  1. Come on guys, one of the best and rarest R33's going around, and it's still for sale so - *bump*!! ...also, here's a couple of pics of the new CD/MP3 player and the boot too...
  2. Hehehe, sorry mate - I've already bought a brand new car so can't do any swaps. Thanks anyway!
  3. Thanks for all the compliments guys - buy this car if you want to be seen! ...bump!
  4. Thanks mate, it certainly is a beautiful car. Bumpage!!!
  5. Specs: .2dr turbo coupe .5spd manual .138,000km's ***SOLD!***
  6. Awwww, $60 directly from Nissan?! ....damn ebay (or damn my stupidity for assuming Nissan would be pricier, they usually are!!)
  7. There's nothing wrong with the standard Nissan timing belt - dead quiet at idle and has a 100,000k change interval, I got mine for $85.00 off eBay, Nissan sell them for around the same. That being said, my R33 had a very annoying whirring at low revs when I first bought it, and it apparently had a new, genuine Nissan timing belt. I eventually took it to Nissan and had them replace all the belts and tensioner/idler pulleys as part of a major service...It turned that the tensioner bolt was slightly bent which was causing most of the 'hum' or whirring at idle, it's perfect now - might want to check this out if you're having this problem.
  8. Hmm, doubt it - my old R32 never did it...Unless it's an RB25 thing? It really does sound clutch/drivetrain related IMO.
  9. Pretty sure mine is an exedy heavy duty organic clutch, not button style but it still has the shuddering noise...unless of course I'm wrong about what type of clutch I have (previous owner installed).. How would I tell if mine's a button clutch? It drives just like a normal clutch, just a bit heavier, really easy in traffic...unlike many button clutches...
  10. Hey there, re: The squealing noise - sounds like one of your belts is too slack and needs tightening, it's a 5 min job for a mechanic. re: fuel pump, is it the standard pump? They're usually very quiet, I can't hear mine in my series 2, but if it's done heaps of k's it could be noisily on its way out...Aftermarket installations can sometimes be heard buzzing/humming away at idle and even when accelerating...
  11. Hi mate, Check this thread for other ppl experiencing the same thing: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=143714 I don't have the whining noise you mention, but I do have another clutch related noise - a lovely chirping sound (sounds like a cricket!) most likely caused by either a worn thrust bearing or input shaft bearing, goes away as soon as you push the clutch in.........Why didn't the previous owner have this replaced when they did the clutch??!!?! It's like a 90c part or something ridiculous like that. ...Hope someone comes up with a solution!
  12. Ok guys, for anyone who's interested - I've found out what causes this problem - it's actually the power steering rack, there are a set of teflon collars that interface the column to the rack, as these wear out and deteriorate it can lead to the pulsing that I'm experiencing. Apparently the only solution is to have the rack reconditioned.
  13. I had BOV leakage issues in my old R32 when I decided to run up to 1.1bar...Blocking up the recirc hole didn't really do much IMO, I've read heaps articles/forum topics about this very BOV on this very topic, because I was so interested at the time...and still am now! I discovered the function of the recirc hole (in very non-technical terms) is to allow the BOV to open as fast as possible, even at very low boost (and near-boost vacuum levels)...hence the loss of down-low driveability, slight surging & flutter exhibited when blocking it up....with not much benefit - the BOV is opening slowly now and as such allowing some air to reverse back through the turbo & AFM...causing incorrect readings which are then fed back to the ECU. That being said, I took the idea further and made up a plate to go underneath the BOV that had a hole around 1cm diameter in the middle, essentially making the BOV even less able to flow air...This had an enormous effect, and is where I picked up the extra 1 psi of boost and the much increased response after gear changes...From this experiment I can only surmise that the BOV was leaking quite severely through its seating (the car must've done around 170-180,000k's, many of which at higher then standard boost)...Side effects were that the car was way more inclined to surge on throttle lifts, had the occasional near-stall when returning to idle and air reversion (flutter) on every single gear change when on boost, but power was up and it felt much more lively...Conclusion - a better BOV was what I really needed ...If I wanted to keep stock-like driveability as well as keep the increase in response. (newer stock or GTR BOV retrofit was what I was thinking at the time)
  14. Hi mate, I've got exactly the same thing - funnily enough I've got an exedy clutch in there as well, and searching this forum has netted a few other exedy owners who've had similar issues in the past...hmmmmm. Wish I could definitively tell you what causes it, Nissan had a look at it for me when I had my major done last week, they agreed that it was the clutch or drivetrain, other ppl have also mentioned tailshaft specifically (not being indexed correctly or something?)......
  15. Hi Guys, Looking to buy a set of RB25DET inlet manifold runners (bottom half of the intake manifold, underneath the plenum) in excellent condition with little/no corrosion, the water inlet on mine is 50% corroded around the lip (as shown below), so I need to find one that's intact asap! ...Series 2 is preferred. Let me know if you have a set in good nick. Thanks!
  16. Hey, I also have this noise...Only just figured out it was the clutch last night, also an exedy heavy duty that was installed by the previous owner...For me it happens between 1000-2000rpm in 2nd-above when applying throttle...Can anyone shed any light on how to get rid of this extremely annoying noise?
  17. Hey lingeringsoul...nah, no big deal - hence the reason I haven't bothered getting it fixed...but yes it's kinda annoying! I'm going to get the full wheel alignment, balance, new p/s fluid all done with my major service, so I'll let you know if any of those solve the problem...not holding my breathe just quietly.
  18. hey mr crust - good advice, I'm definitely going to get all that done, I suspect that an alignment wasn't done after the previous owner lowered it & also when the castor bushes were replaced. thanks blind_elk - I'll check out my alternator this weekend, just interested how this could affect the steering - I guess it must have something to do with it being speed sensitive?
  19. Thanks guys, but I'm not convinced it's the discs...like LiQuid IcE mentioned, it also does it while the car is stationary with the wheel half turned...(which I should've mentioned originally!) so that would rule out the brakes... blind_elk - that's an interesting one, I'm almost positive the TPS sensor is connected properly, I've used my consult diagnostic tool and can see that it reads (IIRC) around 0.3V on closed throttle and smoothly increases to 4.8V (once again IIRC) at full throttle...any other ideas?
  20. Yep, when slowing from high speeds - but unfortunately that's only a really recent thing (discs have worn unevenly).
