E36 M3 Rb26dett Build From The States
KiwiRS4T replied to dcreech0's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Looks like it is going to be a great machine when it is finished. A shame you are being let down in such an expensive way. Even top shops can do below par work when they have grown to a size where all the important work is not done by the principal who built the reputation. Hope you are on the road soon. BTW can you get this car road legal or will it be track only? -
Extended rear lug studs for R32 GTST
KiwiRS4T replied to planrforrobert's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Whether or not you need extended studs will depend on your wheel type. My Stagea has different front and rear splines. If you are using aftermarket wheels you may need hub centric adapters as well. When buying studs (if required) the advertiser should be able to tell you what they fit. 10mm spacers should be hub centric like this (you will also find extended studs on this site): http://www.gktech.com/index.php/products -
The way to search is to ask your question in Google and then +SAU or suchlike ...hence:

(Not my car) Boost curve will depend on what kind of boost control you have. For more results trawl though the RB25 turbo upgrade section at the top of this page. A number of people post with non-upgraded turbos...

I got Teins from my local suspension specialist. You can get them from Fulcrum Suspensions. Eibach from http://www.eibach.com.au/catalogue/ -

Keep TE37's bronze or change colour?
KiwiRS4T replied to Mr Phatt34's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Purely a matter of opinion and its your car! Although white (in my opinion) looks a bit boring and silver is a bit chrome like but maybe it will go better with your blue car. I think bronze goes well with green (sorry could have done with a clean): -
For 200stg I would want a complete set of Brembos! I would try the 60 ones and spew at paying that much.
-
OK I see why they used 32 box to replace an auto but the 32 had a cable drive speedo whereas the 34 is electronic so not a simple fix.
-
The R34 atessa is always on - supplying 5% to the front until the computer tells it to increase it.. Despite the fact that it has an R32 box (why??) it will not behave like an R32GTR where you can disable the awd by pulling a fuse. If you want 2wd you can drop the front driveshaft or there is there a procedure you can go through which is not simple.

R34 gtt screamer dump divider
KiwiRS4T replied to Nzboii14's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Lose the screamer. Illegal and not worth the hassle. If you have a good flowing exhaust system of a size suitable for your power level you won't notice any difference. (your turbo should be fine). -
Where to start. I don't expect your car to be drive-able by the time you have done all your mods - it will need to be towed/trailered to the tuner. It would have been easier to replace your F-Con with a Link - then you could have stayed with MAP sensor instead of AFMs You need to work out what your power goal is first - you reckon your turbos can make 750hp in which case stock GTR AFMs and injectors won't do it. Ideally especially with AFMs your BOV(s) should be plumbed back but tuner may be able to work around that. Have you got a 3.5 or 4in exhaust all the way through? What are you using for wastegate(s)? Intakes should do for now. Old coils can let you down so if they are original you need some new OEM, Splitfires, or something like LS2 Truck coils or AEM coils. I have not worked on a GTR so other owners will have some more/better info for you.
-
What do you want to explore? There are many cases of Yellow Jackets failing although presumably many have not. Buy OEM coils or Splitfires or step up to LS2 Truck coils or something like AEM coils.

I'm not sure what your beef about brake lines is. The suppliers say that the Evo brake lines (not Skyline or aftermarket lines) do not fit so have supplied longer ones. You say the existing Skyline ones were fine. 1. Your suppliers were not talking about Skyline lines but about Evo lines. 2. I'm pretty sure the original Skyline lines were not braided unless someone has fitted aftermarket lines. Did you explain this to your suppliers? Either you are not accurately explaining the situation to us or to the suppliers or possibly both. Before complaining about getting ripped off you need to be clear about what you are saying.... Also look carefully at your wheels. It may not just be the offset but the profile and/or diameter of the wheels that do not have room for your bigger brakes.

RB25 lifters bleeding off cannot solve!
KiwiRS4T replied to abr33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
No the supply theory is that 2x 1.3mm restrictors are not that small and with a Tomei pump you could potentially be emptying the sump below the pick up ...are you able to log oil pressure or can you watch it while you are driving at WOT? -

OK in case you need it I found the notes for my S1 trailer wiring (7 core wire colours first) all on RH rear white to black brown to green/white green to green (RH) red to green/yellow stripe but yellow to LH side of car - green wire for LH indicator (may be different on your car - use multimeter to check (or just a test light probe). -
Help with Series 2 tail lights and trailer wiring
KiwiRS4T replied to spudtatoe's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
You need to buy a trailer plug and a length of 7 core trailer wire. One end goes into the plug and you have to bare the ends of the 6 or 7 wires at the other end. Ideally you solder the joints and cover with shrink tube but otherwise you can use individual connectors. If you buy the flat connector and the 7 core wire from an auto electrical supplies rather then Repco or Supercheap they may be able to give you some tips on what to use for connecting the individual wires to the car if you are not going to solder the joints. Here is a video for the socket end: -

Repco will have amber light bulbs. Why do you need amber bulbs anyway? Looks as though you have amber lenses... or are the top white ones indicators and not reversing lights? Trailer wiring as per diagrams (you'll get them all from the drivers side but will have to bring a wire over from the LH turn indicator) http://cmtrailer.co.nz/technical/typical-trailer-wiring-diagram -
You could get a carbon fibre bonnet scoop in your carbon bonnet. By the time you have finished you will have spent about 10K stg so the tuner is not the place to cheap out unless you are prepared to destroy your new investment.

Please Google first and then post here if you still need more help. Usually Google will point you to a number of SAU posts as most subjects have been exhaustively discussed over the years...e.g. which clutch for modified Skyline or...what clutch for 300kw RB or.. how to replace clutch on Skyline R34 etc also scroll down to Tutorials / DIY / FAQ and see what help is available there. Warning: doing a clutch by yourself can be dangerous so read all the instruction carefully so you don't get pinned by the car or have a gearbox fall on you !

You definitely need new plugs. Just looking at the pics they seem to have a massive gap - have you measured it? Did you pull all six plugs? I have just acquired a V6 Camry and decided to replace the plugs only to find different plugs on the rear bank - I would say the last shop to service it didn't do the rears because they are a pain to get at...or is that not the case on your Bora?
