  1. have had a hard time tracking down a genuine new front bumper, lip, and side skirt and one month short of 2 years have finally had it land in the country. was told it was the last they could source from nissan japan and its no longer in production. am wondering whether to get a fibreglass mould of it before fitting in case i wreck another one and if this is something others would be interested in? as of yet have no idea of cost or who can do it.
  2. im pretty sure the alternators are the same. I remember researching it ages ago and that apparently over the life of the rb25/26 Nissan has used like 6 different models of alternators from different suppliers. all have same dimensions/pulleys/amps. and that's when I found the rb 20 and rb30 also have the same just older. however note that the commodore rb30 alternator is different to the skyline rb30. as for the starter I just googled around on the day that it conked out and found people using the rb30 starter on various rb25/26 engine and gearbox setups
  3. http://www.jasoceania.com.au/PDF%20File/units%20cat%202009-2010/Alternator%20Hitachi%20Reman.pdf just found the one i got, its remanufactured, meaning cleaned up with new regs and such. its ARJ036. its been fine on my rs260.
  4. same as for the starter, rb30 starter has less teeth with different size cog which in the end works same as rb26 starter
  5. i ended up with one listed for old rb30 skyline through jas oceania and it fitted straight in
  6. i have a set of these on my black 260. http://www.koya.com.au/?cars=endless-black-s2c-19 mine are 245 wide and not sure of offsets. we made front and back the same offset between the two offsets on the front and back of the standard mags. they clear the brembo's fine and can be customised to the desired offset at the factory. the biggest issue i found with mags was caliper clearance and in qld spacers are illegal and will get you defected
  7. Am wondering if anyone has any advice what clutches to look at. i have a s1 98 autech stagea with currently 260hp at the wheels and wanting to go to about 350-400hp. its a daily drive and i also tow my boat with it. occassionally when i get bored i do helicopters in it aswell. currently it has an exedy single plate that i am not real satisfied with and its starting to slip. i am looking at the nismo twin plate and am wondering if anyone has used it in their stagea and any recommendations of other clutches.
  8. a boost leak turned mine to crap one day, not quite like yours. mine wouldnt rev over 2000rpm under load, free rev at 8000rpm. hose clamp wasnt tightened at all and the hose was letting alot of air out under boost.
  9. custom built at ace exhaust rockhampton qld. he rated it at 1500kg and used a 2000kg bar cost about $800
  10. here is a pic of the two stageas i drove around while on my license suspension
  11. heres some pics for ya. took me a while to figure out how to post the bloody things. forgot to add that they had to drop the exhaust an inch to be able to fit the mount on the chassis
  12. ive had both a rs4 and an autech s1 not s2 but there was a huge difference in performance. the rs4 swayed like a boat and the 260 doesnt. autech is manual (big plus) although i miss the sunroofs in the rs4. the autech goes faster (stock). autech has pretty gauges in the centre console and 4 wheel steer. and the autech can do helicopters, tried in the rs4 and it scared the shit out of me whereas the autech smoked the tires and made me dizzy an rs4 can be brought to the same spec but there is more difference than just adding power.there is brakes/suspension, dunno if s2 rs4s have 4 wheel steer, finding one in manual or making one, the body kit, honestly out of the two i prefer the autech the only thing i miss is the sunroofs but the autech looks cooler, goes faster, handles better and mine is currently on 185,000kms
  13. i have a s1 260 with a towbar. i only tow the boat with it. the boat itself weighs 1100kg. it pulls it no problem. still hits 140 overtaking and would go faster if i wasnt a pussy. it rides fairly well but mine has aftermarket shocks it came over with, they are green (bilsteins i think cant remember). and with the setup it came with it has the suspension properties of a shopping trolley (wheel hangs in air entering my friends driveway). however when towing it is a thirsty bloody thing at around 25L/100km could be the tune on the power fc and it constantly flutters on and off boost cause of the weight. the towbar i got done at a shop in rockhampton qld and it was a custom build he used a 2000kg bar and rated it at 1500kg for me and cost about $800, the bar is cut into the rear bumper with a hayman reese style removable tongue and i can put a cap on it if i want but i just leave the bar in. i will try to get a pic for you as a reference
  14. i use my 260 stagea to tow my boat, it has the power to pull it and rides well. only problem is fuel consumption, it might be the tune but it uses roughly 25L/100km. the boat weighs 1100kg plus the weight of the trailer. so it pulls it but its expensive
  15. just wondering how rare the flap is where the spare wheel goes. its a vinyl piece covered in stagea emblems so you can sit in the back and not scuff the bumper i think. i had two stageas one had it the other didnt. so i swiped it upon selling the first one cos it looks cool
