I've just recently noticed, due to having a EBC installed (which shows the boost pessure as -99 when the car is warmed up and idle) that when I turn the steering wheel left or right when the car is not moving ie. stationary and in neutral .. the revs go up a bit (the dash cluster needle doesn't really go up but i can hear the engine rev slightly and the ebc pressure goes up ie. it doesn't stay -99 it goes up to -80) I havent noticed this before ... just had the car dynoed recently by a mx5 shop who didn't seem to know a thing about skylines (didnt even get the rpm reading correctly) and noticed this happening after. Normal or what could it be?

edited by admin *** So yeah, I am looking for a good Skyline mechanic in sydney myself. So far Bel Garage - friendly, do not overcharge, but sloppy (see wastegate actuator cover note above) CRD - friendly, decent prices but rushed the last job they did ... I got a greddy ebc installed, took a long time but then the dyno tune was rushed and I didn't even get a printout of any sort because some other customer was having a whinge about waiting long **** Just my opinion anyway. For normal servicing, oil, oil filter etc I reckon you should do it yourself as it's easy. But if you cant be bothered give this guy a call, my dad uses him for oil changes etc and says he's an honest and good mechanic, comes to you too. (Frank Migldalski 0422787878)

lol I'm sure most people will read it something like that ... but yeah, Shane was right it's meant to say 'the reaper'. I'm glad it's not so obvious to be honest.

Changing R34 Climate Control To Leds?
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
nah I'm in sydney .. I might just change my cluster bulbs to green to match the aircon and cd controls.. -
Changed my dash cluster globes to blue LEDs recently and would like to change the climate control bulbs too so the colors match (and i've got 3 spare leds anyway) There's a guide in the DIY section for R33's ..has anyone done it on an R34 GTT ?

what do I polish it with though? i don't have a buffing machine by the way ..

Powerfc For Bnr34
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
no one interested? I'm willing to let this go for a very reasonable price Pm me an offer Cheers Denis -
Ok I've tried 5 different cleaners and none seem to be able to get rid of this crap (even tried Maguires ScratchX .. which btw is a useless product - doesn't do crap on paint scratches either) Abo Bob, is it unblemished and fits a GTT ? If so, do you want to sell it and if so how much?

just changed my dashboard cluster globes with leds tonight and thought I'd clean up that clear plastic cover that covers all the gauges .. Turns out the stuff can't be cleaed. Looks like someone had sprayed some sort of clearning detergen over the clear cover and didn't wipe it off and it just won't come off ... like the plastic is ruined (although it feels smooth on touch) Anyway was wondering if there are any skyline wreckers in sydney ? This is for an R34 GTT... or if anyone has any suggestions on what to try and clean this crap off with, I'm all ears. I've tried standard detergent, alcohol etc and the stains won't budge

Help! Plastic Steering Wheel Column Cover
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Never mind all done First time doing this ... took close to 2 hours. Those bloody power connectors are a bitch to get out!! They're like the pc cdrom and motherboard power connector without any room to wiggle heh. -
Help! Plastic Steering Wheel Column Cover
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
OK got another longer screwdriver and got the rest of the screws out .. steering column cover is off. I've now taken out the 2 screws at the top holding the plastic cover over the cluster but it doesnt seem possible to pull this cover off as the bottom part seems glued to the dash and isn't coming off - only the top bit can be moved a bit towards me.. Any ideas? Edit: never mind ...got it. Now I've got the whole cluster box ready to be pulled out but it's too big o pass through the space between the steering wheel and dash. Is there any way to separate the black and white part of the big cluster ? or do I have to unplug those 3 white power cables ?? -
I'm trying to install some new LEDs in the dash but the first step is taking of the steering wheel column plastic cover ... I've unscrwed 2 screws from below and tried pulling it apart but it's not doing it. There are 3 more holes underneath, I think they might have screws in them too but the holes are narrower and quite deep so my screw driver can't even reach to the end (10cm or so). Wtf am I doing wrong ??? Do all 5 holes on the bottom plastic have a screw that needs to be unscrewed in order to take the damn plastic cover off ?? It's an R34 GTT by the way..

Cheers. One BNR34 PFC for sale then ..anyone interested PM me an offer
-
Item: PowerFC for BNR34 Age: unknown Condition: used Price: make an offer To Fit: BNR34 Location: Sydney Contact: PM Comments: Just got this off auctions thinking it'd suit my car (GT-T) but looks like I got the wrong ecu, this is for BNR34 (GTR). I'm seeking interest ..make your offers here or PM. Cheers

hmmmm on 2nd thoughts ..shit, this might be the wrong PFC for me. The only reference I can find to 'BNR34' is to GTR's. Any chance this PFC would suit a 1998 R34 GT-T ??
-
Yeah pretty sure .. I even asked the importmonster guys to confirm it looks legit and they did ;-) Here's the original japanese auction anyway http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n65582056 Translated (engrish) http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...en&ie=UTF-8 The only thing I'm not sure of is whether this PFC is for GT-T's or GTR only. If it's GTR only I can sell it I'm sure.

Yeah I am not actually fussed about making it a functional vent .. my car's never gonna make that much power for me to need a vent there I'm just after the look as in http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/3361/img5083mv8.jpg The gtt's just look bloody weak from the front compared to a GTR and I reckon a nice bonnet, as long as it's legal would change that quite a bit. I just don't wanna waste money on a complete aftermarket bonnet if the stock one can be midly modified to look like that one above. Do you reckon a panel beater could cut the stock bonnet and make it look exactly like http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/3361/img5083mv8.jpg without screwing with the reinforcements ?? If it can't be made exactly like the one above without cutting the reinforcements, I'd be up for a bonnet 'bulge' of some sort too ..similar in style and simplicity as that car above ( like on V8s etc

New O2 Sensor Needed If Getting Pfc?
Wacky Dee replied to Wacky Dee's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Sorry I mean 300km/50l ... Sooo in short, with properly tuned AFRs on PFC I shouldn't need to worry about the O2 sensor?
