  1. As I have an Auto Tranny, I had to place the gearbox into Neutral, then switch on the car. I had to quickly move to steering wheel from left to right (slightly) very quickly 5 times, then I had to pump the brake pedal 5 times. The HICAS light should start to flash. This tells you that it worked. Then you release the hand brake and reverse or drive forward for a couple of metres (no faster than 5km's per hour) BUT DO NOT MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL!! KEEP THE STEERING STRAIGHT OR IT WILL GO INTO SELF DIAGNOSIS MODE AND TRY TO MOVE THE BACK WHEELS LEFT AND RIGHT ON IT'S OWN, then stop, put the handbrake up and place into park. The HICAS is now in full diagnostic mode. Then you will get a serious of quick flashes for about 5 seconds. After that, the HICAS light will switch off for a couple of seconds. Diagnosis ------------ You will now get either ONE long falsh (about one scond long) or TWO flashes (about one second long each). ONE FLASH = HICAS IS OK TWO FLASH = PROBLEM! If you get only one flash then you will get a serious of quick flashes that go for around 5 seconds again, this means that there is nothing wrong with the HICAS. Other wise , you'll get the error code flashes. These last for about 0.5 a second each with about a 1 second gap in between. Count the number of error flashes and then compare it to the chart that can be found here, under HICAS Diagnostic: http://www.powerlink.co.nz/%7Egraeme/faq/index.html When finished, you will need to end the diagnostic mode by switching off your car. Done! ;-) Rogue
  2. Hi, I have a HICAS problem with my R33 Gts-t '93. I have done the diagnosis and I have a problem with the 'Fail-Safe Valve'. Can someone please tell where this can be found and how to fix this? Possibly what can cause this? Thanks, rogueman
  3. Hi guyz, My R33 GTST is due for a service, and was wondering if anybody could help me in getting a list of replacement parts with model numbers for spark plugs, oil filter, fuel filter, brake fluid, brake pads, etc. Please help... thanks
  4. Hey Guyz, I have an R33 GTST. I installed an El Gauge dash kit, which turned out really good. However, after re-installing the dash and all, I noticed that I couldn't start my engine! When switching the ignition on just before cranking the engine over, I can hear a really continuously loud buzzing noise from the front of the car. When I try to crank the engine, I get a really loud ticking noise. The engine doesn't crank over at all, just makes that damn strange noise. Also, when switching the headlights on, the stereo loses power for a few seconds and then comes back on. I checked my fuses and they all appear to be fine. Originally, I thought that perhaps I might have a wire that isn't earthed properly, so I disconnected the El Gauge kit and removed it completely, but still no luck! I removed the stereo, but I still have the same problem! I have checked all wiring for a mistake somewhere, but everything seems to be good. The first time I tested it, everything appearing to be perfectly fine, I even cranked the engine over and that worked perfectly fine. After re-installing the dash, I got these problems. Does anybody have any ideas???? Please help or give me any suggestions that you might have....I'm desperate! Regards, Nick
  5. thanks for your reply. what do you mean by 'flasher can'? what does it look like and where can I locate it? Regards
  6. Thankz guyz... I've ordered the official manual. ;-)
  7. Hey Guyz, Just wondering if anyone has a copy of the proper Nissan service manual for an R33 GTST? I traded my 180sx in for a Skyline, from which I downloaded the PDF file from the internet, but I am having difficulties in locating an official manual for my specific skyline. Please let me know if you have a copy or if you know where I could download one from.... Thanks
  8. Hey Guys, I installed an El Gauge for my dash yesterday, and when going for a test run, I noticed that m indicators wouldn't work. For example, the indicator would swith into place, but there was no ticking noise nor any lights on the dash and not actually switching on the lights.... I have pulled apart my indicator to see if there has been any damage to the switch, but everything seems fine. It's not loose, and it falls into position correctly. The strangeest thing is that when I set my alarm, the the indicators light up on the car, as well as on the dash??? I have checked to see if my hazard lights work and they work perfectly fine. I have checked ALL my fuses and they are all perfectly fine. My car is in pieces at the moment. Please HELP!!!
  9. Thanks alot for that! I know exactly what ya mean... ;-)
