  1. Check out the MSD ignition thread. The DIS-4 has a soft-touch rev limiter. It randomly drops cylinders and picks them up on the next revolution, instead of dropping all cylinders at once. You can basically stand on the rev-limiter all day.
  2. Check my sig Once I change over to the MSD setup I'll ditch the waste of money iridium plugs and go with copper NGK BCPR7ES gapped to 1 or 1.1mm. BezerkR32 what gap are you running?
  3. I'm in need of a two-step and ignition-cut rev limiter. I've pretty much decided on the MSD DIS-4 ignition setup, DIS-4. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the DIS-4? I've read a few things about their short longevity. Anyone use this setup?
  4. HKS GT-RS turbo brand new should be around $1900US. Take 1400r's advice and install it yourself!
  5. $2400 is a little steap for that turbo used, rebuilt or not.
  6. I don't know how the SR20 compares to the RB20 as far as power output goes, but I currently have an HKS GT-RS turbo on my SR20 making 250rwkw. Boost is 1.2bar, 260/12mm cams, PowerFC D-Jetro, port and polished head, 1.1mm headgasket for 8.8:1 compression.
  7. Work on getting a fuel pump, Z32 MAF, FMIC, power fc, and injectors first. Then after that worry about the turbo.
  8. So you have a bone stock car except for the exhaust?
  9. No it's better to get your car tuned professionally. It isn't exactly the same as re-inventing the wheel and there is no such thing as a "proved map". Yes there is a base ignition map to start with.
  10. I know lots of experinced drifters that run over 14psi. I run 19psi, but I'm not saying I'm experinced My shop's car runs 22psi. Most of the D1 cars are setup around 1.4+bar.
  11. Umm you'll have to get it tuned. Even if someone had the exact same setup as you their map won't necessarily work for you.
  12. Yeah 5-6k rpms would be like a T78/88!
  13. Any reason why you aren't going the SR20DET route? That would keep the balance of the car better than a heavy RB20. Maintenence is just like any other car. I change my oil every month, but I drift pretty hardcore. When you put the engine in get a new fuel filter, change the transmission oil, diff oil, spark plugs, and air filter. Fuel capacity is based on the size of the gas tank not the engine. Mods sound good. Basic upgrades are intake, exhaust, fmic, clutch, boost controller, piggy back ecu, rb25 turbo, lsd, etc.
  14. A bigger fuel pump will not give it anymore power at the current boost level, unless your car is leaning out which would be really bad. Do you have your dyno charts?
