  1. Hello Martin. Is this the same as the kit developed for the HKS R35 GTR? Looks very similar. Also didn't I read somehwere you had already done a ceramic brake upgrade instead? Cheers Marty
  2. Hello Ben. No there is no tricks to the HKS CT230R except great attention to detail. It's been left how it ran on the track. There has been intercooler and radiator differences between tracks but otherwise untouched. It's all in the details and keeping the weight down. You must understand that other cars have developed further since this car was on the track with the multitude of diffusers used these days. It would still be interesting to see what it would run against them even without further development in the last 5 years. HKS always sets the benchmark with projects which takes others years to catch (R33 GTR Drag / S15 Silvia Drift / CT230R EVO Time Attack). All these cars were built and dominated the sport then retired. You then see others trying to still beat the records years after HKS have switched their focus elsewhere. You are more then welcome to come to GT Auto's Open Day and have a good look over the car in detail and not under the pressure of World Time Attack. It can also be sold if the money is right but $130k doesn't come close sorry. Cheers Marty
  3. GT Auto R35 just ran 1:32.4 and was held up by the Panspeed RX7 so hopefully a 1:31 next time out. Cheers Marty
  4. UPDATE - GT Auto R35 wasn't an oil fire. It was the Fuel Pressure Gauge failed and leaked fuel on the manifold which caught on fire. GT Auto are working hard to clean all the foam up and it will be back out tomorrow as there is no other damage. Mark / Mercury R35 apparently has had a gearbox problem and loaded on a trailer already. Maybe someone can let us know if they are taking it to a workshop somewhere for repair? Cheers Marty
  5. Apparently had some oil on the manifold and caught fire. Problem is officials sprayed foam all over it to put out which is a pain cause that stuff is messy. I don't have any more details yet why oil was there or what happened. They are trying to clean it off for the next session so nothing major. Congrats to Mark and Mercury for the sub 1.35 time. Anything quicker is a bonus. Cheers Marty
  6. Well as it sits ready to run full of fuel it's under 1500kg but I can say exactly how much.......... Cheers Marty
  7. World Time Attack will have DVD's for sale after the event but if you want more specific viewing I know GT Auto and Drew have plenty of cameras mounted on and in the R35. Wait until they are back and it will pop up. Until then you can see some pics here: http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=754055 Cheers Marty
  8. Life is funny isn't it - Good luck on your end too. Your statement should read as modified above though. Cheers Marty
  9. 100% Incorrect. I can't give you the exact figure as we still need to keep some things to ourselves but it's no where near that light. It's not going to be that much lighter than Mark's (Mercury) R35 as you just can't cut that much out of them. Cheers Marty
  10. Below is the results from last year so will be interesting to say the least. 11. Thanks Richard. I'll let the boys know. Mind you it looks very menacing with widebody carbon only.......... Here's hoping with over 600kw (800hp) at the wheels the carbon doesn't start flying off it down the straight. It has plenty of power down low (2200rpm) and even more through the top end. Just have to see how much speed the aero takes away. We know there is no chance of winning the event until it has some more development but it will be good to see what it's like against the Mercury car. Cheers Marty
  12. Sure is. Should be arriving in Sydney today. Didn't end up with sign writing and it's not been tested so will see how it's first shakedown run is on Thursday at the track. Good luck to all involved. Cheers Marty
  13. Hello Brian. When is Jim back and are you going to start some mods on yours yet? Cheers Marty
  14. Should arrive any minute now. Then there will be some late nights ahead Cheers Marty
