  1. Sold! Well, actually went about 6 months ago now but a bit late getting the ad down! Sorry.
  2. Thanks RS4-S, i have currently just got it listed in the SAU whole cars section and on carsales.com. Really wouldn't have the time to strip it back to stock and sell off parts. I guess we'll just wait and see what happens with a private sale (dealers would probably just offer an insulting price if they didn decide to trade anyway!) Cheers
  3. Hi All, I've been trying to sell my Yellow Stagea RS-Four for the last six weeks and haven't had a single nibble. http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/NISSAN/STAGEA/details.aspx?R=10414341&keywords=bf-22-sv&__Ntk=CarAll&State=Victoria&__Nne=20&__Dx=mode%20matchany&__D=bf-22-sv&silo=1003&seot=1&__sid=12FC7783E8E4&state_id=82&__N=82%201216%20834%20285%20257&__Ns=pCar_PrivateSpecialFlag_Int32%7c1%7c%7cpCar_ImageCount_Int32%7c1%7c%7cpCar_LastModifiedDate_DateTime%7c1&__Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&distance=25&Cr=0&__Ntt=bf-22-sv&trecs=1 Is it overrpiced? I wouldn't have thought the colour is THAT bad? I paid $22K for it in mid-2008 when we imported from Japan and it has been a fantastic car - people still ask me if it is a 'new model'. Does anyone know of any used car or import dealers around Melbourne who trade-in Stagea's? Any other sale options I could investigate? T
  4. Privately purchased, imported and complied through J-Spec Imports in mid 2008, this unique, sporty and functional wagon is in absolutely fantastic condition and will suit a fastidious buyer. Some of the many features to list are; Factory fitted 'Dayz' body kit and strut bar Factory 17" alloy wheels HKS Hi-Power Silent turbo-back exhaust Cooling Pro 'Stealth' Intercooler Apexi turbo-timer Nistune ECU Pioneer MP3/CD Player Cargo barrier and rear sun shade With only one sensible Aussie owner (who hand-picked this car from a Japanese dealership, not an auction) since import, and with just 117,000 genuine kilometres on the clock, this truly awesome all-wheel-drive, turbo-charged sports wagon will be one of the best examples in the country. Serviced by Darren and George at Springy Motors in Springvale, this car has been meticulously looked after both cosmetically (duco still sparkles - always waxed) and mechanically, and is due for its next minor service at 130,000kms. Major service with belts, transmission oil etc was completed at 100,000kms. At last dyno, was achieving an easy 186kW at all fours. Never driven hard - family man driver. Although the car has NSW rego to the end of the month, I have recently moved to Melbourne and will be registering with full 12 months rego in Victoria as of next week. The only noteworthy issue for consideration as mentioned previously on this forum, is that a slight 'buzz' can be heard when changing from first to second gear when the engine is cold. I have taken the car to Skyline transmission specialists who assure me the 'box will be good for another 30-50,000kms before needing the input shaft bearing replaced. In light of this, I am happy to adjust price from the $15,500 as advertised on Carsales to $14,500 solid, including the 12 months Vic rego to get a fast sale. Regretful sale. Please contact Tom on 0401 624844 or at [email protected] for additional info or photos. Genuine enquiries only please. 5. Thanks for the info fellas. I ended up taking it down to 'Nizpro' in Bayswater. The mechanic (who owns/used to own a Stagea) took it for a spin and also identified the noise. He said they have had good results in the past using a particular high grade transmission oil (not sure of the exact specs - possibly thicker than normal oil?) that apparently minimise the issue. Gearbox should get another 10-20,000kms without a drama he believes. Will be interesting to see how it goes...
  6. Just been speaking with ABS in Ringwood - price is now $2,000+ as he wasn't aware it was an R34 Neo engine! That's pretty serious money for an annoyance. Think I'll leave it alone a while.
  7. Hey, I've recently taken my Stagea to a nearby clutch and brake centre in Ringwood to have the 'buzzing' in my transmission checked out. As I feared, the mechanic believes it's a worn input shaft bearing (and maybe a clutch plate issue). He has quoted anywhere north of $1200 to repair. Does this sound reasonable? Has anyone had similar issues and know where the cheapest place to have it repaired around Melbourne would be? I'm guessing the input shaft bearing part would be the same as the R34 GT-T?? Any help would be appreciated.
  8. I believe I'm having the same drama. When the car warms up, I have a particular bzzzzz sound when putting the clutch in to select (especially between 2nd and third). It has been doing it for the last 10,000kms, so it's obviously not too serious. Did you work out what was causing your noise?
  9. I am averaging 11.9L/100km on the highway, and around 14-16L/100km around town with the following set up; RS-Four S Manual 3" Turbo Back Exhaust Cooling Pro Stealth Intercooler Nistune Computer 12psi Boost (185kW @ All fours)
  10. Yes, made sure I secured the lock nut after each half-turn tighten. I didn't want to do it up too tightly, so used smaller increments. I think the belt is probably just a cheapy - I might try and source a new Nissan model if the spray doesn't work. Thanks for the info everyone.
  11. I have a 2000 model, manual 4WD Stagea with 105,000kms. I recently had the car serviced, including full belts, fluids and filter, water pump, transmission lube etc at 100,000kms. I have been noticing recently that when shifting to or from second gear that the gearbox emits a 'buzzing' sound (a bit like a blow-fly buzz type noise) and you can feel a vibration through the stick. I have been told that this is a worn input shaft bearing. My question is, should I have the problem looked at ASAP, or can it wait until the 110,000km service? Additionally, the main belt squeals whenever the cold engine is started. They were not original Nissan belts that were installed. I have tightened the belt several times, but it always seems to become loose after a week or so and squeal again. Any advice for how to rectify this? Thanks in advance for any advice.
  12. An update - Have recieved two quotes back for the major service - both around $1680. This includes; Replace engine oil and filter Replace timing belt Undercar inspection of suspension components, tyres, brakes, and chassis. Remove/refit drive shaft for dyno operation, 4wd vehicle. Dyno test/tune - check state of tune (fuel and ignition), power and general running. optimisation of boost pressure, ignition timing and fuel mixtures (where applicable) on dyno and before and after power printout. Replace water pump Remove radiator and flush cooling system, replace coolant Replace gearbox fluid Replace differential fluid Replace transfer case fluid Replace clutch fluid and bleed clutch system Replace brake fluid and bleed brake system Check condition of air cleaner and service/replace as required Check condition of auxially belts and adjust, tension and replace as required Check condition of radiator hoses and replace as required Check condition of vacuum hoses and replace as required Intake system leak/smoke test. Replace spark plugs Does this sound reasonable? Has anyone purchased the Kudos motorsports 100,000km service kit and installed themselves? I'm guessing replacing the timing belt etc would be a bit beyond the skill of an average bloke? Grrr, so much money. Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
  13. Thanks Wolverine, Sounds like I may have to bite the bullet and make the trip up to Sydney one weekend. The two western-most garages in Sydney that are listed on Nistune's website are; Unique Auto Sports 1/20 Tucks Road, Seven Hills, NSW Contact Tim on (02) 9620 9000 info [at] uniqueautosports.com http://www.uniqueautosports.com Unigroup Engineering 17/ 17a Amax Avenue, Girraween (02) 9631 2470 Contact Yavuz on (02) 9631 2470 enquiries [at] unigroup.com.au http://www.unigroup.com.au I wonder if either of these Nistune workshops would be open Saturday morning (the only time I could really book the car in). Has anyone had any dealings with either of these garages and can recommend? Best of luck with the pending real estate purchase Wolverine!
  14. I drive a 2000 model Nissan Stagea RS-Four S. I had a 'Nistune' board installed at Springy Motors in Victoria just before we moved to Orange in central west NSW. As far as I can tell according to their website, the nearest Nistune garage I could take my car is in western Sydney. Does anyone know of any garages within 200kays of Orange (ie Bathurst, Lithgow, Dubbo etc) that I could take my car to get the Nistune tuned/programmed? Additionally....has anyone found that their fuel consumption is any better with the Nistune chip? I thought the economy might improve with the new ECU, but still only seem to be managing around 420-450 kms to a tank of fuel. (I would like to get the chip re-programmed for maximum economy rather than maximum power next time ) Cheers, Tom
