  1. Any update on this mate?
  2. there is no ground wire connected to ground, theres a positive 12v, but no ground, then if u switch to high beam, another wire is activated and if u connect that to the other positive on the bulb, u get a light, 2 positives and no ground, you get a light, but the other headlight, theres always 2 active 12v lines with the low beams, then once you switch to high beams, one drops off and you have just the 1 positive, but you dont get low and high beam active when its set to low beam even though theres 2 12v lines active, its like when theres a defect with the system, it drops a low beam off one, and a high beam off the other so u have 2 working lights. is there a control module for the s1 headlights, or just the stalk and a few relays? does anyone know if the s2 headlight stalk is the same as the s1 stalk?
  3. there is power at the lights, but its all over the place, theres power when there shouldnt be, but no illumination, and there isnt power when there should be, is it a switched ground trigger? i can get the bulb to illuminate at the weirdest times, then at other times, not at all...
  4. Hey all, Am currently driving my mates s1 c34, which is having some headlight dramas, left lo-beam works, and only the right hi-beam works, so collectively i can drive around with a lo and hi beam, but obviously, thats not ideal. He has checked the fuses, relays and globes, all good, i got him to do some probing with a multimeter, but ill start from scratch again once i grab a multimeter off him. (not that i dont trust him, but he hates electrics!) Has anyone heard of a similar issue? Does anyone have wiring diagram for the headlights? (ive searched and cant find much) any suggestions would be great cheers soti
  5. Had a look at the car today, its running iridium's at 1.1mm, so will b chucking sum coppers in there tomorrow and will gap them to .8 My mate is most unhappy to hear bout the ecu not liking boost. Splitfires seem to have a good reputation amongst rb ppls, so have recommended that to him too... Money money money, I spent 4k on my car just recently, so I cant really comment...
  6. how do u manage that with the handbrake lever being there? i ended up taking the latch off the coin compartment and mounting it on the door of the compartment, drilling holes for the wiring loom. somebody at sum point has used a silicon based cleaner on the trims tho, coz double sided tape doesnt stick, so will use some iso n clean the trims so the door stays shut on the compartment. now the issue is the infamous stutter round 4-4.5k ony got to a peak of 8.9psi stutters like f*k, but clears out by 5ish like all other rb's do! turned the boost controller off and its still running 6.9psi and still stuttering...my 2jz doesnt have these issues....
  7. c34 has the coin compartment on the lower rhs, theres a fuse box directly behind it, so my only concern is clearance, can i do it without kinking any of the lines, visibility is low there, but thats essentially where ive mounted my ebc in my aristo... cant mount it as per celica due to the coin compartment handle being there... thanks for the suggestions so far, keep it coming guys!
  8. Heya gents n gals, Just after some advice regarding mounting of an ebc in my mates c34, am throwing a blitz dual SBC in and am looking at places to mount the controller in the car, a vac line has to go to the unit for boost reference, so got a keep that in mind. I just can't find anywhere that's discreet and still visible. Don't want it on the steering column, way too obvious, same on the dash, not very sleeper, down by the knees is a bit hard to view, and not much space since the brake release and coin tray are there. Was thinking of dremeling out the ashtray and mounting it inside there, but it ts not very visible, was thinking inside the glovebox, like Velcro to the roof of it, but then u gota drive round with the glovebox open to see boost..... So, I'd like suggestions and pics...got bout 12hours or so until i get to it... Hoping weather holds out and we make it to the motorplex with the new round of mods.... Done a bit of searching through the forums and couldn't find anything stag specific to this. Cheers
  9. i didnt, i still have it, its just gone up for sale, but its here! yep, uzz31, 1uzfe love!
  10. law states as long as you are part of the conversation, you ARE ALLOWED to record the convo! my soarer passed the pits when it got regoed, i had 8.5" rears (jzs147 aristo rears) 7" being the limit on the soarers, and a computer for adjusting the stock air suspension, told them the air suspension was factory, didnt care bout the controller, didnt look at the wheels, bam plates on it driving home!! wat if its done safely, even if its illegal, 9/10 times theyll let it fly!!
  11. and my missus says i am crazy for sleeping with a US army knife under my pillow, my car keys stay in my top draw, inches from my head...i also have a baseball bat about 1.5m from my head... we've had crooks jump our side fence (we live on a corner block) we got up, bro grabbed his baseball bat, i grabbed mine, we went from different sides and chased the guy for a solid 300m before we stopped! also had people try to pick our old door lock, guy was fumbling with about 100 different keys, called the cops, rocked up within 3mins....too bad they had just taken off...theres some real scum out there!! latest incident, somebody jumped our side fence, and removed the flood lights lights, left the globes on the ground and stole my lil sis's bike...fence is 6 6" ft tall too...scum mate!
  12. jza70 with big single and external gate a few months after i got my Ps...then a jzs147 aristo (2jzgte)
  13. i used to drive a matte black ma61...i miss her sooo much sometimes... i tend to wave a you line drivers, but never get a response, most probably coz nobody recognizes the JDM 2jz awesomenessness styles of my Aristo! tend to give thumbs up to fellow old skool cars, as well as silvias n alike!
  14. unless it looks really modified, they wont look for things like a carbon canister...as long as its all neat n tidy, it should be ok....post a pic of your engine bay... in cars like the aristo, the carbon canister is inside the FL corner, above the wheel arch plastics, but out of the engine bay, u cant see it from the bay..
  15. you shouldnt of told him it was a BOV, or agreed that its a bov, its a ABV, air bypass valve, or recirculation valve...he cant sticker you for that!! he has to be able to prove, to a reasonable doubt, to himself and his partner, that it is illegally modified and not doing its job, as the manufacturer intended! if he did proceed to yellow sticker you after that, i would of taken a video of your engine bay, the 'bov' in question, then to the window where the sticker is/was....then called up the head office and gone spac....9/10 times they'll remove the sticker at their own cost! in terms of the OP's issue, he WILL check the engine number, then depending on what kinda mood his in, how you have presented yourself and the car he may just change the engine number, or he may make you pay to change the engine number(cheap as from memory) or he may question the fact its turbo, to which i'd say, the original motor blew a headgasket, and then the water destroyed the bearings after it mixed with the oil, so i found a replacement motor and slotted it in...it was the only motor i could find without modifying the car to get it in! rb30 is larger capacity (duh) and the rb25 is smaller (again duh) but turbocharged, he may just overlook it, since it sorta makes up for it!
  16. haha, i love these threads, compete idiocy! drag racing is more than just power and grip, whos the better driver, who can get the best launch, whos r/t is gona be better, all these will factor in....take it to the strip, that way you can do it over and over and over again, no corners on the strip! as Pal said, loser pays for the others nite!!
  17. was in Freo Friday night, there was an Astra in front of me getting jumped by a 34 GTT, anyone from here?? when i got back to the car (missus Yaris) the 34 was behind me.....a Landie was doing the jumping then!
  18. 6:30m is a bit late if ya gna race, i got there @ 6pm a fortnight ago and i was the 170th car threw the gates!
  19. sucks nuts man, i had a similar experience in my ma61 back in 08, was getting tailgated on stock road (a 1 lane section) the guy was so close i couldnt see his headlights....was doing 60 in a 60 zone.....this was about 1am.....no other cars on the road, guy sticks to my ass.....breaks off into 2 lanes about a kay down the road, he pulls up next to me (to my right) the passenger leans out the window, chucks a beer bottle at the car, hits the hood, bounces onto the windshield then over the roof(covering my car in beer)....turned off at the next set of lights, he was right next to me yelling and shit, just baked it up.....was sooo fooking pissed....after that i carried a baseball bat in the car....then when i lost my license for excessive noise the cops said it could be classified as a weapon, so now.....nothing....just a wheel brace for checking lug nut tension.... Report your incident to a few different cop shops, am sure 1 will do something about it!!! then if they dont, just go nuts @ the coppers about being assaulted and they aint doin shit about it! keep reporting/complaining, dont let them push you around!! if you happen to spot the car in a carpark.....key it, ALL OVER IT....or get a spray can and f**k it up! cops cant prove it was you...no witnesses!!
  20. reo bar in the bumper is good for about 6kg, but it becomes illegal once you remove it as you have compromised the front end....6kg doesnt sound like heaps.....but its at the very very very front, makes a slight different, ac can go, so then can the condensor, boot trims, spare, jack etc. rear body trims, then it starts getting difficult...wat luxuries can you live without......how much time you going to spend driving....its all bout compromise at this point....lighter seats..removing non-essential bolts is good at removing a few kg, but then you drive down the road thinking....is my gearbox going to drop out coz i took out that many bolts....so i dont recommend it....lighter rims, lighter lug nuts (can be good for a kg in total), carbon fiber boot and bonnet,....thats about the MAX you'd go for a street car.... the entire ac system was good for 24kg in my 84 ma61 Supra (so compressor, brackets, condensor, drier, front end lines)
  21. looks like the motor stopped the car....doesnt start does it?? does it even crank....dont recommend trying it...but i assume you already tried...really need open bonnet pics to see how bad the damage is....i guess no insurance? would the inexperienced driver be your partner? would be repairable...probably about 7k worth of damage to the body....dunno bout the motor until you can that bonnet up, the rails could be kinked/bent aswell...sucks either way....everyone alright??
  22. i reckon something like a Nistune/Mines/Blitz tuned computer coupled with a SAFC is bomb, that way you have the more agro timing maps, and can still pull/put fuel where you need it!!!
  23. if its small they may just get you to get it repaired, or theyll just let it fly, but my soarer front windshield had a 24inch crack in it, that shit would never pass!
  24. wat, as if in, Cypher Industries, Xspeed, Intune, Hyperdrive?? how....wat...explain???? bout to take my soarer over to get regoed, this info will be helpful!!
