  1. With threads like this, no wonder the police are on our backs for having imports. Id suggest you keep your illegal racing crap on fast fours or the like where the rest of the teenage hoons chat.
  2. no fair enough. not looking for dodge, just fairness. the only things people in the know might querie is the pod filter, and bov. But im so sick of ppfftt that im taking that back to stock anyhow, but maybe not b4 inspection. but other than that, my car is legal as safety goes, its not worth the hassle these days to be pulled up for crap, you can quite reasonably make a performance car perform the legal way just as well [kinda] Ill drop by anyhow and have a talk.
  3. Thanks Nik Ill check him out. Im always caught in Canberra come rego time. I had a check done at a qbn service place in my gti-r and they opened the bonnet and insisted my turbo setup was aftermarket and they didnt want to touch it. After a bit of sweet talking, and showing them as much info on the GTIR as i had on my at the time, they very relucantly checked it and pink slipped me, with a 'now dont ever come back here again ya here'
  4. hey andrew, Thanks for the info. What I meant was, Im not planning to transfer my nsw plates over to act ones. I live in nsw, and want to stick with my nsw rego I know I can go to any rego place in qbn and get them to check out my car, but it would seem down in qbn a few places do not like the looks of a mod'd car, much less an import that they know nothing about. Thanks for the post though.
  5. Are you nth or sth? On some of the other canberra based forums it would seem that sthside is known for cars on the sides of roads getting trashed by drunken hoons walking around after parties. Though it is coming into winter so that might die down a bit. If you live in a house Id suggest parking the car on the lawn. Even better if your bedroom faces the front yard. Then you can hear if anything was going on. Maybe even buy a car cover for it.
  6. Hey guys, I dart from Sydney to Canberra often. My plates are NSW. My rego is due, and Im not heading back to syd JUST to get a rego check.. My question is, does anyone know any places in qbn or even canberra that are fairly reasonable with mod's cars? Email me at [email protected] if dont want to publicly advertise such places. Thanks heaps.
  7. Coming home from the city, I was going down the Parkway, I hit the straight stretch from just past the zoo to the Curtin turn-off, and just past that turnoff in the bush was the gold/purple ford cop car. He has perfect veiw of over a kilometre of straight road. That twice now he has been there at bout 11pm onward on a weeknight. Luckily I was in my daily driver, [suzuki sierra] and was just cruising on the limit, becuase you dont notice him until your smack infront of him, even with your highbeams on, with the angle of the incline its difficult.
  8. eerm jay? maybe you should go back and read my post, and no im not joking. please refer to "Im not saying he isn't in the wrong by getting out and abusing your sister [no matter what happened, he doesnt have the right to do that]" Then maybe you can comment. I didnt know in Australia that from one persons story we automatically presume the other person is totally in the wrong. There are two sides to every story. Im not commenting on the after-math of the situation, that, as i said is wrong. But the events prior to it need to fulling disclosed before we lock Falcon man up. If you dont understand that, i really am wasting my time with your level of intelligence.
  9. "for no apparent reason " exactly. none of us were there. I know it was your sister, but from ONE persons side of the story everyone is making it out like he is the villian. Maybe he is, maybe he isnt. But really, unless any of us was there, or the guy driving the Falcon turned up on the posts to defend himself, none of us can sit here and say he is totally in the wrong. Reading your first post, looking at it through the eyes of a reasonable driver, I'd suggest that there isn't all the story being told. Im not saying he isn't in the wrong by getting out and abusing your sister [no matter what happened, he doesnt have the right to do that], but come on, she was 'just' minding her own business and all THAT happened. I doubt it very much. Either your is in her own dream world when she drives and didnt see what she did wrong for him to go off at her, or she isnt willing to disclose the full happenings of the incident.
  10. I drive a GTIR, and I similar harassment from SSS drivers trying to get me to run them. But one thing: I dont care if your 'overtaking' people in the right lane, if you holding someone up, you dont have the right to be there. All it takes is two seconds of your time to get back into the left lane and let the R31 be on his way.
