  1. Epic build. I can't believe this is all done with stock diffs, driveshaft and suspension. Insane! I'm not at all surprised that this beast is as stable as it is... that was one of the first things I came to appreciate with these cars after putting the foot into my 260RS the stability under speed and in corners is quite a surprise and a pleasure to drive. And the series 1 ain't nothing to frown at... I restored mine with new silver trim and grey lenses on the front from Dolphin (original 260RS) part and they look mean as hell from the front. Plus it's all colour coded, I get heaps of looks and positive comments from randoms on the street.
  2. Hi Micah, I just read your post, are you still going ahead with the GT-SS on your car? Was just checking as I saw you had 400kw atw as your goal and from everything I've read these turbos pretty much top out at 350kw when matched with the right supporting mods. Looking forward to hearing how you all go with your setup. I'm getting pretty close now. The safe/low boost tune was just completed and the numbers are looking pretty impressive on pulp. This tune hasn't had any timing or other things added as yet, we had to stop though as my gearbox let go in 3rd gear and will resume tuning low and high boost for pulp/e85 in the new year. I've got a spare box which is going in today so I'll atleast get to drive it over the holiday period. Here's some photos..
  3. Hi Guys, An old subject I know but I've just lost 3rd gear and it was only making 340kw atw. It's in a Stagea 260RS which is made from R33 GTR Series 3 parts. My question to anyone out there is will any R33 gtr gearbox be a direct swap or did things change between each model. I've also had everything installed for flex fuel and on a built motor, the figures above was only a safe tune on 18 pound. Where expecting around 400kw atw on pulp and 450kw atw on E85. My second question here is can you do anything when rebuilding a box to make it stronger without going to full PPG/ Aftermarket gear options. I'd prefer to keep the weak link in the gearbox considering how cheap they are to replace as opposed to damaging the motor or driveshaft. I'm considering sending my old box to Competition Gearboxes but I wanted to explore all available options whilst I wait for the funds to clear in the new year.
  4. Hi Guys, Not sure if any of you are going to the AusGarage Meet and Trade Expo but if you are or maybe thinking about it I'm going to be taking my car out there to do some promotional work for the people who helped with some of the work I've done recently. I'm just about done now with almost everything in the car brand new. I even had the chrome moulds all around the car replaced by Nissan then colour coded everything on the body which is still retaining it's stock 260RS bodykit. The photos are a few weeks old now and without the motor in the car so it's sitting a little high but thought I'd share a preview of how it's coming along. It's in at the workshop atm getting a flex tune for E85/Pulp. The most recent mods included manifolds extrude honed and port matched, HKS 2530's port matched and HPC Turbo ceramic coatings on manifolds and turbos. Tomei dump pipes and custom front pipe with twin 3" to 3.5" out which matches up the dumps 3" to the kakimoto 3.5" out. I've added a walbro 400lph in tank fuel pump and Injector Dynamics ID2000's and have also added the Nismo Plenum to the existing HKS Type R intercooler and piping kit. I also went with a Hybrid Greddy intake system and still used part of an existing HKS Racing suction kit to connect to the filters. I can't wait to get my car back, it's been nearly 3 years since I started working on this car and these final pieces should just about do it for me. I'm hoping to get around 450kw atw on E85 and with my built motor and worked head... I hope these last remaining mods will get me close to my goal. The event is on the 21st of October 2:30 – 7:00pm at Rocklea market in Rocklea. (Brisbane QLD). And for old times sake.... this is what the car looked like before the new paint.
  5. Turbos have been sold. Everything else is still for sale with some discounting to move these on. I've also included some additional items that are ready for me to collect from the workshop. HKS Racing Suction Reloaded Intake System $700 AEM UEGO Wifi wideband with 2 EGT sensors $380 JUN Sump baffle $320 Nissan N1 Oil Pump $130 NISMO 280lph Fuel Pump $270 HKS 660cc Injectors $380 HKS Dump pipes $350 Apexi Front pipe $190
  6. All good... I should've qualified, the bonnet and rear door struts. I've got a mobile guy going out this afternoon to replace all 4 with some brand new ones.
  7. Hi Guys, Does anyone know of any wrecking yards with a C34 intact? Preferably in the BNE area though happy to pay courier to get it transferred quickly. I'm looking for some struts to replace one that was broken on the rear and another that was bent at the front. Cheers, Adam
  8. I got some of the parts back today from the workshop. The good news is the turbos are in great condition with no shaft play and are sitting in my garage. I bought these new and where only ever used on the road with no track or drag work. I had a few ppl enquire on these, first to commit with deposit received will have these shipped immediately. Price listed above includes shipping at my expense to anywhere within AU.
  9. Okay guys whoever wants the Garrets go and buy them, I got 4 people interested in the turbos and awaiting the report when they come off. Everyone has an opinion and nobody is forcing anyone to buy the stuff. I bought a set of second hand HKS 2530's and I could've got 2860 -5s for the same price.... some may say that's stupid but the numbers in that argument always went the way of the HKS unit. At the end of the day it's a personal decision, so please try and play nice. I paid a premium for these items and the reality is they're well priced for what they would cost to replace.
  10. I forgot something else that's coming off the car. I also have a set of HKS 660cc injectors for sale. Chasing $400 delivered.
  11. No worries mate, I'll update this thread with some feedback once available. I just did a search on what the turbos and suction kit from Japan is going for new delivered to Australia. Maybe I'm underselling these a little. Over $4600 delivered.
  12. I bought the pump with a motor about 18 months back... It was meant to have been new but it was fitted to the motor so I cant tell if that's legit or not but it's definitely clean and new looking. Did you see the photo I took from the previous listing?
  13. You will have to let me know how you go with your setup. I've literally just finished putting together the parts for my final upgrade... I say final as I'm likely to end up separated from the misses if I continue on with doing what I've done with the car. I ended up getting a Nismo plenum btw. I returned the Tomei manifolds and got a set of standard manifolds that had been extrude honed and had them and the 2530's port matched and HPC ceramic coated the turbos and manifolds. I also ended up getting the Greddy suction kit and now I'm done... E85 flex fuel setup is booked and should have it back within a month, the motor is pulled first with a full respray in the Aston Martin DB9 Quantum Silver inside and out. I really hope I get over 400kw atw and anything towards the 450 would be awesome..... all things considered I think I've done everything I can to get every last piece out of my motor, time will tell. Sorry I couldn't get the 02 sensors for those interested. I will though be putting in EGT sensors on both turbos so will share what I can from the results there. At the very least we should see if the air distribution is even as the temps should be fairly equal if the fuel flows are the same. Can't wait to get it back... just trying to figure out how I'm going to get United E85 from Warwick to Brisbane. I'm considering hiring a truck and taking some drums then transporting it back. I rang United today, $1.12 a litre. That's a little over $220 per drum.... 320km round trip with truck hire. Now if anyone knows how the feck to get the drums off the truck I'd like to know. I've heard some folk using old tires to bounce them down gently. I really want to tune my car with United though may can the idea as I'm still trying to confirm with United HO that it's definitely coming online in BNE within the next 12 months.
  14. Hi Guys, I have some parts that will be available from next week, the turbos and filters are getting removed next Monday 20th August. If you live in the Brisbane area the turbos and racing pod filter kit is currently installed and I'd be happy to take you out if you're genuinely interested and have the cash to prove it. Up for sale are a set of genuine HKS GT-SS turbos that have seen 18,000 km's... they still go strong and really come onto boost early and are perfect for a stock motor. I'm chasing $2000 and will deliver them anywhere in AU for that price. The second item coming off the car is HKS Racing Suction Reloaded Intake System, this has seen about 10,000 km's and like the turbos has no damage and is in perfect working order. I'm looking for $800 delivered anywhere in AU. If you want both the turbos and the intake I'll sell them together for $2600. The last item I have for sale is an AEM UEGO Wifi wideband with 2 EGT sensors, brand new and still in the boxes and plastic. I never ended up using these due to a change in ecu to the Haltech and I went with the sensors they make instead. This unit uses your smartphone as the display which when connected via wireless appears as a website with all the live data coming in. Perfect for those who don't want to mess up the dash with a clusterf%$k of gauges. I'm selling this complete unit and two EGT sensors for $400 delivered. I'm a genuine seller, I've sold other items previous to the listing below which shows some feedback from the buyers who purchased these goods: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/389349-garage-cleanout-fcs-oil-fuel-pumps-baffles-afms-wheels/page__p__6203708#entry6203708 From that listing I still have these parts available below which include photos of the items in the link above. Brand new in box JUN Sump baffle, I'm chasing $350 delivered for this. N1 oil pump, I had listed this a while back as a Nismo N1 but I got this wrong, I thought all N1 pumps where Nismo but I was corrected that there is actually a Nismo N1 and a Nissan N1. I'm looking for $150 if anyone is keen let me know.
  15. Ah bugger I missed the cruise, hadn't checked on the thread in a couple weeks. Oh well, another time.
  16. Hi Guys, I'm looking for a Greddy or Nismo plenum for an RB26... I would prefer one new though would buy second hand if everything looks above board. Call me on 0402 101 939 if you're able to help. Thanks, Adam
  17. Looking to buy factory exhaust manifolds that has been extrude honed. Call 0402 101 939 if you have what I'm looking for.
  18. Fair point on what's been said.. No point in burning coin if the gains are so small. Stock manifolds will stay. I'll just get them ported and port matched to the 2530s. I'll post up my results when I have them.
  19. Thanks guys for all the input, you guys have really been awesome in helping clear things up a little. I'm glad I took the time to post this all up and based on this feedback I've put the Tomei Expreme manifolds up for sale... I'm going to send them back at the end of the week if I can't find a buyer.... I guess whatever the loss is on these it will end up being cheaper than replacing something that might brake under the load I'm wanting to push this too. To answer some of the questions asked before, my tuner has done flex fuel before and knows the Haltech system quite well. As for the leaning on 5th and 6th cylinder he knows about this though I guess if you didn't have to tune for it ie) running richer than it would help tidy up the tune too by not having to pump extra fuel in to compensate for that. Also re: the head I made a mistake here and left the stock lifters and valves... I have the Tomei Type B cams in there atm... I'm going to raise this with my engine builder too to find out what it would cost to get something that would better match the 2530's. The other point to mention is the car isn't in pieces at all, its driving about now with the motor as described in the my original post with stock plenum, manifold and pair of HKS GT-SS turbos..... I'm just preparing myself for the switch to E85 flex fuel and have the HKS 2530's coming from Japan and the ID2000's which I'm still saving for. The final thing to decide then is whether to go 6boost low mount manifold VS porting and port matching the stock one. I've spent so much getting it to where it is now, I don't want to skimp on the manifolds and plenum if there are some benefits to be had in the tuning and performance side of things...... I also don't mind if it takes me another 8 weeks to save up to get this setup to achieve the best results.
  20. Hi Guys, I have for sale a set of brand new Tomei Expreme Manifolds to suit an RB26. I am going a different direction now and will have these for sale for a very limited time. These are brand new in the box still wrapped in plastic. If they haven't sold by the end of the week I'm going to be shipping them back for a refund on the purchase price. You will not find these anywhere else cheaper, $800 firm delivered anywhere in Australia. I will not budge on this price, I can't go any lower as I would be making more back on my loss by sending them back. Cheers, Adam Check out my other items I have for sale including Bosch Z32's with adapters, Nismo N1 Oil Pump and a Jun Sump baffle here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/389349-garage-cleanout-fcs-oil-fuel-pumps-baffles-afms-wheels/page__fromsearch__1 You can also see from the other items I have sold on SAU that I will not mess you about and that this offer is completely genuine.
  21. I would've thought a 10% increase from changing a plenum would be pretty far fetched and going by what Nismo having stated less than 2% increase in mid to high on there plenum I would believe them more than some company selling knock offs. I guess I was reading into the 40% increase in size of the Greddy plenum and thinking yeah a 10% increase if true that could be worth while... even more so when you add E85 ontop. Thanks guys for taking the time to respond. I've heard ppl talking about the shuffling issue before with the twins.... is this a characteristic of the low mount setup and why ppl goto high mounts? If this problem was to happen what have ppl done in the past to fix this?
  22. Okay that makes sense what you're saying... so the next myth to de bunk is re: Greddy Plenum. Now I couldn't find anything official stating anything like this, the extra capacity yes though the claim on mid to high range increases seems a little over the top.. assuming these to be exaggerated what would the real numbers be, I tried looking for results etc online but there are none I could find that back up these statements...... it's a local Aussie company who are copying the Greddy plenum for the RB 26. The RB26DETT intake manifold is approximately 40% larger than the standard intake manifold which means your engine can flow all the increase boosted air from turbocharger upgrades. Another advantage of this manifold is that it retains the standard throttle body. This intake manifold is the 'must have' for RB26DETT with upgraded turbo(s). Not only will it increase your overall power but it will noticeably increase your mid to high RPM power range. This manifold can give you a power increase of 15% on standard engine and maximum of40% on a heavy modified engine.
  23. The HKS hard pipe kit I got only replaced the rubber OEM pipes, the twin turbo OEM part still remains. This is an older picture but shows the hard piping kit I've got including the HKS racing pipes & filters, the Air sensors are gone now too ...
  24. Hmm.. Tomei expremes for sale... hahaha Damn it, that $900 would've paid for the port matching and porting. Thanks for tips guys... there goes that Tomei/quality/reliable belief I had. The temps query was referring to the Nismo plenum. I thought if intake temps were lower would help reduce any heat stress to the Tomeis...I also had it wrong thinking the heat wrap was the cause and that you could fix the manifolds so they didn't crack. Intake temperature difference at the entrance of turbo chargers is improved averaging 18% in 2,400 to 7,600 rpm range.
