  1. If your getting black crap out the exhaust and you say it could be coming from the engine, I wonder what your cat is doing = coughing up fur balls??? Could be wheezing??
  2. Yeah, thanks, others have ground their engine mounts back as well. I originally got the angle of my cut wrong and cut parallel to the motor. The cut really [now I know] has to go more like 60 degrees to the motor. Its a problem when using the HKS and a bigger turbo.
  3. I just want to know if the nismo mounts [or any mounts for that matter] are smaller diameter than the std nissan mounts. I'm particularly interested in the right hand or exhaust side front mount. I had to cut into mine to fit my GT3076 WG turbo on a HKS cast low mount manifold. I reckon I cut too much off and plan to replace the engine mount, but thought if I was going to do it that I should get something that is bigger/better/brighter - well not so big in this case.
  4. Do a compression test, might tell you where the leak is [unless its only leaking at the oil gallery]
  5. Sorry ish, but your off the mark. These kits are a cheap way to stop detonation [pinging] when your running high boost and a big turbo with a standard motor [you already have a pfc]. Normally you would rebuild and use forgies and a metal spacer head gasket to lower compression then run more boost safely. But with a standard motor you can lower combustion temperature with WMI. You wouldn't use this system with a bog stock standard car, you would use a programmable ECU [pfc, wolf etc]. For an RB25 you are looking at 270rwkw or more [Mafia's rb25 has 300]. People like me are looking at this system as a way around a full rebuild.
  6. What about an old Datsun 240K two door hardtop, don't see to many around now, and could be a classy thing - drop a RB25/6 in it later? Bikes - If your on your L's then earn your stripes, stick to the 250's, get experience, then move up when your ready. And stay true to yourself, do it when your ready, not when you think "it'll be OK". Trust me on this, nothing kicks as hard as seeing a mate lying in the middle of the road!!!
  7. Congrats, If you get the right one they come with an $82 billion bank account [as per AN Smiths bub]....lol
  8. How can you torque an exhaust manifold?? You can only get to say 5 or 6 out of 12 nuts. The rest are hidden and only accessible using a spanner, and only the open end not a ring spanner. And a HKS cast low mount is even worse, 3 nuts only. So if there is a tool out there bsides my elbow click I'd like to know about it!
  9. Is Queanbeyan Canberra?
  10. Why, did you get gutter rash too? Try an antifungal cream......

  14. If its off a skyline, ask for a dyno printout....................bet they don't have one [i bet they do]!!! Why, cos they would be embarassed to show it. There is never any bargains, only problems.
  15. Ok, put me down for a 3" one [but see my PM] for my '98 R33 gtst with flanges, the works.
  16. Engineers reports are cheap in the long run, usually $500-800 and then you can assist Mr Plod with a piece of paper that politely says f@#k off.
  17. It probably isn't on its own!!!!
  18. I was warned off coating my manifold by a quite well known tuning shop in Sydney. they reckoned it was a waste of $$$$ and it always flaked off.
  19. ^^^^ This is correct, I don't know of a car manufacturer that doesn't recommend this method now. They all say the best warm up is normal driving.
  20. Just a small thing, sometimes helps if you mask or photoshop your rego plate if your posting pics, do what I did, get in and make it something really cool. Its a security thing!
  21. They'd look trippy at night when you have the disc's glowing a nice red.
  22. Aerosol degreaser is usually only kerosene anyway, and kerosene [paraffin to the USA] is the cleaner of choice for a lot of mechanical parts, plus it washes up in water. Have a look on the can and see what it is made of.
