  4. i don't think GTR's come from factory with hks or trust turbo's lol.. it's the standard GT28 turbo's.. but no one can tell if which models have the ball bearing ones RedR32 - would u know what is his asking price? cheers
  5. thanks RedR32. I was under the impression that some early model GTR's (maybe R32's??) came with non-bb turbo's then the later models were updated with ball bearing units. I know that the R32 GTS-T's came with ceramic wheels instead of steel making them frail with anything over 13-14psi. pity about the "winding back the clock" issue.. yeh I know it's one of their favourite past times, but I hope in finding a late model GTR, it might be more "believable".
  6. cheers. I'll be getting it thotoughly checked out for sure as I have heard "stories" of how they have been driven and "used". would u know which ones have what turbo's on them?
  7. Hi am about to start shopping for a GTR this weekend I understand GTR's come with T28 turbo's but not all models are ball bearing units. Can anyone pls shed which which year models had the old school T28's and which ones came with the ball bearing versions of the T28? Also, what sort of "flaws" should I look out for or common faults with the R33 models? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks and Happy New Year all. - M
  8. thanks so much guys for all the info and responses. had a good time reading through and the toughest part would be trying to work out exactly what I want the car to do for me. Coming from a 200kw wrx, I think I would still prefer the 4wd system and good streetability. but sometimes, after watching various video clips of high powered Supras, it can be hard to deny one as well at top speed thx again!
  9. Hi this question has been bugging me for a while.. on a R33 GTR V-spec, I have been told that it's strictly rwd car until the rear wheels loose traction, only then the ecu switches on the front whees and it sorta becomes 4wd mode?? then I watch mpegs of GTR's on 4wd dyno's and all 4 wheels are driving the car lastly, I don't know if this is a factory option or aftermarket mod, but heard that there is a switch in the cabin which allows the driver to simply switch from rwd to 4wd mode? can someone pls clarify this.. thanks
  10. hi moo_r32, my adaptor would fit silvia's but for your skyline, you'd need the proper adaptor unless u have a fmic which you could weld the adaptor on the piping.
  11. 1) HKS SSQV with adaptor used for 1.5yrs in excellent cond. Suit any turbocharged car. $300 2) Blitz DD bov with adaptor excellent cond. comes with interchangeable mouth piece - $350 parts in melb, can cod at buyers expense. Pls contact me on 0421 387 840 for pics and immediate sale.
  12. my flatmate has the hypergold ones on his white R33 GTS-T and all I can say is they are the best rims on the market atm.. 1 word of advice - go for it!! they have a nice racey look and certainly bring out the looks in skyline's as well. very nice indeed. he got his from donnellans, box hill, paid around $2k for 17x8's with tyres.
  13. hmm.. few guys have mentioned the RX7, and although it is one of the supercars, they don't really appeal to me. weird huh? i find the interior too cramped as I'm about 6ft and it kinda feels like the NSX interior where it would suit smaller sized guys. performance wise, very breathtaking and a mate took me for a spin on the eastern freeway and we hit 260kph in what seemed like seconds and the amazing thing is the car was stock as a rock. I have always liked big, muscle cars like the gtr and supra, so I will stick to them.
  14. there are a host of compliancing workshops for each state in the HPI mags. well, used to be there, dunno if they still advertise them. if i remember correctly, it' somewhere towards the end of the mag. good luck.
