  1. Was looking for the VSS on the driver's side and came across this install in Japan. http://abbey370.sakura.ne.jp/car_custom_audio1.html http://abbey370.sakura.ne.jp/car_custom_audio2.html http://abbey370.sakura.ne.jp/car_custom_audio3.html So it looks like it is practically possible to install a double din unit into one of these. Doesn't appear to be for the faint hearted but it is possible. Maybe there is little more than disconnecting the PCBs and extending the ribbon cables - or would that be too simple?
  2. I laid out the figures and got this 250gt 300gt 350gt Capacity 2.5 3 3.5 increase per variant 20% 17% Power (KW) 158 191 200 increase per variant 21% 5% Torque (NM) 269 323 353 increase per variant 20% 9% Fuel Consumption l/100 8.3 8.6 11.1 increase per variant 4% 29% Transmission 4 5 CVT/5 Wheel diameter 16 17 18 You can see that the increase in power and torque from the 250 to 300 is exactly proportional to the increase in capacity yet the fuel consumption is only 4% higher - keep in mind that in pure city driving the 250 should be more than 4% more efficient Now look at the gap from the 300 to 350 17% greater capacity only 5% and 9% power and torque increase respectively. The real problem is the 29% increase in fuel consumption over the 300. The reason for the 350s comparatively poor numbers is due to a more simple injection system. The 250 and 300 are direct injection while the 350 is regular multi-port. So if you need efficiency and so are considering a 250 give the 300 a hard look - after all 4 speed autos are very 1980. I own a 300 so may be incredibly biased

  5. Hey guys Thanks for the reply chris So it seems i have connected the components in the right order - it is hard to get it wrong the problem must be faulty expander. This is an item you sell Chris ever had a faulty expander? I might test it in my other car - for example if itune the radio to 85.3 it should be 105.3? Cheers
  6. This is going to be a real forehead slapper when it is solved Am installing a FM expander to a 01 V35 300GT with bose stereo. For some reason can't get it to work. Expander is an Aerpro (AP745) and have both diversity antenna adaptors AP348A and AP348B ok so i have connected the factory antenna to AP348A - the male fitting of AP348A to the female of the fm expander - the male of the fm expander to the female of AP348B - connected AP348B to the stereo. Alas no FM signal - Am works wonderfully though. What have i done wrong Oh and the fm expander is wired to the cigarette lighter if anyone is wondering. Will post pics if anyone wants them.
