  1. took me 6 months to sell my r33 a year ago now, it went from $30k down to $20k in the end. The best place i found was autotrader, cost a bit but got the most exposure and calls from them.

    New Addition

Nice car niz, I have been sorely missing a turbo car and have been thinking about what to get as my next ride. A mate bought one of these a yellow limited ed one and I went for a drive in it the other day (basic modes, exhauast, pod filter, better suspension) and I was amazed at the low down torque and overall acceleration... i might have to look at one of these
  3. hit the nail on the head. When i sold my car, which had between 15 and 20k in mods, i could only get $20k for it. Right now with the price of fuel, insurance etc i reckon its a buyers market and not a sellers market.
  4. That your new car hicks? Is it a BMW M3? Post up some pics when its done! love the bmw's
  5. Most yards will only offer you the price they would pay to import it, ie I was offered $12k for my r33 even though i had spent $20k on modifications alone because that was what he was buying 94 r33's from japan for. Best off sticking to the autotrader and just dropping the price and cutting your loses.

    Heyy

18 ey? Insurance must be a bitch, congrats on owning a R though
  7. you pay for what you get, but some workshops are rip-offs and may not know what they are doing. A lot of us have used many of the said workshops before with good results, my suggestion would be to drop in and visit some of the workshops and talk to the people involved and have a look around the workshop. If the workshop looks clean and the guys know what they are on about give them a go, just make sure you tell them exactly what you want and then listen to their advice about what the car/mods are capable of. Nothing worse than paying money (exspensive or not) and having the tune destroy an engine because the shop wasnt up to the task, having been down the path of new ecu, bigger turbo etc i would highly recommend x-speed or hyperdrive.
  8. Vulcan panel and paint in canning vale did most of the work on my car. They de-badged my boot and removed the keylock (someone at work thought they would have a go at removing it but couldnt and left it hanging out). Last time it went in for the new front bar they gave it a cut and polish and it looked cool as. Give Sam a call if you live down that way.
  9. I think you'll find changing to an ebc wont get much more HP, the turbo is pretty much at its max now it will probably make more heat than HP at 12psi. I think i managed about 250hp on 12psi (with an ebc and i was still dropping boost late in the rev range) and a stock ecu. If you find my latest dyno charts in the forced induction thread you'll notice how flat my boost curve is all the way to the redline with the ebc and external wastegate.
  10. I can recommend both hyperdrive and phils mechanical (he complied my r33 - 3 years ago).
  11. I have the trust r-spl and it works a treat, keeps the stock pipes in the engine bay so hooking up is easy as.
  12. my td06-20g is pushing 367hp at 1 bar and as it sits on the stock exhaust manifold with stock cams and a stock head we left it at that the td05 is probably more designed to fit a sr20det then the rb25det.
  13. Sam from vulcan panel and paint in canning vale ph. 94563311 just say that Rob with the black skyline put you onto him and he'll look after you. I recently had someone look at my 1994 r33 and asked if it had been re-sprayed to which it hasnt been but its a testiment to Sam's work and i always use meguires products (softwash, scratch-x and quickwax).
  14. I agree once i put the 18" enkei's on my car it looks much much better as for tyres I recommend the dunlop sp9000 (if you can still get these) but at 18" sizes dont expect much change from $500-$600/tyre.
  15. Didnt SST pull much more HP out of the stock injectors in tristans motor because it has a wolf ecu??? I dont drive my skyline much anymore, its for sale, but i dont go much above 12psi and believe there still plenty of fuel in it (on the hyperdrive dyno the afc's were all good even at 1bar) *shrug* If i had another $5k, i'd do some head work, exhaust manifold, set of cams to try and bring boost on earlier and some bigger squirters too. Personally I have to say the td06 has to be another worthy turbo for the rb25det, mine has the largest exhaust housing but i reckon with a slightly smaller one, a decent exhaust manifold it'd be up there for response and top end power too. Pauls GT30 was pretty nice too.
  16. I dont post much on these forums anymore, but i've used a few workshops to get the work done on my car. Most recently i have used hyperdrive and found their service, advice and workshop to be the best. Their workshop is clean and organised, their knowledge excellent and their manner friendly. Some workshops i have walked into i have almost broken my neck tripping over the engine half pulled apart, the gearbox lieing in the way or the bit of oil spilt that hasnt been mopped up yet.
  17. best tyres i have had were dunlop sp9000's i would have got them on the enkei 18" rims but they were very expensive.
  18. When my engine blew oil sprayed out of my catch can all over the engine, not sure which pistons went but i did 2 of them... 3 and 6 i think. I was running over 350rwhp at the time mind you and 1.2bar of boost
  19. The r33 oil pressure gauge is also very slow. My greedy unit reports idle at 2 and when I'm cruising its about 4, when the engine is cold its starts at 8 and slowly works it way to 4 after it warms up.
  20. take your car down the plex, you should exceed 180km/hr
  21. I'll play, already play indoor cricket but need some more exercise.
  22. I ran 12psi on my stock turbo with the trust intercooler for a year and had no problems, when i upgraded i pulled it off and sold it 2nd hand and as far as i know its still going strong on a r32.
  23. My engine lasted about 6 months with 367hp @ 1bar till i mucked around and wound the boost up to 1.2bar (killed it in about 3 weeks) on std internals.
  24. I've used him 3 times with no drama's. I work with a lot of suppliers and most of them have been closed for 2 weeks over the christmas break, takes a lot of time for stuff to happen over this period. When you ordered he should have given you some sort of timing though.
