  1. I did study some thermo dynamics at uni, but not enough to comment on the subject well enough. judging by the efficiency of solar panels, the amount of energy you could gain from these "heat cells" would be very low.
  2. just had another look at the pic. even if the perspective thing did make the spoiler look so much smaller, then why can't the rear tyres be seen underneath the car on the front view. They are almost the same viewing distance behind the viewing point as the spoiler, and are not set as far apart, yet they line up directly behind the front tyres............. here's another look
  3. are you guys sure that is the real deal? From the rear photo is has a huge spoiler that extends to the furthest extents of the body. from the front photo, the spoiler can hardly be seen and is definately smaller

  7. power is down from 285kw (VY series2) to 270kw because the drivetrain can't handle any more ATM. Also, it's auto only. Different weights are being thrown around, but i've heard from more people that it's just over 1800kg - up about 100kg from the std monaro I think. Someone else also said that unlike FWD magna's etc there is not going to be as big a weight penalty by powering all 4 wheels, as the rear drive part is the heaviest.
  8. pardon my ignorance, but what is the need of air filter socks for road cars. I used things called filter skins (several at a time) as an initial barrier for my foam filter on my dirtbike, especially in very dusty conditions. They trap 90+% of dirt so you can rip them off anytime and clean them and it saves the arduous task of cleaning a dirty oiled foam filter and re-oiling. I hope i am talking about the right thing..........:tomato:
  9. true. a car that has done under 100,000 k's really shouldn't have any significant wear on interior parts.
  10. sydneykid, could you explain what you said about an RB25 being 90% efficient, and an F1 being 97.2% efficient? from where are these values taken? I guessing not from the chemical energy of petrol to flywheel power. From the little amount of mechanical eng. that i studied i was under the impression a petrol car, overall, was about 30% efficient
  11. pentae, how about an oz delievered R32. They would hold their value a bit better than import GT-R's, as well as being less likely to be thrashed, even more so than some 33's, considering they were a $180,000 or so car when they were new in 91. If seen a few for sale (only 100 delivered).
