Keep breaking gear box.

Rips has built an AWD powerglide. I don't know if he will share the info with but you could try. He would probably sell you a built up unit though. -
RB26 Tomei Type R Cams - Results?
KiwiRS4T replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
No that's not a reason to drop in some cams (because you can). You need to have a reason in that you know what effect they will have and that its an effect that you want.- 125 replies

Your car will explode in a ball of fire. (Maybe not) but if you have a stock ECU your engine will run optimally with the BOV return plumbed back in to the intake. Otherwise the air measured by the MAF will not be the same amount as what finally reaches the plenum. If the BOV is simply blocked off this will not happen but then you may as well not have a BOV,

R34 Gtt Brake Upgrade - Brake Bias
KiwiRS4T replied to chook's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Builders of dedicated track cars will sometimes incorporate bias adjusters. As you have observed the transfer of weight to the front under braking means that there is no point whatsoever in having the same size brakes at the rear as at the front. -

Any cooler regardless of brand that doesn't have a heat exchanger like the stock one has the potential to overcool the oil if it doesn't have a thermostat. Some people just cover the cooler in Winter. On the other hand any car can be driven away from cold (I never idle cars for any length of time if I can help it) so long as you don't cane them before they get up to optimum operating temperature. Driving them is the quickest way to achieve this.

For my own car which had a slight miss at high revs at about 320 AWKW or 425hp on the dyno with new OEM coils and BCPR7ES my (Japanese ex Nissan) tuner suggested PFR7G which fixed the miss.

R34 Gtt Brake Upgrade - Brake Bias
KiwiRS4T replied to chook's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
As in wearing at about the same rate F&R -
You have the colours you need (plus some wires you don't need) You have the red, orange, green and I am pretty sure that although you don't have a blue the yellow serves the same function (goes to ignition). The twin wire loom goes to the solenoid (Mac valve) either way round.
-
Your photo does not show exactly what you have but this PDF should help you. It shows the colour codes for you main plug. Do you have the second plug that goes to the Mac Valve? The wires to the Mac valve can go either way round - its just a solenoid. http://photos.imageevent.com/kadepunk/hybridinstallationguides/HDi SBC-D.pdf

R34 Gtt Brake Upgrade - Brake Bias
KiwiRS4T replied to chook's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I put 330mm 8 pot D2s on the front and the non Brembo GTR rears (with Znoelli SP500 550deg pads) on the Stagea. Maybe it was the weight of the RB30 but the stock front pads chewed out in no time. When I changed to Pagid on the front they lasted 3x as long but the rears still pretty much kept in sync. The M/C is BM57 and the car always seemed to pull up straight at the track. -
I wrote down a recommendation from Trent @ Status: NGK Iridium BKR8Eix @ 0.55mm although they are not cheap: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NGK-IRIDIUM-IX-Spark-Plug-BKR8EIX-X-6-PLUG-/142209111204?hash=item211c52d4a4:m:m69MawV220S1OFuGKgUrZOQ cheaper from the US: http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-pc-6-x-NGK-Iridium-IX-Plug-Spark-Plugs-2668-BKR8EIX-2668-BKR8EIX-Tune-Up-ov-/291529328862?hash=item43e08088de:g:BWMAAOSwgQ9VveiV&vxp=mtr

Speedo is out after gearbox change
KiwiRS4T replied to Wiso123's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yes but do you still have your old gearbox? If the speedo drive from that fits in your box it may help. Jaycar do a speedo corrector (or at least they used to). -
I guess the missing element is the offset??

Rb20det low difference in compression test
KiwiRS4T replied to Harleyc93r32's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
120 is a cause for concern. RBs will go well on 5 cylinders but who knows for how long... Maybe repeat the compression test with a warm engine and pump a little oil in the dodgy cylinder to confirm that it is the piston/rings rather than the valves. Yes reduce the boost back to stock and start saving for a new engine!- 2 replies
