As I said, I understand why they do it. But why can't they comply a PM for someone that buys a car in Japan themselves. I would imagine they would/could charge $3500-4000 for compliance. This gets the 30k back pretty quick. That's a nice premium over the $2500 usually charged for compliance on an nm35. This would still allow you to bring one over cheaper than what you could buy in a yard. The big part of them not doing it would be missing out on the easy 4k profit on the car, plus profit on the cost of compliance they would make by selling you one from their yard.
This is the point I'm making!!!
