Hey, selling a car for an uncle, car is in very good condition has been sitting in a garage for 6 years untouched due to the owner living overseas, its got paid rego and owner was an old man who treated it well! mechanic is comming to put new batt in it and start her up for the first time. 1981 Ford Fairlane, silver in EC condition has a few scratches on the rear bumper, tow ball and electical connections for towing, 228,000KMS comes with RWC and whatever else comes with these cars! $2500 ono priced for quick sale, however make and offer and it will be considered! call/sms me on 0419029163 and ill orginise a time most likely on a sunday! email me for other pics [email protected]
  3. hey guys im in the process of getting rear tyres at tha moment, i currntly have 225/50/16's on the rear and i have just put new potenza g3's 205/55/16's on the front (front rim is 7" wide) my rear rim is 16x8" and i was thinking of going 245/45/16's rather then 225/50/16's i know they will fit just bulge slightly but my main concern is that there is a large discrepency between front and rear, what should i do, get 225's or 245's for the rear? any pro's con's??? i have found a good 245/4516 tyre for the rear toyo proxes t1-s or falken grb fk451, 225's easy to find in any tyre! thanks guys
  4. hey guys the fm901 has been discontinued and apparntly replaced with the direzza dz101 just wondering if anyone has experienced this tyre and what they think bout it? and what they paid? if no one has ill let u all know in a week when i get some!
  5. hey guys im after two 225/50/16 tyres preferbly something in near new condition w/ minimum tread wear... also something pretty grippy, i.e. potenza, azeni, fm901 etc etc danny in melb!!!
  6. yeah i understand that the front and back is differnt.... now my JIC's are not damper adjustable only height thats my problem!!! there is nothing on the coilovers that can be adjusted other then height!
  7. im basically trying to find someone in melb to do this for me... my JICS are way too hard and road holdinh is pretty poor when going over bums on the road... my rear is perfect, so ill try get the rear bsprings from the coilovers put to the front and new rear ones... my only concern is can i get a spring from an aussie supplier like king, whitline, eibach or do i have to go to JIC... doesanyone know who could set this up for me in melb?

UPDATED i got the compression test re-done this afternoon, now the results are much better but i thnk thier all a little low! cyld 1 128 cyld 2 125 *took a little longer to reach this figure, compared to the other ones** cyld 3 128 cyld 4 128 these seem quite low to me, the car was at temp, and the throttle was fully open, cylinder 2 took a little longer to get to its figure to!! and i didnt disconnect the ignition either, would this give me low figures, and battery was struggling??? i dont know if these low figures are of a concern? anyone, im just now glad that there isnt a 50 psi diff betw 1&2 cheers guys
  9. yeah i know but im still worried that there is a problem now, should i take it easy, should i not run 1 bar etc? i just dont want it to go "bang" what other problems could it be... valve seals? (is there still oil loss with these? and i wlways thought that with a 50 psi difference there woyld be some serious symptoms?? is this right?
  10. hey guys my sr20det had a compression test done.... now apparently it dropped 50psi between cylindrs 1 & 2 im not sure of figures but assuming 150 to 100! now my engine is in perfect running order, doesnt loose one drop of oil in 5000ks, doesnt blow any other smoke out the exhaust, other then black fuel! she drives like a dream and pulls really good power for its mods! iv never had an idle problem, starting problem or anything meachanically really, i was assuming the compression would come up trumps as i knew it was an a1 engine!! now what the hell could be wrong with it, im sure its not piston rings at 50 psi loss!! is there anything else that would give me compression loss of that severity with no symptoms whats so ever!!!! any operator error taht could have caused this? i.s. mechanic was a nuffnuff??? help would REALLY be appreciated! and i will get a second opinion asap!! danny

  12. the v-spec actually has 2 more runners, and is a little more efficient! the standard has 22 runners whilst the vspec has 24!! looks like its in near perfect condition... free bump!
