: RB26DETT Cams: RB26DETT (possibly aftermarket with timing gears) Exhaust manifold: RB26DETT Gearbox: RB25DET Clutch/flywheel: ? Inlet Manifold: ? (Aftermarket?) ECU: ? As above, my questions are: * Will the RB26DETT head fit on a RB30 N/A block (I think yes) * What ECU? * What clutch/flywheel to suit RB25DET box? * What inlet manifold? * If I wanted a twin turbo, is the RB26DETT head best or should I TT on the RB25DE or RB25DET head? Lastly, would it be too insane if I decided to put all of this into an S13 Silvia (because the older ones don't need compliancing in Australia if older than 15 years)? Any issues of clearance/fitting considering an RB25DET engine drops straight in with the right dkyline engine mount? Skyline Kid, I noticed you are in the process of such a build, do you mind if I hit you offlist with a few questions? Once again, keep up the great work and let's see some more results! Cheers, SXTACY
