  1. And what you now need is cruise control for your 'line to get even better economy . . . . or build one to suit . . . . . . . . wait like I did . . . . . . . and never again . . . . . . . . I'd rather snort wasabi ! ! !
  2. Been there done that in the good old days when working for Goodyear in their labs as the Asian import tyres started to hit the market. I tested a wide range with some frightening results with one memorable 4 x 4 tyre flying apart at 120kph. Passenger tyres were substantially cheaper back then with appalling abrasion resistance with what looked like inferior raw materials. There first batches were quite good but after that the arse dropped out the quality with the common trend of substituting raw materials.
  3. I don't have any kids. But I take out the small child that resides in me and scare the crap out of it every time I take out the R33 ! Does that count ?
  4. Oh yes the good old days ! I remember that track in the day an thinking this is unforgiving with no room for any errors as you'd be like the ball in a pinball machine. To dive it at speed beforehand, you'd have to go down to your local fruit shop and buy a couple of coconuts and shove them down your pants ! !
  5. Don't sweat it ! I've just taken a spin around Catalina Park Raceway . . . . . . and its still there . . . .sort of . . . . . now that's confusing !
  6. I've got a cracked drivers side outer rear brake light lens that has finally annoyed me. So I'm after a tail light to swap it out. Can also just be the lens. Located at he foot of the Blue Mountains in Sydney's far west for pick up. PM what you've got
  7. I've only seen one other so that's now two I was impressed with it because all you could see was was the mounting plate just under the number plate after the tow ball neck was removed. Made an offer for it to the owner at the time but they turned me down and said they want to keep it. Found out later that they got the car resprayed and the panel shop took it off and sent it to the metal recyclers Primarily wanted it to put a bike rack on it for my mountain bike Got any pics of it you can post up . . . . . . . and then sell it to me !
  8. What's it not doing ? Going up and down ? I've dismantled a few out of my R33s over the years. Some times they break the internal toothed plastic track that moves the antenna up and down, then its a replacement. ( might be difficult as your in England ? ? ) You used to be able to get plastic track replacements and you might have to match it up from another Nissan model. Either way you still have to pull it apart And times it was just build up of dirt and what looked like corrosion that was stopping it working. A bit of fine metal polish and a heap spray lube got it going gain.
  9. Oh no ! Looks like I'm gonna be the guinea pig on this one !
  10. Hi Everyone. I'm just going through the process of replacing my carpet in my R33 and was looking for feed back on what's available and what everyone else has used. Drivers side heal area has gone right through so I may as well change it all out. Ran searches and came up with both Knox Auto Carpets and Car Mats Direct. Anyone used these or others ?
  11. Bahahaha ! That's hilarious cause I just binned a bunch of them cause I was sick of them sitting around in my garage
  12. Have you got garagecam ? Cause that's me ! ! ! Yes I still know its a sickness. Not even the car intervention helped !
  13. Oh you are so preaching to the converted here. Just recently got a quote on changing the plastic heater pipes, that go into the firewall and then into the heater core, cause I'd had a couldn't be bothered moment. I was cured after I got the quote. Ended up buying the pipes and new heater core ( cause while its all out I aint doin it twice ) for less than a quarter of the original quote and I'll do it myself
  14. Oh I am so jumping on this band wagon ! I'll raise you ! Buy mine ! It comes with an entire spare car for parts . . . . and a complete ready to go RB25/30 . . . . and . . . . 22 years of collected parts as well . . . . Yes I know its a sickness . . . . .
  15. Oops sorry . . . I just realised you've got to be a Kangaroo for you to hear that !
  16. Also I don't really think its 3/4 BSP as that's imperial ! Probably got to be metric coming out of Japan ! Maybe ! Should be ! Could be wrong though ! Be in the 19mm range ! Probably ? Jump in anyone !
  17. Nope that was quite some time ago and all I did was take it out of the block and took it to them and said "want this in brass please" ! Of coarse they said " don't have it with the sticky out the side thingy " and then went through the above to make it happen. I think you will have the same scenario and anyway, one way or another, the original has got to come out of the block.
  18. Lacking info here ! Front hubs ? Gearbox speed sensor ! Looking at my previous post I didn't mention its a GTST ! And "The Bogan" I work in your area PM you soon. That will give me something to do, wiring wise, on rainy days while I'm trying to figure out my 5 Zigen Dual Mode Clutch wiring setup. If your gonna turn your brain to mush, may as well do it properly !
  19. Hmm . . . . you have a traction control unit sitting on the shelf . . . I was considering one for my R33 S1 as I've got a GTR rear end in it with the ABS wiring and sensors on it. Also I have an old school Apexi Power FC Pro and was thinking about seeing if they could work together as the Pro has a launch control function in it
  20. Yah ! Id remake it ! And remake it in brass so you don't ever have to do it again. Can you get it off the block ? If so then take it down to a fitting place and grab a hose barb with the same block thread and main tube size. Also grab a smaller hose barb to do the right angle one coming out of the main one. Cut off the threaded end off the smaller hose barb Drill a hole to the main hose barb the in the same position as the original small one and then press in the small piece and solder it into place. Did similar to my R33 to replace rusted out, nickel plated, steel fittings over the years.
  21. GohiraDave said - "Here in Las Vegas we have 91 with a few stations that sell E85 and 100 octane race gas." ! ! They still sell race gas in service stations in the U.S. ? ? ! ? ! I'm moving to America ! Just out of curiosity what's it worth per litre or rather U.S. gallons ?
  22. And on the Commadore I think I remember seeing that they welded the extra calliper mounts to the stub axels ! Balls of brass that ! Hoping that there will be no cracks in the cast iron, then taking it on a rally trial !
  23. Wow ! It seems everything new is old ! I remember seeing on a early Holden Commadore that was running in the ( I think ) Repco / Redex rally with a set of front dual callipers ! Then I threw a couple of rocks at the Tyrannosaurus rex that was looking funny at me and hid in the back of my cave until it wandered off !
