  1. Check your oil levels.
  2. Check your oil levels.
  3. WHAT!!!!! you got a turbo timer ripped out of the car???? Are you or they shot in the head, a turbo timer will extend the life on your turbo by allowing it to cool down, after driving or hard driving. Basicly by you ripping it out you now have to wait at your car till the turbo cools down, this can be a long time by the way, the harder you drive your car the hotter the turbo gets thus the longer it takes to wind down and cool down. If you stopped the car dead straight away after hard driving your turbo can't cool down and the metal can get worpped or crack etc. Basicly your've cost your self either big money or a few hundred dollors in buying a new one and getting it installed again. Very bad bad move there I'm affriad.
  4. is the car still up for sale?
  5. That car is a R32 the side style isn't the same as the R34. Also the bonnet isn't the r34 bonnet. That might be your ticket. it's an auto though.
  6. If you want a manual lic then do manual from the start don't bother with auto as you'll only be stuffing yourself around longer and and wasting more money. I would think it, might be better to look at another car/model seeing as the R33 would be 9-10 years old, also the new model of skyline or maybe 2 new models of skyline would be out by then. I just think buying such old cars might not be worth the trouble down the track, remember things on cars wear down and break and a 10 year old car will either be good or very bad. You really don't want to be buying a $20,000 car and then finding out you have to shell an extra $5,000 to fix up the gearbox because it's on the way out or the engine or anything else. The skyline or any other car for that matter can be a very good build but they all fall apart the same. You could also see about buying a skyline sooner at a cheaper price then shelling out the cash on what you want then. The person talking about the gemi isn't a bad idea it could be any car, not just to thrash around but also to get used to driving around in just in general, What I mean is that you don't want to be drive a $15,000 to $30,000 car and hoping no one smashes into you or you smashing into them or when parking scraping along something etc.
  7. Humm hard to say really again it comes down to the type of car you like and really do want. I think the R34 has the best style out of all the skylines. From what I've heard the R34 cars don't really have any mechical problems as they are still pretty new. The R33 can is also pretty good as well, though there are some things to look out for like the gear box etc, but these are things that would be normally going down hill after 100,000 or so has been put onto the gear box anyway so these are reall more wear and tear than mechical problems, but they could cost quite a bit down the track which is what you want to look out for. My thinking is that the R33 is probably going to hang around the same price, but the R34 might be slightly dearer than it is now. a $30,000 R34 won't have a turbo and could be a 2 or 4 door, I've seen a non turbo 2door R34 going for $30,000, looks alright and says it has 20,000klm to 40,000klms on the clock. If your've only got $25,000 to play with I wouldn't bother thinking about a R34 as the starting price for the car alone is already above that, and the R34 model has the least amount of cars made for it out of all the skylines, that's why I think it will probabbly go up rather than go down. Some experts are saying it will go down but not by much as more R34's come over or more come up for sale. So the non-turbo R34 may come down to $25,000 but that would be for the car and none of the extra's.
  8. the car park at macca's isn't chainned off went there 7th april and was all ok.
  9. Also it could be just the engine's sound of requiring a change before it blows up...
  10. not all speed limiters limit you to 180klms, in a WRX it's 205 for an auto 210klms for a manual. So it wouldn't suprise me if you could get up to 220-230klms before it limits the speed, you'll crap your self when it happens the first time. As it feels like your've just totally f**ked your engine, real bad. That's also saying you still have the speed limiter or it's turned on.
  11. This is a pyramid scheme, for sure. They'd be getting around the law by having to start up a business name normally done by using your full name and that doesn't have any costs. So instead of dealing with neways you are now dealing with [insert name here] business and here's what I'm selling. An interesting thing is though is that up in Brisbane there 4-5 people that are selling products of the same type but are under a different name eco something and say the exact same things. Their product names are different and the usage is different though. Same deal with their products can't be sold in shops etc, because it's a pyramid scheme though some people do sell a box or a couple of boxes to a petrol station or 2 shops only in the area. The other major reason why they don't sell to the shops is that they wouldn't make any money, due to the costs of transfer, sales making it. etc.
  12. How do you know as the ad doesn't show any plates, the skyline bit would only last for 1 1/2 seconds max.
  13. I guess another thing would be to check out all the wires around the engine bay one might not be right.
  14. I'm in the same boat as yourself though I havn't made any calls to people to find out about things. I how ever do want a R34 GT-t via a dealer or import or a R34 GT-R via import, which I'm not quite sure about as I have some other things on my mind, even though I have found a dealer that I would buy from. My understanding and thinking is that you gamble your money either way you go, a dealer can't give you a complete non-problem free car off the bat, and nor can a import place either, so it seems as what price you really want to pay for the car and what you do want or really what you can afford to get. Even though I hadn't asked around the place I had guessed that you'd save around 10K on the car price via importing, but I didn't think the wait would be 6 months more 3 months (I guess that's everything going smooth and no troubles) The dealer I would go through has the model I'm after for $38 to $48 so that's within my price range. I've already decided that the car won't be driven much and I intend to use it on the race track here and there rather than for every day use. Let us know what way you have decided to go, it'll be interesting for me at least.
  15. it's not that car in the pic as the skyline in the ad has a full yellow wing, and the car in the pic doesn't have a full yellow wing. Also don't really watch the show I meant to put 5th, but anyway, watching the ads is enough to know the whole show anyway.
  16. I almost forgot about this. Go and get a new battery, it's running out of charge, slowly though so it'll still start but at time it won't start in the mornings etc. The reason why I know, is that a WRX had the exact same problems as yourself wouldn't start up and keep going on cold mornings, etc. Spent something like 6 months and finally the battery died on it's ass put in a brand new battery everything working as if there wasn't anything wrong with the car. This was also after a $500+ full service and had the car completely pulled down and put back together again 3 times and nothing could be said as to what the problem was. So go and get a new battery, a very good one at least $500+ be worth it as the wouldn't be able to handle the drain placed on it and also can't charge up quick enough. Lets us know if that fixes it also, as I think a guy with a commonwhore has the same problem, stalls on starts he's changed the computer 3 times also meh haha ha.
  17. At the end of the ad for home away there's a road race between some car (home away actor) and a R33 Skyline yellow. It should be on 4th of april 2004. You may want to see the R33 win I think, seems that way in the ad.
  18. I'd say if it's set in the USA, then you'll get USA cars not much else. if it's set somewhere else then you'll get cars that be driven there in the movie. Over in the USA most people won't know what a skyline is because you can't get them there, so it's no point in putting skylines into a movie that's based in a place where you can't really import the car let alone buy it.
  19. If the GTR is going to look like that then, I would like to buy one. If it's going to have eletric mototrs in it then it'll have heaps of torque.
  20. I think you need to look at things in a different way. Most of that report is only based on crashes on a highway, most of the crashes involing speed arn't on a highway and don't require another car to be around. I've driven around suburbs and seen cars completely wiped out because they took a corner too fast and hit into a tree, sure it might not have been a 100ks but was probably at 60ks trying to go around a corner that really should be taken at 30-40ks or less. This is why they add in these types of crashes as well. Another one is speeding yourself but someone doesn't want to stop at a intersection or a red light and trys to speed on through. Almost everyday I go through an T intersection where the max speed is probably 5-10ks, ie very slow, but I'm on the road that goes through, and I have to go onto the other side of the road because people won't A) slow down B) Stop at the line. They just keep going through as if I'm not going to hit their front end or not even there even if they look they still keep on trying to do 5-10ks to get around. I surprised I havn't been hit in the side. This could be classed as another speeding crash. Another just further up the same road, people come speeding out of a suburbian road another sort of T intersection, they just speed out they don't look they don't care, I'm just waiting for the day that someone comes speeding by 10 meters in front of me and I hit the side of their car. 90% of crashes are done at speeds below 40ks, but most are people not wanting to stop or slow down for a tad. If you never go through intersections like this you'll never reliase what the point is, and I didn't till I started going through these intersections everyday. I don't bother speeding through them because if I was doing 80ks or more someone will be dead one day.
  21. Check out the paint all over inside and outside. Open the doors and check for different paint marks, odd bends etc. Open the boot and pull up the carpet, look at the paint and any scratches or odd bends, also check out the boot lid hinges for change of paint. Also look for any paint over spray. The above will let you know that the car has had some work done to it, either by change of paint or it's been in a crash and been re-sprayed. You can take a tape measure and measure both sides between the wheels and if they are differant then the car has been in a crash and fixed up. Check onder the wheels looking for oil leaks etc, look at the breaks to see if they are scored if they are they will need to be replaced at some point down the track, same with any oil leaks as well. Also check at the back and look under the car, where the diff is, chack for oil spray or leaks if there's a spray then the seals will need to be fixed, if it's leacking oil either the seal is gone or something worse. The oil spray is a comman prob thou. The front right hand side wheel (may be the left), can get an oil spray same as above the seal is on the way out. Another comman prob. Test drive it, and if you can or want to, change between 4th and 5th gears, if this cruches or doesn't slide in properly or well then it means you have a problem with the gearbox and it will need to be fixed up at some point. This is another comman problem as well. There's all the other things as well like driving smoothly, driving straight (drive on straight road, let go of the steering wheel and see where the car goes) You can get side to side by the air in the front tires being different so maybe a tire guage would be good to have around to check that.
  22. I seen this in the mag as well, done by calweel or ces racing a name like that down in melb. From the looks to me, they will have problems if they are having the engine that close to people, I'll just say, it's going to be a little hot 5 inches away from you, and I think it's too far in the van. The back of the jet engine is at the half way mark inside of it can anyone say "bob's cooked, ere ya go kids..." or "hey the back of the van is melting away for some reason...?"
  23. You'd be looking at the 1.2-1.5 million yen mark. 1.2 million yen = $15,000aud 1.5 million yen = $18,500aud you'd add on an extra $5,000AUD TO $10,000AUD for the extras.
  24. Your best to buy stock, I've been looking around as well. And I think you could get a R34 GT-R non v-spec for around the $40,000 to $45,000 imported and all the on the road costs. no idea about an R33 GT-R but it'd be less maybe $30,000 all up? Right now I just did a conversion, for a 90,000 yen to aud and it is $1108.80 AUD. I've checked that at 3 different converters and it's same at each one. So you can get some real cheap cars, just need the time to wait for a good car at the right price.
  25. Would be a great race car, though you'd never be able to rego it for the roads. Probably looking at a good $500,000 to 1 million AUD, going by prices to start in the V8's and that'd be cheap.
