  1. I haven't seen any evidence that they have done anything good. In fact having seen what comes into the catch can from the sump breathers I can't see that piping that up to the back of the cam covers is a good thing.
  2. I have never heard of a Tomei pump failing (which is not to say it doesn't happen). If you fit oil restrictors when you fit the pump and you overfill the sump by a litre OR preferably have an enlarged sump there is no reason why your pump should starve (i.e. a dry sump is not mandatory).Stop limiter bashing. Raise the limit on your ecu (I assume you have an aftermarket one) and put a stop under you accelerator pedal or adjust the limit stop (depending on your set up) to limit the revs.
  3. If you are sure the brakes are fully released get a bigger hammer and whack around the centre. If you can get a bottoming tap run it through the two holes to clean them up.
  4. Heaps for sale here but hard to find under 100,000km http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/nissan/auction-1160404129.htm
  5. Forget the one on the cat. Your post is not clear. Do you have an O2 wire with a plug on the end and no sensor or do you have a sensor and no wire to plug into it?
  6. Oil control is usually only a problem when at WOT for a decent length of time such as long straight on the track or extended dyno pull so for a street car you may not experience any problems. Restrictors are a good idea if you have the engine out already.
  7. Clearly the Cima has served you well. Do you have examples of the Fuga 450GT available in Aus?
  8. 1. Venting to atmosphere is illegal on public roads and also sub optimal as venting the catch can to the turbo intake can create a small amount of vacuum which helps to vent the sump. 2. It is better for blowby to go to the catch can because the baflles can take out some of the oil. 3. The optimal setup has two hoses going from the sump to the catch can - one to the top and one to the bottom. The latter can act as a drain to allow oil from the catch can to go back to the sump. 4. You don't mention oil restrictors - did you fit any? There is of course no absolute right and wrong but the above worked for me and a number of others. Some say that a properly built engine will not have oil control problems but RB30s in particular are prone to them.
  9. Upholstery places, car trimmers? You can get stuff with adhesive for the strips.
  10. I think cooling panels have an effect. The seal with the bonnet is not that good. SK fitted one to his Stagea early in the piece and he is quite a results orientated person not that much into bling.
  11. Low pad warning? Parking brake not fully released?
  12. I think you should get at least one aftermarket gauge - OEM are notoriously inaccurate especially after 20 years. Or borrow a laser gun type heat gauge.
  13. If you are removing everything including steering rack etc and its going into another body you could make like Duncan and drop the whole subframe :
  14. marvelling | Definition, meaning & more | Collins Dictionary https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/marvelling This time when he unbuttoned her dress he did it slowly, marvelling at the velvety finish of her skin. Personally I've never looked at a turbo that way...
  15. What temps are you hitting? Do you have an oil cooler?
  16. They are $6 on Ebay. Worth getting as when people have been mucking about with the wiring the colour codes may not tell the true story.
  17. And if all else fails pull the hose off your turbo outlet and apply pressure via a tyre valve and some kind of plug.
  18. At prices half that of some Garrett turbos freight and duties will mean they are still competitively priced and a lot of RB focused research has gone into them...
  19. If you want a bolt on hybrid turbo Hypergear makes a number of great turbos. Have a read through his thread.
  20. If you are serious about preventing an oiling problem read (at least the last third) of this thread and you will realise that the rear head drain hasn't helped anyone:
  21. How to put your R33 in to 2wd (from the manual): Locate the "air bleed" wire behind the drivers kick panel, it's a plug with a single wire either side (usually green socket, white plug). Disconnect it. Start car. As key comes back to the ON position, within 10 seconds, depress brake pedal 5 times, 4WD light will start flashing to indicate you are in 2WD mode. To go back to 4WD mode, turn car off, reconnect plug and off you go. I have hooked mine to a switch in the centre console.
  22. Search harder - there are at least two tutorials in the "how to" section.
  23. Don't bother, waste of time they don't do anything.
  24. and, if you look at the site I sent you, the diameter. If you don't know what size your studs are email GK Tech and ask. On my Stagea the rears are bigger than the fronts.
