Stock EVO 7 has 383NM, stock R34GT-R has 373NM and R34GT-T has 343NM, and I think the torque in the EVO comes on earlier too... WTF is wrong with our bigger capacity 6 cylinder motors, even the over-hyped GT-Rs donk is less than this small 2L 4 cyl Mitsi motor..what an embarassment to the Nissan straight 6 clan, sure power isnt everything, BUT at least in this category we should have significantly more torque than the 4G63.

Hi Sime, thanks for the reply - if its fallen off, I can still pull it up by the wire that connects it to the lid in the tank can't I? Its a strange sender my one, it reads correctly most of the time but the other 40% of the time it can go up/down/play games, usually when the tank is halfway or less full.

Ahh so basically I just fill up today and realize that my 34 has used around over 19L/100KM, the thirsty bastard! It pretty much always used to go 15-16L/100KM everytime and these last two weeks of driving 200KMs, it drinks more - my driving style hasnt changed - I do the occasional 15 second short burst of limiter bashing madness daily when I can, the rest of the driving is normal and relaxed, but spirited when the road is clear...eeeh Now the issue is I have changed my fuel pump a couple or so months ago and since then I have a small leak in my boot - I have a new fuel tank seal sitting around, just cant be arsed fitting it - its a pain opening that goddamn knurled plastic cap on the fuel tank. I know theres a leak because I can smell fuel in the cabin esp when it is a fuel tank, not empty. But not always, sometimes theres no smell of fuel even though I know I have a lot of gas in the tank. So the question - can my tank leak THAT much fuel to make my economy go from 15 to 19L/100KM????? If yes, then time to change that seal!

good luck mate, puts a downer on me as one day i will have to sell mine too, and I know how hard its guna be..I bought mine for 14k a year ago with 86000kms and it had a few tasty mods to boot.

nice clean ride, should sell easy at that price, if not then people dont know how to spot a good deal..

hey dude I have changed my pump in my 34 but couldnt figure out where in the tank the sender is mounted - could u enlighten please? the fuel sender wire disappears from the lid connection to somewhere in the tank, do I need to remove the pump with bracket too??

I swapped my stock cat for a hiflow LOBOKKA (ebay) metal cat with 100cpsi, difference was barely noticeable except in mid-top but even so its bugger all.. Already had a full 3" system from turbo (but dump is stock ), 12psi boost, FMIC, Nistune ecu, Walbro fuel pump etc.. The cat made stuff all difference in my ride, maybe my exhaust system wasnt bad to begin with..

haha well said, lol at charade, VN commodore and soarer hehe..yes basically its what YOU want to drive, I love my 34GTT to bits and the next thing I want to drive is an EVO 7..

V35 is not much of a boat, it actually looks a fair bit smaller than a 34 taxi, and R35s could be erm - race boats or whatever you like to call them, but then again, a soarer is a nice - erm luxury boat, what do you guys reckon..?

please no GTA and definitely no auto / tiptronic - I saw these GTAs the other day when lookin at EVO 7 on carsales and I went 'what the...' An auto evo omg.. And about soarers...erm nice boats them soarers...they remind me of a huge blob of jelly everytime i see one.....but they do have the best interior of all Jap sports cars....but again they are big BOATS to cruising to bahamas in..

No, ur wrong, by 'god of jap supercars' i meant the over-hyped GTR of course - read "not even with its 6 cylinder twin turbo donk and all the electronic wizardry." Only the GT-R has that. I put GTT/GTR together as they r both skylines, albeit very similar and also quite different as well.. It is kinda embarrassing to have to compare a nice sports coupe like the skylines against a 4 door 'performance lancer' / shopping trolley which has every chance of kicking our Nissan's ass..

GT2835?? Im thinkin of hypergear atr43 to get 280ish rwkw, and yes need some cheap rear SOFT coilovers - current cuscos are hard - too much wheelspin in 1st and 2nd sometimes even with low power of around 210ish rwkw, stock blower, 12psi

Does someone local have a 'quick' gt-r that I can sit in for 10mins to re-gain my confidence and old love of skylines and forget about EVOs -- for a while...

so u can say that i havent been in any quick skylines or GT-Rs etc

have driven just one stock R32 GT-R with full exhaust only and it was far from quick, not at all, a laggy bastard, the stock blue 2 door 99 model STi I drove was a much better, quicker and nimbler drive, the lightly modded old evo 3 I sat in would poop on either of these cars -- easy! !

umm I think looks and interior even is subjective - IMO the R34GTR / GTT looks a lot better than a 4 door evo / sti anyday, and the interior of the 34 also has a nice quality feel to it - thick leather like handbrakes, stubby gearknob, nice chunky steering wheel, seats, those analogue dials in the centre all add a a nice touch, eg compared to an evo or cheap n nasty silvia interior.. Looks - the 2 door 34 with the proper stance - masculine and sexy, can you say that of an evo.. But performance - GTT/GTR - this is where it gets disappointing on all fronts - the super-hyped 'god of jap supercars' cannot keep up with a 4 door 'performance lancer' mod for mod on the street, not even with its 6 cylinder twin turbo donk and all the electronic wizardry..I'm talkin mod for mod here, on a long straight stretch or 0-300km/h, surely the GT-R and even GTT will have it, but who goes driving to those speeds anyway????? Phaarking evos - make our skylines look over hyped and embarrssing in some respects.. Was always a skyline fanboy, will always be, but am also showing big love to the ugly mitsy now... future car - DEFINITELY

yes thats one thing - 4 door sports cars - dont look as good as a 2 door - but agree in everything else the evo dominates..

Evos are quick cars for sure - A to B nothing would touch them on a street IMO, its a shame they have a cheap ass Lancer shell and crap interior..

And gtstscot, building a 700hp car, why not go a supra, much easier and better platform for the numbers- except the gtr has the superior awd and better aftermarket support.. But evo for me as its guna be a street ride, no big power numbers, shame they dont look good and is the 4g63t as reliable as an rb?? I also read somewhere that evos can be thirsty driven hard..
