Hey guys, i just done a few practise launches...and i can definitely say anything under 6000 just bogs, and is slower than just putting my foot down from idle.....as when it bogs it kind of jumps, bunny hops?? 6500-7000 seems the best compromise, though even then it feels like its got way too much traction, is it my stiff suspension, my aggressive camber, or my 265 tyres that could be causing this???....... Basically it doesnt fell like a full blown GTR launch at all, more like a get me going sort of launch if that makes any sense.....my limiter is at 7500 so i dont see it getting any better.... Any ideas?....would lowering tyre pressure from 32psi help, or make it more grippy? ...i done a test 1/4, and with a real bad bog bunny hop launch at 4000, i managed a 13.5@203km with 317awkw.....does this sound about right?...so i dont know how much time the bog launch took off, but im hoping for a low 12... Thanks in advise...

  3. Hey guys, ive just had some cam gears installed for my rb26 motor....i hear theyre good upgrade for response....do i need to retune after each cam gear adj?...is there a base setting to go by for a definitive kick in response? Thanks

Great Thread!.....ive been down this path, so here's what ive done to get similar power (im running 317awkw).. r33rb26dett (unopened bottom end) R34 N1's (-7's equilavent?)...no choice here as it came with my 2nd motor) bosch 044 fuel pump (internal mount) nismo 555cc injectors (running at 90% duty) arc intake and cold air box 3" exhaust with aftermarket dump pipes power fc Tune + boost tap This is an extremely nice car to drive daily, and the response is awesome for the street!....im really happy with the tune..i need an EBC as boost dips off with my tap... If i had a choice now though, i think i would go for -5's, as id like the bigger hit when it comes on boost as right now its extremely progressive...i dont mind the lag, and generally lag is 1st gear.... Your choice...either way 300+ is going to be fun to drive for you good luck
  5. Thanks - ill definitely lay off the accelator between gears then...dont really want to brake anything!.... just wondering if dropping the tire pressure on 265 tyres to 22psi is still a good idea (street tyres)
  6. Cheers for all the tips. For my 265 is 22psi all round a good starting point?.....i done a few launches, at 4000 i get huge bog...6000-7000rpm launches seem just right though and it bites and im away also i have some alreasy stiff coilover suspension...its damper adj and the damper setting is around half way...should i adjust for the drags? Is it bad to have the accelerator floored the whole time? ie not taking your foot off during gear shifts?... ....one thing id like to say....after a few launches i could really smell my clutch...is this normal? Thanks to all!...im gnna practise Handbrake techniques tommorow:)
  7. Thanks for all the replies guys, im gonna give it a shot next week and see how i go.... My mates gnna give me a few tips, and also let me practise beforehand (legally:)..... Just concerned....i'm really not keen on giving it too much hard launches, as im about to sell it.....just want to post a time so i can say ive done so. How much time can i good launch take off?.....i mean if i was to just WOT without a launch from the green light, will i post a bad time? Cheers.
  8. Hey guys, Im going to enter the Drags for the 1st time ever, never entered before, so its going to be a good learning experience.. Few problems, ive never launched my GTR, so its going to be quite interesting,.....anyone have some advise/quick hints tips?.... What could i do to get better times, im thinking of removing my interior....done it enough times already, so that wont be a major...how about lowering my tyre pressures?.... quick roundup of my GTR R33 GTR RB26 312AWKW 265/35/18 tyres all round (32psi t/pressure) adjustable suspension (damper/height) Aftermarket Clutch (hopefully it handles the launches ok) Any tips? Hey guys, id like to retune my car in the next few months...just getting my next parts list fitted......i just need to know whether its worth me doing a re-tune for better power...and driveability...its already a great car to drive, but maybe these upgrades will help make it even nicer:)...im not really after big power now (as its a stock internal motor) heres my current mods (running a nice 312awkw on rb26 stock motor) Rb26 r33 gtr R34 N1 BB Turbos Bosch 044 intank pump nismo 555cc injectors (running 90% d/c) ARC cold air box, filter stock AFM's Stock Cooler 3" Exhaust with Aftermarket Split Dumps aftermarket clutch HKS Cam Gears (they have been zero-in, and not been touched with last tune) Bleed Valve Heres my next upgrade list for next tune: Tomei Cams 9.15mm lift? Bigger Injectors - 700cc? Have my Adj Cam gears tuned Buy an EBC for better boost control...my boost dips currenty with the bleed valve...at 5000 its 21psi...6000 its 18psi....7500 its 17psi....dips quite badly but not noticeable when driving funny enough... Now my main question...will i be hapy with the re-tune after getting these upgrades done?...
  10. As per title...what sor of power are people making from there twin r34 n1 turbos?...im currently makin 312 awkw....and was hoping to go for a bit more soonish...need to know what they are capable of....im hoping 350awkw is acheiveable??? thanks

Hey mate, nice topic....ive got a stock motor and running 312awkw all day everyday....heres my recipe: R33 Rb26dett R34 N1 BB Turbos Bosch 044 Fuel Pump Nismo 555cc Injectors (90% duty cycle) ARC Panel Filter + Cold Air Box 3" Exhaust Turbo Back After Market Dump Pipes Power FC + Hand Controller Iridium Plugs Turbo Smart boost controller (bleed valve) HKS Cam Gears With the above mods i made 312awkw.....i was advised to get bigger injectors, and an EBC for my next tune....and theyll be able to get 330awkw...keep in mind i havent dialed in my cams with my figure so i dont get the most out of my mid range as well......
  12. Add me to the list!!!...... i have a 95 r33 gtr, with power fc, and have the occasional hiccup with the car at light loads, generally ~2500-3500rpm.... Im so used to it now it doesnt bother me (so long as it doesnt damage its all good)......i have it happen once every few days....

Hey guys, im having some really weird issues with my r33 gtr right now.....heres the mods: r33 rb26 motor bosch 040 fuel pump r34 n1 turbos nismo 555cc injectors aftermarket dumps apexi powerfc iridium plugs I had my car tuned about 4 months ago and got 312kw atw....it was running fine up until the last couple of weeks... Basically what happens is that when i wide open throttle after keeping revs high for awhile, my car will start choking/missing???......ie...lets say im in 2nd gear holding 5000rpm constant for a few seconds.....then i wide open throttle (foot to ground)....my car starts missing and choking, and jolts really badly.... Now if i wide open throttle from the get go (ie at the lights)....i dont have this issue at all, its only when my revs are kept constant and then i boot it....i was thinking maybe boost spike?, or missing due to plugs/coilpacks???? Ive noticed this occur twice....once while going around a corner holding, the other when going up a hill.....ive noticed my car sounds a little different aswell (like a exhaust leak somewhere maye???)..... Please help diagnose issue....anyone else had similar issues?....ive had issues where the missing was constant (ie after certain revs)....but this is totally different, as its only when i hold the revs, then give it WOT!!!
  15. Thanks alot guys, i really like the plain and simple r33 gtr's - they dont really need alot from factory to look good...like someone posted... Lowered suspension......nice rims with right offset...i love te37s on them Thanks!
