  3. IMO YES! Hell yes. I went to buy an RB20 to try and do that last year it turns out that RB20s are now 2k engines so not going to bother as no RB is a cheap engine now

I made 260-310rwkws out of an RB20 for over a decade. 70,000kms street driving and probably 60 or so track days, motorkhanas, Dutton Rallys etc. The engine only died because I was sitting in traffic and a coolant hose under the inlet manifold had a leak and it lost its coolant during a city drive in peak hour. By the time I saw the skyrocketing temp and steam I had to keep driving another 2 mins to not cause traffic chaos in Swan St bridge in Melb. So fixed hose , crossed fingers but the head gasket had a minor leak and after 12 months with a slilghtly rough idle when cold etc was only a matter of time until I was going to havea more severe failure of the head gasket so retired the engine. It was perfectly reliable at 306rwkws on E85 and 8,500rpm with 21psi in its guts. The TD06 wasnt the worlds most responsive turbo but its a 2L 6 cylinder that has no problem with rpm so I call BS to the only 2,000rpm of powerband. I think the std internals are strong enough to handle the power you are after, expecially with E85 as the std rods are strong, ditto crank and pistons. If you are going to rev it as hard as I did there is no doubt some rod bolts are sensible if you are going to blueprint the motor and give it a general health check and blue-print. I dont think they really need rods and pistons etc unless you have a turbo and a fuel that will take upwards and over 25psi On 98 i tracked it with 255rwkws. On 100RON I tracked it with a few points more ignition and boost as it wasnt so ignition sensitive so was around 275rwkws and on E85 it was golden and made 306rwkws and thats the boost I ran it On PULP (with Plazmaman and std) On E85

  12. Well Sandown was a bit of fail cake last weekend. Will dump the fluid tomorrow and see if there is any obvious reason why the gearbox has picked up some bearing noise
  13. You'd be miles quicker if you are aiming for 1:40 at PI Back around 2013 was my last time at PI. did a 1:48.6 from memory with 260rwkws and was still on 98 and the old engine. I O ly did two laps on E85 and I was 20km/h quicker on the straight but the front right kingpin bearing collapsed middle of turn 1...that started the 7year rebuild of all the suspension a d driveline Was going to PI this weekend but last weekend at Sandown revealed I need to fix a few things...some as stupid as needing a new dipstick I think my best at Winton back around the same period was 1:36.9 or something.   14. Maybe just a little ... But 270 km/h would be plenty... It hits 270 at Bathurst with more to go....not going to hit limiter at PI with 4.3 for more than a moment..but Bathurst would be a headache
  15. Cheap...$600 or something from memory. 2.2l will be a good thing... Compression and stroke will liven it up

  18. It has an R33 GTR read end and shafts so 4.11....wish I had kept 4.3

  20. What is dog shit with the Collins kit? Can't find an rb25 box , not even on Yahoo so need as a fix and the CD009 makes sense with a bit of bashing

  22. Ran out of brake pads with two sessions to go so missed the chance to have a proper go after getting familiar with the layout and the car...but oh well. There is always next year. You can see the lines of pad material that fell out of the wheels when I returned to the pits.
  23. Well , after a break in and some scum bags stealing a lot of gear from the car I have finally got it back up and running. Took +12 months to replace stolen parts and work around Covid...but....Just in time to make Bathurst last week Tidied upo the engine bay, freshened up the head with some light headwork, new headgasket and oil pump, sump and a lick of paint.
