  1. Hi guys, I did a search and found some old info but I am in need of someone to paint a car (professionally) just the outside, fill a few holes and removes some small rust etc, no engine bay or inside doors etc, just the painted bits on the outside. Can anyone recommend me a workshop in Brisbane who do decent jobs without charging a fortune, I'd have about $1500 to spend? (for a E30 BMW) Thanks Cam
  2. Thanks for the comment on the pic, I appreciate it. Yeh I had thought about doing that as well but I know I have seen one around somewhere showing all models even way back with the K??? models (excuse my ignorance on the earlier versions) Anyone else?
  3. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has (yes I have googled it) a decent size picture showing the timeline of the skyline or even a poster style pic showing all different models. Would be very appreciative if someone can help me out. Thanks guys and gals
  4. I'm actually really lucky, my wife is very understanding, she let me buy a Motorbike so that the 45 minute trip to work didn't cost as much each week, then after I crashed it we decided to buy the Vitara that I have right now, I chose this thinking about US and that we like camping and also so when we have kids we have something to drive them around in...... Then the other day I couldn't take it any longer and spent a week trying to work out how to tell her that I wanted another fast car. So I decided on a Forester GT. After telling her and explaining my reason behind it she said "I doubt if you will be happy with a Forester for 4-5 years, why don't we buy something you really like NOW and when our situation changes -Kids- then you can upgrade to something fast AND practical -Stagea/GT- " Then I heard the third most wonderful thing she has ever said...."Why not get another Skyline" (The others were of course -I love you- and -I do-)
  5. Just wanted to say a big thanks to you all for your thoughts and comments. Yes it has helped me a little, Yes I know I will have to drive a 33 before I can ultimately decide. I guess when you get to the point in life where I am, that is, finding a car to be happy with for at least 4-5 years ( We are buying a house in January) you have to take into consideration more than how quick or good looking a car is. I have owned a nice 32, I still remember how it felt to drive, I love the shape and the look of it but it did lack the torque, it loved to rev hard but with fuel cost ever on the increase I hesitate to buy a car that I have to push to perform. The 33 doesn't have the looks straight out of the bag, it will take some gentle massage to have it looking less like a bulky coupe and more like a sports car but it can be done. Couple all this with the choice amongst 33's over the 32's currently available and it may seem an obvious choice to go for the 33. That said, I still have to finalise the sale of my car.....I hate it when guys say, "I just have to organise finance" this means of course that they too are still trying to sell their previous car Sooo. I will wait and see what is available when the time comes. Either way, I will once again own a Skyline and that is all that truly matters. Thanks once again to all the feedback, please feel free to continue with constructive suggestions, some of the points made a really valid and I have taken these on board. Cam
  6. Burko1 I like the wing on your car...that wing is the only reason I would buy a 33 in terms of style, if that wing wasn't an option neither would a 33 be to buy. I guess the thing is that the majority of the time I am behind the wheel so it is form there that I need to be most happy....anyone want to loan me a 33
  7. Good stuff guys Dark I like the 34 pic, I also agree with Ellie, I guess it would be like taking a photo of a little puppy running across an area of gravel rather than a field of lovely green grass.....have to match the subject somewhat to it's surroundings!
  8. This is rally good guys, thanks so much for all the responses, I am yet to be able to drive a 33 so I can't compare yet....most of the 33's I have seen in yards have been auto's which I don't want...just need to find a 33 to have a drive of Drive my mates 33 gts4 4 door with rb26dett the other night, it makes a neat 300-4whp so is quite quick for a mildy tuned road car....it was awesome, much more torque than my old 32 ( it made around 220rwkw) Is this any comparison to the rb25 ? I know drivingt a GTR isn't like driving anything else but is the 26 more like the 25 than the 20 ??
  9. I found a few pics of a r33 with the low boot lid spoiler, completly changes the shape of the 33...still a big 32 fan though... Can anyone point me to a site/thread on here that explains the difference between the s1 and s2 r33's Thanks guys
  10. C'mon guys....surely some of you have good ideas to share with the rest of us?
  11. Seeing your 32 sure reminds me why they are my first choice, that said, I am also still trying to find some decent pics of 33's. I need to see some different grill options, and I absolutely hate the stock rear wing, any ideas of where I can see some pics of a 33 with one of the small rear lip spoilers? The main benefit of the 33 for me is that it is newer and a little fresher looking over the 32....points taken on the power though. Keep the ideas coming folks. Cam
  12. Hi all As mentioned in my QLD section thread I am in the market for a new Skyline (Gts-t) I have about 13k to spend. Originally I wanted another R32 but........read ahead. OK, so I have spent some time checking out my options and it appears that finding some choice amoungst the R32's is almost impossible, there just isn't many to choose from. At this stage I have been looking on carsales, carpoint and the few remaining yards in Brisbane that sell imports....(last time I bought an import there seemed to be an import yard on every corner) .... So, my next question is R32 OR R33. I know there are heaps of 32 v 33 threads on these forums but what I want is some personal experience of people who have gone from one to another and why? I'd love some perspective of what you have found from driving both, at times it appears that the 32 v 33 thing is a fierce as the Ford v Holden battle so I'd appreciate it if we all get along for this time only Looking forward to your thoughts and responses. Cam
  13. Hi all I have read through many of the threads in this section and something that may be of use to all those getting into auto photography is to think about the location as much as the subject. Lots of photo's would look even better if the location was planned/better, you know what I mean? I realise that most of us take shots just after we have washed our cars (in the driveway) but there are loads of great places to better highlight your ride. SO....feel free to enlighten us as to your favourite places to take photo's of your car. ................................................. When I lived in Toowoomba I had three places I always went back to. An old alley way with really well coloured brick etc (my old lancer) And behind K-Mart The multi-level car park at the local shopping center on a sunday was also sweet
  14. yes good points on the warranty....I also spoke to a couple of other people today who also told me that should I mod the car (fair chance of that ) then the entire warranty will be void with most of them. Don't kow why, it just feels safer buying from a dealer, but then again, I am talking about buying from a skyline enthusiast after all so buying private should in fact be the safest option Took a 4 door R33 gts4 S2 with rb26dett for a strap last night....shouldn't have done that want a GTR now But can't afford it so I'm stickin to the R32 plan Thanks again for the welcome guys and girls Cam
  15. Thanks to all the replys so far....so do any of you recomend any yards in brisbane or the coasts?? I don't have to buy from a yard but having some sort of warranty (however good) is always a bonus. I guess the only issue with buying from a yard is you end up paying more than you should ?? Cam
