32 GTR calipers and rotors should fit. You will have to cut away part of the backing plate.

Yes I don't think its a viable mod for most people. I think the point of the article was that for an OEM manufacturer the cost would be very small as the design would be built in to the manufacturing process.

Why on earth would you change to an expensive, noisy, defectable exhaust with no obvious benefits? Buy some better wheels and tyres or even a sound system or restaurant meals for better value for money!

I've read it. Looks good in theory and has apparently had good results if the article is to be believed. I am a little surprised that it hasn't been done before but it looks to have the potential to increase efficiency and hence power and/or economy. Hopefully we will see more in the future.

I think it extremely unlikely that you will get a fabricator to come to you. If you can't describe what you want done you will have to take your car (on a trailer if necessary) to the fabricator.

R33 s1 converting to s2 transmission
KiwiRS4T replied to Schneida93's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Double check that its going to work first. Some cars had the auto ecu in the engine ECU others had a separate auto ecu. Don't know if this a a problem for you but do the research first. -
Just ring the suppliers instead of speculating.

Using ARP RB26 flywheel bolts in RB25DET
KiwiRS4T replied to Bradbrooo's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Just wind one in and see how much is left sticking out and compare that to your flywheel thickness. -
And have a look around the Nistune site.

Quite right but wear on the tyres can make more difference than .03 in the ratio which is insignifcant.

Custom exhaust system. Any good?
KiwiRS4T replied to james1999's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
A custom exhaust is just as good as the person who designs and makes it. Most Japanese off the shelf exhausts have a restrictor that reduces a 3in system to 2 1/2 in so I avoid them. For best results post up your city at least and maybe somebody will recommend a good fabricator. You don't say what kind of car you have but a cat back exhaust means that you are still restricted by the current size of your front pipe. You don't say why you want a new exhaust - the purpose will have a bearing on what you should get. -
Sparking Plugs For Tastefully Modified VQ25DET
KiwiRS4T replied to Darkmeat's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Would have thought 6 heat range ok ...maybe 7 at the most - pull out a plug and look at it. Whether or not its the correct plug for a VQ25 I don't know - have you checked that? Is it still gapped to 1.1mm? -
GTR 32, 33 all come with 4.1 diff. R34GTR is 3.545 All GTRs have a mechanical LSD except V Spec which have computer controlled LSD

^^^what he said. Just pouring things down the radiator filler won't do it.

KiwiRS4T replied to spudtatoe's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Try posting on Skylines Downunder and in particular try contacting Koschak who has a 600AWKW 260RS with a Motec and other goodies (as well as an R33GTR and an R34GTR). http://www.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=5443 His is the one with the Autech number plate -
Use a mineral oil (not a synthetic). Push it hard without going OTT and watch for overheating and leaks. Do not baby it. Most of the running in should be done on the dyno with the initial tune. Dump the oil and keep using mineral oil for the first 10,000 and then switch to a quality synthetic.

KiwiRS4T replied to Pr0x1mity's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Take the head off anyway and hope its only valves - but you may have damaged pistons as well. -

Power loss diag update - snow button
KiwiRS4T replied to HailDamage's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The snow button makes the transmission take off in 2nd gear and acts like the dash button for the atessa putting it in 50/50 mode til you achieve about 20km/hr. -
Vipec was the name used by Link for the Australian market - now it is used for their snowmobile and watersport applications so if you are choosing between Link and Nistune...as far as safety is concerned I believe the Nistuned ecu retains the safety features of the stock ecu although no doubt you could put an unsafe tune on it. The Link can have a number of protections built in (e.g.max revs in gears, minimum oil pressure) but it will not of itself make more power than the Nistune ...but it allows for more optional features. It is only worth the extra if you want or plan to use these features.
