  1. With engineers certs even if you get your car 100% engineered for every mod Im pretty sure a cop can defect you or send you an epa letter if they think your to loud, low or if they wanna fine you for the sake of it (but that never happens ) You have to remember this is Vic, the only state where your guilty until you prove your innocence.
  2. Just paint the brembo's black and have no Brembo sticker on it, as if a cop will know the difference. As long as you keep mods looking stock ie highflow, nistune etc you can get away with alot without getting defected or getting into trouble, no need for a track only car unless your serious to the point of doing wtac and big events, you can still have a quick somewhat legal street car that'll be a good all rounder.
  3. I think any seat is 'illegal' unless its adr approved and on Adr approved rails, even then they'll prob defect you and make you prove its legal. With a 4 door I think you can get away with fixed seats though, don't see why it would be any issue, its not impacting on any rear passengers in anyway.
  4. I wonder if aus spec super streets are 'legal'? There pretty soft. Why pull the coilovers out? Thats prob the easiest thing to swap 'if' you get defected for it.
  5. If you wanna sell the intercooler seperatly Im keen. As mentioned above for 4.5k you'd make more parting out the car.
  6. Tyres sizes on the 8.5 and the 9.5 +15? Im keen for a set, might have to be after xmas though
  7. There were guys on bodybuilding.com or whatever and they didn't fap for a month or so to see how it affected there gains, dont think it went to well. I think it actually decreases your test if you dont 'go' for to long. Lifes to short to not fap for the sake of marginally higher test levels, cant tell me you'll actually notice a difference between a fapping bodybuilder and a non fapper.
  8. Where are they made? Sounds like a poor quality bonnet tbo, the fibreglass shouldn't really go 'soft'.
  9. It all depends on your goal for the car, if you wanna tear up the track or get more then 170awkw then avoid a normal wrx, go an evo or atleast an sti, you can get bugeye sti's for alot less the 20k now, same with evo's. If its just a daily then really any wrx will do, engines/boxes are basically the same with only minor changes from 99 on, only major change was going to a 2.5 in the 06 on.
  10. Whats your budget?
  11. What are the wheel sizes/offsets? Looks tough as
  12. I've owned 3 subies over th years, a modded 03 sti, a heavily modded rs liberty and a stock b4 liberty, and I wouldn't buy another subie unless it was just to be a stockish fun daily. They have to many weak links, the gc8's have weak boxes, small driveshafts and small rear diff, the sti versions are still only 5 speed with altered ratios and the same r160 diff, the bugeye on versions are to heavy for 2.0 so I wouldn't bother, only the 05+ wrx's are worth buying due to the 2.5. For the price of a decent sti you can get a very nice GTR, even then if your going to buy an sti your better of getting the 05+ which has dccd, but there still around the 25k mark. The thing I found with subies is there very easy to get semi fast and decent handling for cheap on the street but once you start tracking or thrashing alot they just break, put on some sticky tyres and you'll start breaking boxes and shafts alot, and the cost of upgrading to a 6 speed in a gc8 or similar is just not worth it, to do it correctly you'll be looking at 4k+, then you have to factor in upgrading the rear diff etc. There great cars but they really arn't built as well as skylines in terms of strength and outright potential, they'll be quicker 0-100 then a skyline in most cases but thats about it, plus understeer gets boring real quick, just stick with your skyline
  13. Thats why alot of guys wont buy new te37's, why spend so much when you can get a knock off for an 8th of the price. I'm not for or against cheap/expensive wheels but I think regardless of what guys on here say or what they buy there will always be companies copying big brands, end of the day you buy what you can afford, and with me that would be 2nd hand te37's
  14. Depends on your definition of cheap wheels, would you call rpf1's cheap crap? Or Varrstoens? You can't really compare forged wheels to cast and expensive to cheap, they both have a market. With Rota copying big brands why does it matter, big budget track cars or guys with plenty of cash will still buy the expensive stuff, its not like know one is buying them know because they can get rota's or whatever, rota have really just taken the market away from buying second hand jap wheels, not new.
  15. While I agree with what you say, end of the day rota's or cheap 'new' wheels will always have a market regardless if they copy a design or have there own, alot of people don't want to pay over 2k for a set of wheels that only sees street, I dont see the problem with this at all and I dont know why anyone would, guys who have the money and who want the best will still buy 4k advans, there will always be a market for good wheels. As I mentioned earlier I've have cheap wheels before, and never had an issue. Even the enkei rpf1 (which I'll prob end up buying) are only a cast wheel and I know for a fact that they can shatter like rota's, richos 33 when he stacked at sandown looked like a rota fail pic, the whole outer edge of the rim peeled of. I think you need to relax with this anti cheap wheel stuff, not having a go but its like your brainwashed into thinking that only jdm stuff is good and everything else is evil, its not that black and white unfortunently.
  16. Its prob just rusted on, get a rubber mallet and bash the crap out of it.
  17. Just go a 3 inch system with a pipe welded into the cat, knowone will know I cant see a decat and stock system been that great, stock is like 2.25 inches or something? Must be very restrcitive.
  18. Avoid D2 like the plague. Either of the BC's are good but just go the BR, bigger shocks and there the 'better' model, only like $100 in it anyways.
  19. I dont think people look at it that way, its not about not caring about your car or taking buisiness away from the top brands but more having wheels that dont cost an arm and a leg. I personally have had expensive wheels and cheap 'knock off's' , doesn't mean I dont care about my safety or pride in my car. IMO unless your car get's driven rarely ie weekends only, you'd be crazy to have a set of 4k wheels on it, your only going to get annoyed at little scratches and marks on them. As mentioned in the main article Rota are prob making the wheels for a whole bunch of vehicle brands, not just under the rota name. Even Enkei rpf1's are only cast. I personally have never seen anyone have issues with rota's or cheaper wheels, the ones you see exploded from hitting a gutter prob had stretched tyres and no sidewall give, wheels dont just crumble in normal driving, potholes and all. But you are right about the enkei's, they are the same price as rota's, even xd9's arn't to expensive, when I eventually get another skyline I wont be fussed if I have either rota's or works on it, both will be fine.
  20. I spoke to him as I was keen on it, I asked him twice if he had an engineers for the fmic and he said its not needed because it used standard mounts or something. It doesnt make sense as they obviously don't come with a fmic standard. He told me he got defected and had to get it cleared so got his mechanic to sign a stat dec saying it used the stock mounts or something (didn't make much sense), but thats not an engineers cert so you can still get done for a hole cut for the cooler. In all honesty I wouldn't bother with it, he seems to keen to sell it.
  21. Wow this is so nice Puts alot of gtr's to shame. With the underbody restoration what exactly was fixed/repaired?
  22. You need to wind up the boost, my old hr31 made about 150rwkw on 14psi with a vg30 and exhaust but stock everything else. My 32 made 230+ but was running about 20psi. I think the limit of stock injectors/afm is about 180rwkw on a rb20, so I would upgrade them first and get a re-tune, I think you will have to run atleast 18psi or so to get 200rwkw.
  23. Spoke to the guy before, he got defected and had to get his mechanic to sign a stat dec declaring that the intercooler was using factory mounts or something, obviously it has a hole cut for the cooler piping so his mechanic doesn't know what he is doing Just thought I'd let people know in case they thought he had the cooler engineered.
  24. Looks like this is for sale again http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/nissan-skyline-1992-13763089?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=0&eapi=2&__N=1246+1252+1247+1282+4294963846+4294963593+903+1216&num=15&silo=Stock&sort=LastUpdate
