Hey mate, i had the same prob in my 33- Basicaly not going to hurt your car but it will piss you off- something to do with the clips or someshit wearing them out that hold the top gears in place- Cost me near 2K to fix but that was replacing most parts in the box so basic full rebuild really. Better to try getting a short shift kit see how that goes or buy a 2nd hand box. should only pop out when you back off the throttle yeah? Im under the impression that it happens a fair bit in 33's so unless you want to keep your car for a while i wouldnt bother getting it fixed. Thats my thoughts anyway. Cheers.

R33 White Smoke + Back Firing Problem
TR33NT replied to Stealthynsa's topic in Forced Induction Performance
I suggested in your other post about doing youre plugs, this is for the same reason you have here- I had the same problem, and sometimes it would sound like your going hard and really you could be getting smashed by a lancer... LOL Gap & re-place your plugs, and you wont have that problem- another suggestion is if your run a washable POD then do it, and while your there, clean the face of you air-flow meter too- between those tow probs, you can double your power (well,at least double what your used to being pissed off about- lol) Let me know how you go? -
Missfire Or Something On Boost.
TR33NT replied to Stealthynsa's topic in Forced Induction Performance
When you check the plugs, either put new ones in or re-gap the ones you have... (your already there-) I gap mine at 0.4mm for the high boost- If you were just putting in a boost gauge by rights you should have only put a T piece in a vacuum line yeah?? p.s, when your putting the 12mm bolts back in to secure the coil packs, make sure your careful not to drop the front one down behind the cam gear cover cause its really f**ken hard to get it out if it falls the right way!!! LOL Good luck. -
Rb25 Replacement Turbo? High Flow?
TR33NT replied to sriver killer's topic in Forced Induction Performance
The Dump can handle whatever you throw at it.. i couldnt imagine a stock turbo hitten 25psi without a bang but it does fine with just 14 psi now- Im going to4e high mount with ext w/gate soon enough, that should prove to be interesting, str8 3inch from turbo to canon... mmm... lol -
Rb25 Replacement Turbo? High Flow?
TR33NT replied to sriver killer's topic in Forced Induction Performance
It certainly runs alot faster when its on 14psi then any other- you dont have to be clever to figure that out- it was a little bumpy above 13 at first, then i gutted the cat- then it went fine- now with the 3inch catback its running even better! -

Hey there- What the bloody hell is R+R?? i run 14psi on my stock turbo (rb25) and runs kick ass!! lol I have my plugs gapped at 0.5mm and just have FMIC, HKS POD, 3inch catback and dont have the missing prob- I only recently got the catback done too and didnt have the issue before- so just curious, Am i just lucky??
