  1. thx everyone, i've juggled with all the ideas, and finally decided on what I have to do, I will post up results when its rebuilted Sylvain
  2. Am I too late, or these kits still available?
  3. ok, here's my situation: Did an RB20 build couple years back, all freshened up Rb20, all brand new internals bla bla bla, with an N1 oil pump. The first yead it went great, no major breakage, did 11.07 at 128mph. The second year (last year) dropped it to 10.89 at 131mph, but with a major oil pump drive malfunction, So this year, went and bought a collar, had it installed on the crankshaft. Again went with a N1 oil pump new from Nissan. Did my best so far, 10.42 at 125mph. And again lost oil pressure completely, dismantled the rb once again to fing my ''less than 20km of use'' N1 oil pump destroyed!!!! So here's the questions to the knowledgeable people on this board: 1- Can dropping the clutch (engaging it) at 7500rpm at the launch make the ''little slack between the collar and oil pump drive'' break the pump? 2- Is there a miracle recipee (specific collar with specific oil pumps) out there that can permanently cure this problem? 3- Is it an actual oil pump drive problem or a balancer pulley (vibrations) problem like I heard from shops near my place? 4- Anyone had this problem before even with a collar? thx for any info, and please, if you don't know the answers, please don't post anything, even if you want to tell me that there's other posts like this one. regards Sylvain
  4. first time out this year, stock long block with ARP studs on mains/con rods/head, crank collar done on pump drive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSz6JB1JbYU...re=channel_page
  5. well the season started over here in Canada, went for some tunning at the track to get things going and I pulled a 10.94 on the quarter with a 1.56 60', after some little tunning, it pulled a 1.46 60', clocked an eigth mile of 6.9 at 102.8mph but 2-300 feet before the quarter trap my intercooler piping blew off bringing the strong haul to a 11.15 at 102.0mph, next visit should be a solid 10 run. the launch: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/240sx-R...0-at_162048.htm I see some serious power from 20's in this topic lately!!!!, good stuff!!!! can't wait to get my shit together and get a dyno graph up in here. I'm surely not close to the last one, but eh, got to proove at least the 260rwkw, hehehe. laters guys n gals Side
  6. its still 2720 lbs, meh!! after all this, finding out power output is an estimation, either mathematically found by the car's weight, trap speed & ET (which from my and a dozens other's calculations say that my engine develops in excess of 400rwhp) or from a dyno pull which I have not done yet, but still no method is precise, so there, we can speculate all we want, we will never know the truth of it..., This is interesting info....
  7. Thx , appreciate it I have yet done dyno runs, the 1/4 runs were done on simple road tunning. Since i'm running the stock exhaust manifold I would like to see what improovement I would get using an aftermarket tubular manifold. For the compression ratio, since the stock headgasket is 0.9-1.0MM thick and smaller bore than the Tomei gasket, it drops the compression ratio down some, did not bother doing the maths to know exactly what it is but i'm guessing it ain't much. Sylvain
  8. I'm with him, i've been around drag cars for a while now (dozen yrs or so), and seeing someone pulling off 130mph trap speeds with a 2720lbs car with only 254-295rwhp (190-220rwkw) is not realist to me...I'm curious to know where you dug up these numbers from Sydneykid, they make no sense....and yes I know that running stock GTR injectors and making this much power makes no sense either, I don't know more than you do on that note...
  9. I don't get it either, it's a complete mystery to me too, i'm running the stock rail and regulator, whats really gonna freak s*** out and when I say my stand alone is telling me I'm running 50% duty on these injectors at an A/F of 11.7 constant throughout the revs up to 8K, lmfao. They were sold to me as OEM R32 GTR injectors, they look it, yellow top feed Nissan inj.....
  10. hmmm, I did 11.07 at 128.8mph 1.521 '60, pushing around 300rwkw on 8.5 inch wide M/T slicks in a 2520lbs 240sx which is a much lighter chassis than an R33 GTS-t if my knowledge serves me right, so low 12s high 11s is just about right for this GTS-t setup
  11. I have a worthy RB20 to add to the list, but i would be cheating some, my donor chassis is a 2520lbs 240sx (2700 w/me in it) hehehehe, managed a 11.07 at 128.8mph, 1.521 '60 at low boost (22psi), and from experience, I'm well over 300kw at the rear wheels the 11.07 run, 1.521 '60: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/19672bf...99e00b51eab.htm an earlier run 11.48 at 114mph, 1.524 '60 : http://videos.streetfire.net/video/a8b026e...98e0175d428.htm running slicks of course, 26 X 8.5 X R15 I'll be crancking the boost some this summer with a few more mods, looking to be in the deep 10's, how low i'm curious Sylvain
  12. Hey all, i'm new here, just around to have broader RB engine knoledge, I own a RB20 powered 240sx for 4 yrs now, the project is getting interesting, read alot on these forums and wanted to join and share some of my own knoledge, one of the main reasons i'm here, i'm looking for the fastest RB20 around and I met all the competition here in north america and I seem to be the fastest, since RBs have been around Australia longer than america and seen alot of very potent 20 setup in here, but are they faster, i'm here to find out. here's my project so far: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/630659 happy holidays! Sylvain P.S. not to brag, just curious, that's all
