I agree about it being depressing roy, spent about 6k with all mods and tuning for the car and making [email protected] what fun those 207kw are!! if anyone can get your hands on a HKS cast manifold.......i'll try it. And i'm hunting around for some 256 or 260 cams for mine to see if it make any difference to the 2530.

  6. been in the same situation and i opted for the injectors (gtr) and reg just to make sure. i purchased a set of r32 injectors which leaked from the body of the injector. So be careful.

  10. i got what seems an earlier vision HKS GT2530 on my rb20 where is has the garrett stamped on the compressor and HKS stamped on the rear housing. But then theres a tag on the core housing which specifies the model of it.
  11. u need something like roys setup to get that. 166rwkw and 12.8 is abit far fetched. if he said 13.5, i'd say its possible.
  12. the little rb20 got a 13.17 @108mph with 207rwkw.

  14. i had an awesome day.....managed to get 13.1but seemed to have more it but seemed to choke up at top end got a shit load of runs in and i left at 12:30pm. good work guys.
  15. did mine the other night.....change clutch, rear main seal, thrust bearing, rear gear box seal (where gearbox meets tailshaft) and machine flywheel. While its out give it a good degrease and gerni! i'm still sore from trying it myself.
  16. my scaling goes 1. 90% 2. 90% 3. 90% 4. 90% 5. 91% 6. 92% I've tried playing with lag settings but to no success, still using 0.00ms lag adjustments. So i might try your theory tommorow night after i install my gearbox and clutch.

  19. yo roy i'll be down at the SAU NSW drag day 31st July to see what time the r32 gtst can with a 2530 and support gear. Not making as much power as you Roy but hoping for a flat 13.....maybe abit optimistic. Will good to compare numbers with your setup. Cheers
  20. power of the car feels good. making ~207 rwkw on ~1.2 bar. I've never had much wheel spin problems, except first.....when i pull 6 degrees out.....i got no wheel spin anywhere. Its using an ap engineering power fc and blitz boost controller. The tune is fairly rich to be able to run 1.35 bar as safe as possible so i'm inclined to guess engine noise too because at .8 bar it cant be not getting enough fuel.
  21. Hey Guys, I have an issue with my rb20det which has me annoyed. The problem is. The car is tuned to run a max of 1.35bar on request. I have 5 different boost settings From 0.8 bar to 1.35. No matter what boost setting i have i wont get knock over ~35 on the hand controller for Wide Open Throttle. At this level i'm using LOAD point 15-16 on the maps. But lets say i hesitate at about 4300rpm and ease off the throttle to about 2/3 or even 1/3 throttle, so i'm still accellerating and on boost. Knock will jump to rediculous number like 75, 93, 98 ....and so one...... I've done a map trace on the hand controller and found it happens around LOAD point 11 to 14 and between revs 4400 and 6000 (points N11 -N16). So what i did was put it on the dyno to try find if it knocks at all. NO PROBLEM, ADDED more timing, got up ~60, added more and got my puff of smoke from the exhaust. So i have still abit up my sleeve. Then on the freeway in 3rd was able to replicate the problem. So i pull out 3 degrees out of the entire map. Still get the same problem. I pull out another 3 and still getting the same thing. So i've pulled out 6 degree and i'm getting the same thing. At wide open throttle i was only getting a reading of 19 at WOT with 6 degrees less timing. Anyone who can help me out.?? Offer any ideas????? Over sensitive knock sensors???   23. I've only recently started dealing with him, and have had a few issues some injectors that he installed and supplied. (note. problems due to the injectors not workmanship). He's been understanding and patient with me and hasnt given me any impression that he would do a dodgy job. He is the type of bloke who will make an effort to keep his customers happy. I'm sure if it was another mechanic he would of told me to go stick up my arse. I will keep using him for things which are beyond me.
